Good set up👍 Ive got my turbine plugged into one of those wireless light switches so I can flip it on and off in my paint room. The turbines are in the one car bay. My "wall" is heavy white farmers plastic stapled to a frame between the 2 work areas. A little primitive, I guess, but it works. As long as your setup works, that's important. I like the wireless light switches idea. Plastic stapled to a frame is what I did at first in my other setups. Then, I got some 2x4's, drywall and my neighbor who does housing construction had some scrap windows for free. It's been mostly trial and error, but it's working out alright now.
Quick share on todays turbine results. Had a silver Chevy that needed a small paint repair that meant blending the silver and clearing the rear panel moving up to the sail panel where I would do a clear blend. The Apollo was awesome again for laying metallics. But my biggest success was finally having the clear turn out the way I wanted it to with no wetsanding. Really no buffing. I may do a quick polish tomorrow, but I don't think I would have to. Got a real nice factory texture with good clarity. Used the 0,8 and the CC cap. I will try the 1.0 and the CC on the full paint job i'm working on as you had suggested. But for this small job, man, I was happy to get the results I did! Big step in the right direction
Did a large truck hood today with the Apollo 7700/cc cap/1.0 needle set/ 2 to 1 high solids clear. Splash of slow reducer again. Here is what I've been doing. Works for me. Get the fluid dialed in. I know right where its "right" for me now. Full fan on large area. I am spraying close to the surface and rather fast. Might be only 3 inches as the CC cap has such fine atomization. moving rather fast and close and watching the clear go on, I have been doing 100 percent overlaps on this high solids clear. And it may take 3 passes to get the wet edge I want. Then I move on and repeat. Until the until surface has that wet (but not running) look. No runs at all with this technique so far. I guess it might seem like more work, but the results are all I care about. I struggled for a couple jobs before I found something that worked, and had extra wetsanding and buffing. Now I am getting repeated results and conistancy and frankly that just makes me even More excited about turbine spraying! I first looked into it 3 years ago, but waited until this year to invest the time and money to make the switch. Best kept"secret" in the auto painting world in my eyes😅 If only they knew what could be done with one gun and a small box👍
Your recipe is solid, it's working for you and you are getting consistent results. I had to epoxy prime a small section the other day, I mixed 2 tablespoons of epoxy with 1 tablespoon of activator for a 2:1 mix and I still had material leftover. Oh yeah, it's easier to transport a small box and a spray gun than a big compressor in the trunk.

I haven't tried the Fuji turbine spray guns yet but I'm sure they'll also do an excellent job. I started with Apollo's turbine spray gun early on when they first introduced it at Sema around 2013 -2014. I read the article in Sema news about how Apollo was one of the most innovative new products at Sema. The Apollo spray guns have won numerous awards. Have fun spraying with your Fuji Q5 turbine, you made an excellent choice. Thank you so much for watching and commenting.
I used these size ear clamps made by Oetiker: Series 241 for an Apollo - barbed threaded end fitting - to an Apollo coupler, and Series 226 for an Apollo - barbed male end fitting - this end goes into an Apollo coupler. This is the breakdown of my Flexzilla hose mod - the hose end that connects to the spray gun is the Oetiker Series 241 clamp and the hose end that connects to my wall coupler is the Oetiker Series 226 clamp. I'll get a video up to show the close ups.

Where do you get the quick connector for 5/8 hose flexzilla?
Get the Apollo hose connect couplers, they will work when connecting directly to the Flexzilla hose end.
Hello Jake, Did you use Gapless ear clamps to connect cut end fo Flexzilla hose to the coupler.
