Hey nice video. I’m a noobie, what’s your setup? I want to know what all you used instead of using what came with the kit, please?
Do you use the heat resistant part of the stock hose to connect the flexzilla?
Can you send me the link of your regulator and all the fitting. Thank you! I found the regulator but I can’t find all the fitting. I need your help. Thanks
Uncle Roger would not approve
Uncle Roger my hero, Uncle Roger would agree the burner plate is upside down. He would say, "Why the flames orange and not blue, this must be rookie, oh my look at that burner plate, it upside - but the MSG sprinkle looks gooood." Thank you for watching and commenting.
Does the avanti 5 stage holds the scfm well with the 50 feet ?
It does really well at 35 feet, but at 50 feet I haven't gone that length and don't have any data. I'll try some experiments with that length and see what happens.
I’ve learned a lot of tricks from your vids. Thanks. But how does the flexilla handle the heat?
I bought some of this. Do you think your method of spraying it while snow blowing works best, or should I apply it per the directions on the bottle before it snows? Also, have you run into any issues since you started using it the ceramic wax spray?
I've applied the spray wax per directions and also while I'm using the snow blower. When I start to notice the spray wax is no longer effective, I'll just spray some more to finish off the snow blowing. Also, before the start of the snow season - applying per directions is a great way to apply it. But, in the middle of the slush and cold, I opt for spraying it "on the go" to get the job done and out of the cold. I have not run into any issues since I started using the ceramic spray wax. It does not build up on the plastic surface of the snow blower and clearing off the slush before bringing the snow blower back inside the house is much easier. Thank you for watching and commenting.
I have both gas and electric i love both no hate and both has ita up and downs, i like the electric for the same reason cus its quiet and im too lazy for the gas start ups sometimes
My brother in-law has a gas Husqvarna and it has super power and gets the job done fast, but it's not quiet for sure. I opted for electric because I've had my share of pulling the starting cords on gas weed trimmers, lawn mowers, generators, etc... I also got a small, hand held Amazon battery powered chainsaw and it does a really good job. Thank you for watching and commenting.
No way you did the whole thing on just that tiny grinder 😂 how long each battery last??.
Very much appreciated the past and present posts surrounding the Avanti 5 stage. I was able to find a clearance unit with no hose for $160.00 for my first and only paint job for my 68 Firebird. My first test sprays of 50/50/10 epoxy/activator/acetone turned out very nice, minus the dust particles caused by painting parts on a table vs. hanging them up.
That is a great clearance price. Thank you so much for watching and commenting.
Interesting to see how these turbine guns are actually built compared to pneumatic spray guns. A good experiment would be to try and get a low pressure pneumatic gun to work with the turbine setup. It’s been very hard to find examples of others trying such a setup. Most say it isn’t possible but I believe with a pressure fed configuration and an iwata gun with a split tip nozzle it will be able to atomize material efficiently and just as well as the turbine guns.
It’s a shame this product was discontinued it was the cheapest 5 stage turbine on the market. The only one I can find that comes close to the price is the Sprayfine 5 stage going for $760 plus shipping. But they all use the same motors. You could actually upgrade the avanti 5 stage to a 6 stage blower if you purchased an Ametek Lamb 5.7 6-stage motor they are about $400. It’s a very easy install.
Good to see you still posting videos. Thanks for sharing how to disassemble the Avanti guns. I bought two guns on clearance and have one with my stage III turbine from Harbor Freight. When the guns went on clearance, I knew Harbor Freight was going to discontinue selling the turbines. Going to check all three for leaks.
Help! I got an Avanti 5 stage turbine. The gun blows air out around the trigger when it is pulled and air always blows out of the port hole in the back of the turbine unit. Very little pressure at the nozzle. Is this normal?
That is not normal. There are several places the air could be leaking from. Check with soapy water to try and pinpoint exactly where the air leak is coming from. The coupler at the bottom where the hose attaches could be leaking the air, and that air could transfer up thru the handle and appear to show the leak is in that area around the trigger. The section at the back of the spray gun where the mixture needle slides into could also have air leaking around the fitting. The trigger area, you will notice a brass slide and a white seal gasket, check for air leaks around that area with soapy water. I made you a video to try and replicate possible scenarios. I discovered an air leak after I took the spray gun apart and reassembled it. The air leak was from the bottom of my spray gun with the coupler fitting not sealing properly. I removed the handle and wrapped teflon tape and then reassembled the fitting - the result no air leaks. I'm working on posting the video, however it is lengthy as I was also discovering new problems as I took my spray gun apart. Should be a up in a couple hours.
@@JakeLesada Thanks Jake. Turns out the needle plug sealing gasket behind the trigger had not been pressed-in. Your video breaking-down the gun & checking for leaks was very helpful. Works as it should now. HF doesn't sell it anymore. Know if needles/caps are interchangeable with other brands or where there available? I also did the Flexzilla hose mod. Any thoughts on the heat issue at the turbine hose connection? My sprayer hose is connected directly to the unit degrading it. I thought maybe an aluminum leader pipe w/ fins or something to dissipate the heat of the air coming out of the turbine unit? Your setup running the connection though a wall to a secondary connection may be dealing with this issue, but I need to maintain the units portability. Thanks again so much for responding. I didn't really expect you would since it's been some time since you made the 1st videos. Nice to know you actually pay attention to your subscribers. You're Awesome!!
U.DONT.NEED.ALL.THAT.CRAP
Sorry 😂 but why are you wearnig ears protectors and handgloves? With this gloves you dont have good grip..
I've tried without hearing protection, but I like to protect my hearing. As for gloves, I've tried without gloves but my elder friend suggested to use gloves to lessen the impact force transferring to my joints. His friend chopped a lot of wood and has issues with his joints. I've tried no gloves too, but I don't like splinters and splitting wood in winter with no gloves - my hands got frozen cold. Now, I just wear gloves and works great - no splinters either.
Hey bud great video. Worked like a charm.
I did not have 3mm tape what should i do
You can use a foam mounting tape. They can be found at most hardware stores in rolls for an economical price. Scotch brand foam tape, Harbor Freight brand foam tape, etc... Just be sure to clean - both the car mirror surface and blind spot mirror plastic back surface for better adhesion of the foam tape.
Thanks, mine went out recently and your video is a good demonstration of what I gotta do next
Jake Lesada...does it again!!!
Nice work
What's the cost of running this
Nice work
Does anybody cut an old module to see the circuit? Could you see which model of Panasonic cell has inside? And I would like to know if they has a bms to regulate the charge of the six cells inside the modul . Thanks
Great tips - Thanks Jake!
Thank you
Can you show me the high pressure adjustment set up? Because I ordered the burner but the regulator doesn’t fit 20lb propane tank. Thanks
I had the same regulator fitment problem when I first put my burner together with a propane tank. The propane valves for USA are different than what arrived with the burner. I use the Mr Heater High Pressure Regulator in the description. *note, you'll have to get a threaded barbed end hose fitting to connect with the Mr. Heater regulator - and the barbed end connects to the hose using a hose clamp. Then, do a soapy water test under pressure to check for leaks. If no leaks, then ignite the burner and adjust the Mr. Heater regulator to increase pressure to get desired flow. I sourced the barbed end fitting at my local hardware center. It works great.
Complicated!
If it's 102F why are you wearing long sleeves?
Don't want farmers tan and mosquito bites.
Hey, I had a question about your prolong battery chargers. They don't make a charger and a discharger in one?
I didn't see any "all in one" units on their website. The ones I got are separate units. The charger only charges the pack and then balances the pack. The discharger only discharges the pack at different discharge rates, but you have to choose which discharge rate button to press. The whole process does not solve a hard failure on a specific module, and that bad module will have to be replaced.
Does harbor freight not sell these anymore?
That's correct, HB pulled them off their website and stores - unavailable. I'm promoting the turbine spraying movement, check out my other channel "Turbine Sprayer" if you have time. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Very insightful as always Jake. I'll be looking for one of those hoses here in the UK! Thanks
Gotta 45 the tip my guy
Didn't think about that, thank you. I'll 45 it on next tubes got it.
I don't see the Avanti turbines for sale anywhere. Are they still available or have they been discontinued?
HB discontinued them, but the knowledge I teach in my videos will apply to any turbine setup. Also, if you have time, checkout my new channel "Turbine Sprayer" it's all about my spraying methods and modifications for automotive turbine spraying. Thanks so much for watching and commenting.

Whats the best gun for base coat and clear coat and single stage thanks
I've done numerous hours of testing and advancements with my Apollo turbine spray gun, so naturally I'm a big fan of the Apollo turbine spray guns. It's the brand I first started using, and their spray guns have won numerous awards. They also have a variety of choices for needles/tips, air caps and promote automotive spray refinishing.
Thank you
Whats the specific compound and polish u use?
I'm a big fan of CSI Ceram-X polish. Yes, I've used Meguiars and Rupes and other brands, but CSI is my current "go to polish". I color sanded and polished the red 1968 Mustang, (shown in one of my videos) using a combination of Ceram-X polish and Rupes. The Mustang recently won best of show out of 400 plus cars.
It works! Great video!
Thank you so much for watching and commenting.
Sorry, total noob question. How is that fire making it into the wok exactly? Is something igniting in the wok? Oil?
The oil is close to flash point, and when the burner flames wick close to the edge of the wok, the oil ignites to fire.
@@JakeLesada Thank you!
I wonder if the anchor lines could be run through the pipes?
They could be run through the pipes, but the covering would still need to be held down with something. Thank you for watching and commenting.
Harbor stopped selling this item so now if you need parts we are screwed
I opened up the machine and did some testing with some of the components. It's a simple design and all the parts look replaceable using parts from different manufacturers.
Holy cow, thank you for this! I just ran out of string and will be replacing mine this week. This explained everything perfectly. Thanks brother!
You are so welcome and thank you so much for watching and commenting.
Are you stupid?
This video is 🔥! Thank you for this!!
You're so welcome, and thank you for watching and commenting.
I’ll say that this video thought me about the type of clamp but if you’re going to make a video on removing this you should’ve zoomed in so we would see how it’s removed up close. I have to remove one of these off my Mercedes power steering reservoir hose

Thank you for the suggestion. Checkout the video at 2:29 for a closeup. I'll try to get a better zoom in on my next videos.
