Walton goggins is so good he willed this character into existence (and pretty much changed the direction of the show) only after 1 episode - he was originally supposed to die in the first ep, but the show runner liked him so much he changed it.
Call me stoned, but he is like a Dark Jesus, dispensing Gods righteous justice. Possibly blasphemous to say, but still a fun fantasy to indulge. Great scene, performed beautifully by Mr Goggins, regardless
Just finished binging this show and at the end, you could tell Goggins had taken the thing over. Fantastic ending - only way it could have ended, really. Crowder and Givens......LOVED IT.
Boyd was the quintessential antagonist. There were other criminals, other bad men to give Raylan targets but Boyd was his perfect nemesis because they were both so alike.
@@TheWingsoffury Boyd never really went head to head with Raylan until the final season. Usually, the two were just wrapped up in similar business and happen to cross paths. As a US marshal, and frankly, a lazy member of law enforcement, Raylan never arrested Boyd because it didn't fall under his law enforcement mandate. I'm not saying Boyd isn't smart, but he had little power and animal cunning that he used well.
High accolades to Goggins, obviously. Also, the guy Boyd's confronting here was the chief lawyer at Wolfram and Hart for a while on the series Angel. His performance in the elevator ride to Hell made that one of my all time favorite scenes from a television series.
As "Robinhood" as Boyd kind of was what his with Harlan pride and effective dismantling of every non-local big player that tried to takeover Harlan, it's just a tad bit horrifying when you realize that Boyd is still really coming jnto his own as "crime boss" for the duration of Justified. Relatively inexperienced and he can already orchestrate a DIY execution of a wealthy socialite type of guy. A bit of a shame that all it took was the sight of a literal pot of gold (Markahm's money in the vault) to bring him down.
Suiuuch a satisfying scene From the moment he entered the show, and i saw how rich and cocky he was (because he was rich) i knew he was gonna meet a foul end at Boyds hand lol
It's too bad Justified didn't the respect or recognition of a Sopranos or Breaking Bad because if this were real life, there isn't anyone named Soprano or Gus or Tuco or Mike that wouldn't run away from this guy like a scared little girl.
Never seen the sopranos, but as fir your breakimg bad characters, tuco was touched and wouldn't run from anyone or anything. Gus was far too powerful and connected to run from a boyd crowder. He killed the cartel heavy hitters and their Don literally in their own back yard. And Mike was far too streetwise and tactically savvy to let boyd scare him. He would have been wary, and respected boyds threat, but run? No. They would have all stood their ground. Who would come out on top is anyone's guess but none of them would have ran.
Boyd Crowder doing what he does best ..... what a great character. This series is head and shoulders above most of the garbage they have put out through 2020-22.

I love Timothy Olyphant something fierce for his work on Justified, he embodied Raylan Givens to a T!
..but Walton Goggins made this goddamn show.

Kinda funny how Boyd was supposed to die after he got shot by Raylan. Could you imagine that, a Justified show without Boyd Crowder?
Boyd was never the most powerful villain, but damned if he didn't know how to use what little power he had.
I think your wrong he went toe to toe with Raylon every season and was the last villain to fall that makes him powerful and smart!

@@TheWingsoffury He was the first villain to fall. Raylan puts him down in the pilot.
He wasn't the most powerful villain in the series, but boy, he sure did have the most wit out of any of em. Only raylan rivals his intelligence

Absolutely amazing scene lmao. "MISTA CROWD.." "POW"
One of the best scenes of the show
Awesome scene. This and the one where he pays the guy with the black lung to kill that dirty cop are just perfect.
I still want to go eat fried chicken @ Boyd and Ava's house.
Hope you are a fast drawer.

Props to Walton Goggins. Best. Bad guy. Ever.
He deserved this on so many levels and boyd was there to cash it in.
He would have been great in Deadwood.
This man has no regret and no remorse he is a role model
He has some weaknesses/redeeming quality. He is in love with a woman, and loyal to her.

That fiddle playing in the background makes it feel like the devil is in the room and his name is Boyd Crowder.

I wish these channels would identify the SEASON AND EPISODE of the clips they copy and post.
Season 5 episode 5 Shot All to Hell. It is the opening scene.
Is there a Mr Gump, Ms Gump?
This is a freaking brutal scene. Paxton was a piece of shit and got what he had coming, but man that's a horrifying way to go.

Boyd could be brutal.
didnt he offer to release Ava from prison if he just admitted to his crimes but wouldnt because he wanted to save his own ass?
Ik this is a year old, but there was hope for Ava to get out, there would likely have been less hope for Boyd.
He asked for it.
OK I give up, what did the old man do?
