If you trigger Ulalek with Echoes of Eternity, you will either get 1, 2, or 3 additional copies of the Eldrazi spell plus the same number of cast triggers in most cases.
I didn't see it mentioned anywhere so I'll point it out. If you have a ton of annihilator triggers on the stack after attacking, you can flash an eldrazi spell and copy every annihilator trigger and even retarget them to a player you didn't attack.
Jeah thought the same this makes this card even more powerfull...i wonder does ulalek copy the triggered abilitys of the creature you play or the copy or just the triggered abilitys of all other cards on the battlefield?
When you cast a spell it goes on the stack. Then all triggers on cast also go on the stack so lets say that now you have the creature and the cast trigger on the stack. Now you pay 2 to copy them. You add three more copies of the triggers on the stack so you then reaolve them in order based on which thing landed on the stavk last. Now you copy ALL the things on the stack AGAIN and youd essentially get 4 of the initial creature, 4 of the initial cards on cast effects and double the second cards. Please note legend rule applies here. So when the extras come in those rules apply and youd have to sac the creatures. Hope that wasnt too confusing an explanation.
@@Butmunch666 i see, thank you for the explanation! Why is haste importent then (original comment)? Or did they just mean flash? Also today I played my first game with this deck and my commander was removed from tge board before I could cast anything 3 times in a row so I never even got to use the ability lol. Ended up winning without it.
@@flyingby3703 Haste is not important here, its the flash. Haste is important mostly for just killing someone with the massive bruiser you cast that turn and possibly trigger annihilator and similar effects- The thing is the stack resolves at instant speed. You can only stack on top of it with instant speed casts or abilities you trigger from cards since those are all instant speed and you then šut those on the stack. Imagine a pile of cards you're making, you make the bottom layer of the pile when you cast, when you do the cast trigger resolves and puts a fictitious card that states the effect on top of the pile. You can then, lets say use the commander ability and copy the cards already on the pile and stack those on top but you can also after that add more stuff to the pile, but to do it you need to use instant speed cards. So casting an eldrazi as an instant adds to the pile, which can help you trigger the doubling effect.
Note that if you can get more then one spell on of the stack you also get a copy the original Ulalek trigger. I will not go into detail but you can do insane stuff. Getting 8 or 16 copies of 6 drop is much easier then you think (Kozilek’s command is the main culprint being an insane mana generator and an Eldrazi instant).
@andrewhawkinson3410 basically you cast an eldrazi spell, then ulalek's trigger goes on the stack. You respond to that trigger with something like kozilek's command (x=10 because why not), which IS an eldrazi spell, thus creating another ulaek trigger. You pay the 2 colorless, copying the kozilek's command, ulalek trigger, and initial eldrazi+ trigger that you cast. Let the two x=10 commands resolve and get 20 scions + whatever else you pick. Now you can pay for the most recent ulalek trigger, which again will copy the initial ulalek trigger. Rinse and repeat. Hope this helped.
Some other good cards to consider: Imoti, Celebrant of Bounty - a cheap card that gives 6+ mana cards cascade. Jodah, The Unifier - lets you play more legendary Eldrazi for free, and buffs them. Basalt Monolith - can go infinite, and allow you to infinitely make copies of everything. Mirror Box - lets you keep the copies of your legendary eldrazi, and buffs them. Impact Tremors - deals one damage to each opponent whenever a creature enters you field. Could probably win the game using just this and your commander. Fiery Emancipation - triple combat damage from big Eldrazi. The Great Henge - good card draw, healing, mana, etc. Ulalek + Basalt Monolith + Impact Tremors would be a game winning infinite combo.
