There was a time way long ago we had a car like this with two doors Faded red It does n t matter that it was way long ago I could never forget that car Two doors faded red We had a lot of problems with that car but thank you for sharing this video
really nice Buick and you don't see many of this year anymore! FUnny Story for you , my old neighbors owned the very busy funeral home in our town, and they never used a Cadillac except for the hearse, they always used a Olds 98. She said when they went to this slopped back door roofline, mid late 50's , the ladies dressed up for the funerals with their girdles on, couldn't bend over fall enough to get in the back seat, she said the Olds got turned in on a Mercury pretty quickly but went back to Olds as soon as the design changed
364 cubic inch V8, 300 horses with a four barrel carb. mine sucks gas. that power brake system is called a Treadle-Vac system, and good luck finding anyone who knows how to rebuild the master cylinder or even find the parts. I replaced mine with a power brake unit from a 1968 Oldsmobile. mine is a 2 door, light Blue with a white top. still under a hundred thousand original miles as of 2015
CARS used to offer a rebuilding kit for the power brake system in 57 and 58 Buicks, but don't know if it's still available. A mechanic friend did one for me many years ago and was fine with it. There's a huge nut under the dash that has to be removed with a Kent-Moore "cowl nut removal tool" which is basically just a big socket with a handle.
In my view, of all of GM's divisions, only Buick's '58 models were well styled. All the others were too gaudy for my tastes as a kid, then, and to this day. Somehow Buick made all of this chrome work well.
Every time i see a Buick like this i think of my Aunt Cappy and the different Buick's she'd show up in every time she came by. Every day she got to choose a different car from the GM garage. Wow was she lucky!
Lots of Cadillacs and Buicks used the long, narrow battery. Today only the commercial version of that battery is available which is a bit bigger than what the cars had new.
I loved these museum monstrosities when they were on the road, but today they are considered impractical, oversized, heavy, hungry dinosaurs of Route 66.
I was looking at one on a dealers lot once. The salesman came over and told me I owed him for five gallons of gas. I said I never started her up. He said you didn’t need to. But you thought about it.
+varigdc10 LO VENDI' HACE AÑOS , LO PUEDES VER EN UN VIDEO DE " CARROS CLASICOS EN CUBA " , AHORA NO ME INTERESAN LOS CARROS COMO CUANDO JOVEN , SOLO RUEDO 3 MILLAS AL DIA Y CON UN TOYOTICA COROLLA DEL 97 ME SOBRA .

One of those little grill squares has 100 times more style than a Tesla.
The hood release levers are right next to each other. Big trick!
Yes! This is nice!

If you were to sell, how much would you like? 😃

Good that this person wasn't dealing with an earlier side-opening Buick hood :)

Everything came together for a great looking Buick in 58.
Never seen such a huge battery for a car.

And they were expensive way back then too.

GAWD the chrome! I miss chrome. Nothing but plastic and "color-keyed bumpers" nowadays. All cars look alike, nothing distinctive about today's cars.
did you guys change the brakes to disk brakes and if you did where did you go to find the proper kits for them?
It appears to still have its original drum brakes.
What am I talking about well if you understood English you know what I'm talkin about a missing motor and a locked Hood
