Wow, leyline really made an impact! Would like some more control decks in the format for sure, hopefully people will figure things out. Thanks for the overview, go go 15k!
I'm really torn between Shifting Woodlands and Mardu sacrifice. I think Mardu has more staples that'd be worth crafting but I imagine I'd enjoy Shifting Woodlands more. Any thoughts or are they both worth crafting?
To your point mardu gives you the shell for a number of decks where some of the cards in woodlands only fit that deck. Sacrifice deck is harder to play optimally and will take reps to maximize the win rate. Example was with another viewer using my list that was 13-3 while they couldn’t break 50%. It’s got a lot of player agency and multiple lines so having experience lets you optimize. That said I always recommend people play the decks they would have the most fun with. Doesn’t matter which deck is better if you hate playing it
I can't believe there is no control deck in the historic meta anymore But I guess that what happens when you print so much more agro cards then good control cards
The power level of MH3 provide so many 2 for 1. If it was just auras control would eat the deck but energy/bombardment/ajani piles make control rough as the threats are varied.
@@kiltr4p851 well, there is no 'meta list' I can build a list myself if I will take myself a faw hours to do so, that is not the problem, the problem is this type of deck is no longer strong enough to be a real part of the meta. I remember times just last year when blue white control was the biggest deck, and control mirrors where the standard game for me... I should probably try to do some kind of a jeskai control list with one ring and the new titan...
Mtg decks tends to be dated or limited for historic. Aetherhub tracker I don’t like as much as untapped, as untapped has more people using it. MTGAzone on the free side just reposts user decks but doesn’t show their win rate, just a placement in mythic. Their tier list content is behind paywall and I wouldn’t rebroadcast the writing and content Altheriax puts up for that. Was there any other sites you had in mind? Historic unfortunately doesn’t have the paper equiv to leverage MTGO info like I do for Explorer and standard

There’s entirely too many control decks
So happy to see some version of Izzet Wizards has survived in this new meta dominated by MH3. One day it’ll be obsolete, but that day is not today.

I was so stressed nobody was using barbairain ring with the rdw leyline until that last list😂.
That thing has won me so many games.
ya people just love defaulting to 18 mountains when there are so many good utility lands

No kidding! Was looking for a blue deck, but they're rather scarce. Red and White got all the new toys.
You still see them, full of shit to stop every meta deck and like 1 card that works as a win con😂
@@kiltr4p851 I come from a world where control decks have no wincon, except for Elixer of Immortality. They win by decking you!

Is it normal Mardu Sacrifice has 71 cards in it?
Thanks didn’t catch that at first. Updated the list within the link to 60 card version
@@MTGJoe Thank you!
No black or black/white?
the auras deck is mainly white
Please use other sites as well.
