It seems odd that someone buying a Limited would not order factory air conditioning. My mother had a white 1958 Roadmaster, with AC and all the trim. It was changed over to springs but still had the air ride compressor in place. Blue interior. Wonderful car.
They had a 19 gallon fuel tank. So it needed refilling about every 160 miles. Almost equivalent to today's EV cars needing a recharge. Gasoline back in the 50s was about 22 cents per gallon though. So a fill-up was just $3.50 The Limited was not cheap to operate for sure.
Does the shift linkage work OK? It was hard to tell from the video. Does the gas pedal starter still work? I've done several speedometer's in 57s and 58s. I can tell you it's a bear of a job. It seems as if they're all broken.
Yes, shift linkage is fine....I fumbled around with it since I only had one hand to drive LOL. Gas pedal start works fine, too. I've done a few 57-58 speedos....and you're right they're a bit of a monster. I could have this one done in a few hours if needed though.
@@antiqueautomotiveservice Thank you for that information. You're obviously very knowledgeable on 58 Buicks. Not many people around who are these days.
The most flamboyant car that Buick has ever made❤❤❤❤❤❤.
The Limited name has been synonymous with Buick for many, many years!

It seems about 50/50 on whether a Limited had AC. Those old AC systems were so complicated and HUGE in the late 50's.
Cars sold in Northern states were often sold without AC even into the late 70s.
So much detail in these cars!
Every one sold came with its own tow behind gasoline tanker.

Hi,
Do you mind telling me how much it was sold? I'm looking for one, this going to help me understand the market.
It sold on eBay for $22.5k in August.
