Hello, and thank you for this good recipe. I just made them and they tasted doughy and were a little dense ...but I'm thinkin it is because I used bread flour instead of all purpose. Hehe next time I cant wait to try it with the right flour and in a cast iron :-)
hi! I am glad you enjoyed it. yes the bread flour will definitely make a texture difference since it has a different protein content than AP flour. I hope you enjoy it when you try them again!
Looks Fantastic! I usually make Drop-Biscuits because, I'm intimidated by The Flour, Rolling Pin thing. I don't want them to turn out like Bricks but this seems straight forward and easy. So, I will try it. Thanks! If, they turn out you'll have made My Papa, Happy! Piper
Thank you Piper! I totally get it I felt the same way but they’re actually so easy to make. The biggest thing is to not overwork the dough in the mixing process. As soon as it’s pulling away from the side of the bowl it’s good! I believe in you :) keep me updated!

They look delicious. And, hey, pre-buttered-perfect.🧈😋 I just watched the buttermilk biscuits video from America’s Test Kitchen. They grated the butter into the dry ingredients, then folded in the milk. You might find that easier. Though their precision dough handling was a bit too-I don’t know-clinical?
I'm eating more plant-based, so I bought "vegan butter" (as expensive as organic butter) for the first time. Grating failed miserably - it was too soft. Maybe my mini fridge isn't cold enough? I'll put it in the freezer compartment next time. So - grass-fed organic butter this time. FYI I replaced a cup of APF with oat flour (the ol' oats in food processor trick). Came out great.
@@PlantifullyBased Ok so I made them again the other day and used half oat flour again and vegan butter from my little half-ass freezer compartment, LOL. It worked this time but I could see the "butter" already melting fast the second I collected from the grater so didn't get those flaky layers but still delicious!

Would this recipe work if I sub all purpose flour with gluten free flour?
Can you use a kitchenaid dough mixer to do this or does it have to be manually?
Cathy Mendoza you should do this manually because you don’t want to overwork the dough. It will result in very tough biscuits.
