Trim over the door is called a broken pediment. Broken, because the wood breaks before making a complete triangle. Design dates back to the Romans architecture. Very classic. Great video.
When you showed the outside of the house it looked so beautiful with all those brick walls without any cracks anywhere in the bricks and it looked so clean that I couldn't believe that it was built in the 1888 and then when You showed the inside that is when my jaw groped with everything being a mess. Thanks for showing that one Brent and keep finding them because they are interesting.
has a very sad feeling ..seeing all the items left behind ..it's like they left in a hurry ..or what life they had there was sad and dysfunctional.. thank you for taking us along ..
One of the things that made me subscribe to this channel was that music at the intro. I love that music. I live watching the videos exploring abandoned buildings too.
Must of really been a great family home at one time . So sad to see this home sitting and rotting away . All the children’s items left behind always makes me feel so sad . A great find . Knob and tube is a type of wiring. Plumbing used to be all lead , copper or cast iron . Thank you for sharing this video .
I was living with my dad in a rough time in 2007 as he and my mother split apart after a long marriage. He sold the house and land as is and we moved on leaving everything behind with it. We honestly didn't think much of it. Possibly some of these folks didn't think much of their belongings either when they left for whatever reason.
What a stately home. A lot of children's clothes and things left behind. So overgrown wasn't sure you would find a way in. I agree the colors were very very bold in this one. Thank you for posting and sorry I missed the premiere, this was soooo good! Love your filming and editing n' most of all your funnies, ' sock on the knob' LOL!! Please Stay safe out there! 🏡🏡🏡
I'm renovating a 120+ year old farmhouse, and man... I'd love just a couple of those old doors. Just a couple. It's such a shame beautiful places like this are left to die.
dear Gail: we renovated a farmhouse, over many years, that was 120 years old when we left! it had the fieldstone basement, and porches. it was a wonderful home. I wish you all the best. it is a huge labor of love. this home could have been so lovely and spacious too. sad, but a great find.
@@lindakrumenauer1099 my house has a mix of fieldstone (for additions) and granite slab foundation. Yeah, massive, solid granite slabs. That part of the house is never going down! I love restoring her. I would squee if I could get some of these pieces.
Wow, you can tell this was a great house in its day. So sad that it has been left to deteriorate and will be demolished. Thanks for another intriguing explore! : )
When you showed the basement, it reminded me of a house I was looking to rent in Antigo Wis. By the time I got to the house it was already dark, but went inside to check it out and went down into the basement. The furnace looked almost the same and wondered how there would be heat in the winter time. I couldn't believe the dumps people were trying to rent out. Needless to say I got out of there real quick.
Classic explore! Love when you do other stuff, like playdium on your last video, but a classic farm with stuff left behind is the best. Thanks again Brent.
I always end up watching your videos all the way through. You seem to show everything I would want to see and your camera skills and personality are great. You are one of the best explores on UA-cam!
As soon as you opened the door to go down to the basement I got goosebumps. I had an odd feeling about the basement and the field stone walls! Stay safe and thanks for the video!
My guess is that they only took the clothes that still fit the children. They outgrow them so fast! Having said that, though, people can leave in a hurry. When I was young my family moved into one rental and there were still plates on the table with food on them, like they had left in the middle of a meal. Crazy!
I hope after every explore you always check for ticks usually the first thing I think of when you walk through the tall grass. Another great explore thanks Brent!!
Hard to believe it was only abandoned a few years ago with all the animal droppings etc...it was in pretty rough shape. Would have been a nice place originally. Thanks for the explore Brent...cheers from Ontario !
Holey moley what a fantastic house i love it, i would live there in a heartbeat and on a great bit of land. Love the island in the kitchen infact the whole kitchen is lovely. Such a waste of a house, awh and the kid's toy's. This Makes me sad and they left behind the pet carrier. The paw patrol made me think of the missing child in TENNESSE SUMMER WELLS her favourite TOY. . Cool explore Brent i enjoyed it a lot. 💙
Yesss new video from my favorite explorer 💪🙌 I don't know why,but the notification didn't arrive on time 🤔 but it's good that I stayed awake even though I get up early this would not miss another great video, very old house with a lot left behind stuff and very strong colours on the walls...You do the best filming, the best and most unique explorer 👏👍this was super relax before sleep really real enjoyment 💯🙌😁 Big greetings and kiss for my favorite, the most charming and handsome explorer No.1 with the most beautiful smile 😁 from other side of the world the world 🌍 from Serbia 🇷🇸❤ always be careful and take care 🇨🇦❤ Good night 🕞⭐😁
I think the colors painted on those bedroom walls, and in the bathroom were so dark and ugly! Lol! What a shame to see this house go to waste! Thanks for showing Brent!❤️
Thanks for another great explore. A lot of sadness there as someone's dreams are now destroyed. I got the feeling that all the stuff left behind and strown about were a reminder to remember that someone once lived there and it was their home. Stay safe.
Another amazing explore! I felt this house was filled with sadness though - wasn’t a nice place for those kids to be, can’t explain it - just a feeling I got. Beautiful house though with original floors in some of the bedrooms upstairs I saw. Yuk to the cobwebs though as an arachnophobic I would hate to walk through even one of those 😖 Thanks for taking us along with you!
Beautiful house. One of few abandoned ones I've seen explored that looked like it could be salvaged. That litter box in the basement hasn't seen any action for a while.
Recently abandoned homes like this tend to make me feel uncomfortable as we all know what's going to happen to them over time. It's sad. A lot of other people who don't watch this kind of stuff don't realize just how quickly an abandoned home/building can rot, deteriorate, and eventully fall apart when left alone to the elements. Seen so many abandoned homes that were left in the early 2000's that already look HORRENDOUS and are completely unfixable. Just terrible and sad at the same time. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful find!!!! Sad that it’s been abandoned, there are so many people who don’t have a home that would love to live in a house like that!!! Me included 😊 Thanks for sharing !
It's a systemic problem! Practically ALL of the local factories that had FT living wage are long closed and moved to the US and Mexico...the nearest town is usually a 40 minutes drive.. It's hugely expensive to live in houses like this.. If you are unemployed you'll have better odds winning the lottery than afford this house rent or buying.
I’m living in the burbs in California where housing is in high demand and there are many homeless people. See beautiful houses like this left to the elements is so sad to me. But thank you for documenting and revealing a life that was once thriving and is now available in a different way. ☹️🐾🌘
Omg that house reminds me of my Aunt and Uncles Farm House! The attic looks exactly the same! Great find! It seems they just left in the middle of the night, with all the clothes and toys 🧸 left behind. Look forward to your next video! 😊
I really liked this one. I’d have a hard time with the bedroom (the small one) not having a closet. Although the others were tiny. Strange that the barn was locked up. Great job Brent!
Looks like it was in process of updates going on. See masking tape along woodwork like it was going to be painted and the new vinyl window in the closet going to be put in that one bedroom.
I just found your channel and the job you do is excellent. You have to love the detail and the quality in old farmhouses, not like the homes built today. The homes they build today they are slapped up with a lot of builders that don’t care. Don’t get me wrong there are great builders but the quality isn’t the same as these homes. We bought an old farm house and have been renovating it over the years and just love the workmanship these old timers do. I don’t think I’d buy a new build unless we did the building of it.
Wow homes were built so solidly back then, I always love seeing the detail & care they put into building them. It's such a shame to let such a gem rot away & then just demolish it. I would love to see it restored if it isn't too far gone, but unfortunately it's all about $ for most of society. Those of us who like to see things saved/restored are a dying breed! Thanks for sharing, I always love your videos they're so relaxing. Thanks B! Love, hugs & God Bless you 💞💞
No way, I’m pretty sure this is a house I’ve driven by many times and always wanted to explore! We actually drove by it today and it looked like the vegetation in the front had been cut down, but I wasn’t paying attention until the last minute so I could be wrong… I’ll have to drive by again soon, but I’m glad you’ve documented it.
I would have loved to have seen this house after it was first built. Those floors are amazing. And the wood work on the doors. Very nice house, just a shame when houses like that turn to abandon and decay.
Historical old house. Once upon a time, it was bright filled with love and laughter with a family..Now so sad to see how downtrodden it is...Could be haunted the reason why No one will buy and renovated it...
I can't believe how detiorated this house is I was in years ago before they rented it out it sat vacant for a few years. It was beautiful inside my pictures looking nothing like it does now.....such a shame
That home appears to have good bones and definitely is worthy of a restoration. I can tell that whom ever moved out moved out during the Christmas season. Also I picked up that there was a lot of sadness involved in that home and whoever lived there recently was a product of poverty. I can only hope that whoever owns the land can restore that house to it's original glory...

It's so sad to see these beautiful houses be torn down. Great exploration.

Always amazing at how much can decay after only two or three years with a window open or broken out. Love that there wasn't any graffiti! Cool video!
Thanks Jay

love those old doorknobs. I agree with you about squatters. That stair railing and stairway are really nice.
At 4:43 I have that same green tea! Also loved the house.
I love old houses that has the big attics. This one gave me the creeps though. That house would be worth saving. As always Brent, great video.
You can always tell a rental... lived in but never loved. So sad to know that so few care. Peace to all the old houses everywhere.
Everytime i watch your videos, i feel sad but I couldn’t stop watching it..
That could be such a cute farmhouse and I agree with you about the attic ..make it a huge master, walk in closet and ensuite.
wow, love the woodwork, doors/knobs and stairway!! 4 beds would be nice!! Beautiful in it's day! Thanks so much!!
LMAO 😆. The sock on the door let's people know your getting it on. 😂. Haha! That's hilarious!

It's amazing place for children growing up
A really nice old place, on the border of no return. A good roof is what is saving it.

beautiful old farmhouse, i love all the wood doors ,still amazes me that people leave all their clothes and stuff behind got you a Ko-fi, Brent
Hey thanks Jeff 😎👍🏻
Thanks for risking your life to show this...creepy basement...sad to see so much left behind...
Such a great house!! So sad that it's open to the elements & the last residents were 3 years ago. Slowly rotting away. Hope someone saves it!❤

What an incredible house. I grew up and lived for many years in a home built in 1829. ❤️
Nice House thank you another

That's a nice house even the attic can fix up real nice to have a bedroom/living room and also a library space
