I love Mangrove Trees and they are among my most favorites! Love seeing them in Florida where I live! The Everglades have a lot of them! They also grow around Merritt Island and around Cape Canaveral as well near the Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. Awesome trees indeed! There's also some near New Smyrna Beach too
I love how Octavio makes mangroves incredibly important! Anyone that hears this message will get it.
I love this, I am writing my senior thesis on mangroves
Great video National Geographic
What was your favorite thing you learned from this video, Tim?
There is a guy in Indonesia, i forgot from what town he is coming from but obviously from java, he alone trying to reinstate the mangroves forest in his region, and yes he alone do that. It shows about how a lot of coastal community still do not understand the importance of mangroves for their livelihood. And yes another story that i Know well, Indonesia actually try to build a brand new power plant in the coastal area and obviously sacrifice it's beautiful mangroves forest and fisherman community just about 80 kilometers from semarang, in batang city, central java. Any effort to stop that kind of monstrosity are just ended in failure because you know.... A high investment and money are in that stake...
Iyakah??

Deep accents
We have mangroves in my land the roots length 40 to 50 ft , diameter 4 to 5 inches, the 1 tree got 30 to 50 roots and if you see its look like Christmas tree
There are some who believe that plants developed the "original" world-wide-web network, and that they have the ability to connect and communicate with all other forms of life and all of their many species on this planet. Considering the synergy that algae share with aquatic life, that forests share with mycelium and bacteria, that mangroves share with numerous lifeforms in their ecosystem.. I tend to agree.
How deep is a mangrove?
