Oceanographer and National Geographic Explorer Paola Rodriguez works to restore coral reefs in her native Mexico. What did you find most interesting about Paola's work?
I ve never heard of this technique before. So very informative interview. Riveting research and momentous practice on the field. So keep it up!!!!!💪💪
Awwwsooooome have a Super fun week an stay safe ^0^
That she is not giving up and she is taking resistant coral and planting them with the other ones who are not able to with stand stress ....Buena suerte to them all.
It's great that she is trying to help the reefs.😁
She's amazing! Thanks for watching.
Thank you scientists for saving our oceans and the creatures that live there.
There’s still hope. For someone who desperately wants to dive and observe as many species as I can this is good news.
Good luck with your endeavors! Stay curious.

This was so inspiring! Restoring corals is my dream job. I was first introduced to the idea when I watched "50 minutes to save the world" by Amir Zakeri and I knew that I wanted to dedicate my life to saving the environment. I always used to joke about shifting to Australia and restoring corals and whenever my friends used to come across anything remotely related to coral reefs, they'd always mention me XD. That dream seemed unattainable however now, I think I might be able to achieve it. Just praying to get an undergraduate scholarship in an Australian university!!
Good luck!!!
I'm worried about those plastic coral ties ending up in a whales stomach
JERONIMO PEÑALOZA (Student) I think they take it off when the coral gets big enough
when the coral gets big enough the take it of, they study the reefs and check on them all the time and are most likely biodegradable just in case they float away.
This is really good to see. Would like to know the results and also see her change to a natural fibre for strapping. Hard to believe that all those straps will be collected later.
Paola Rodriguez is such resilient and passionate when you hear her talking about coral reefs. The world needs more people like Paola, which will spend their time to protect our environment and especially the most unseen places just as coral reefs.
We need more people like them.
She's so positive and optimistic
Thank you for offering this great content. Not really I have used it in my class, but it is so inspiring to make kids take actions about their environment.
Awee!! It really good to see your own captions instead UA-cam's one
It's good for survive coral reefs
In us far away pleasebeautiful?
Big up for the effort thank you so much
Parabéns ao trabalho, ao vídeo, Deus salve o planeta!👍🙏🇧🇷
wow, wonderful experience
We need more people like her
Will try take less pollution. Thanks for your efforts
This is so good to know. And what a fantastic job! People get paid to do that?
Not nearly enough. In Mexico there are very few opportunities to do science, and there is even less interest and support from the government or the private sector to study and preserve the marine environment, which is terrible given that we happen to have more than 11,000 km of coastline.
Well I know! That is such a cool job!
I Really Enjoyed This Video. 😊 Love You National Geographic.
We're so happy you enjoyed! Thanks for the support.
More of this NatGeo, please, less drama shows.
wow Perfect
Amazing....
Keep pushing and fighting!
Great job mam well done
Yes. With plastic tapes, attach corals in the ocean, which die at the end.
Roythoxyc we should care them too as a good human beings
@@chethan8990 They say that those who want to save the corals but use plastic tapes for this.
@Roythoxyc yes i got but I think such a small plastic strip helps to root the corals and help them to grow and it won’t kill corals
@@chethan8990 Just what's the point? The reefs die because it is too warm in the oceans.
You have an important job :)
Color variation in coral reef sets them apart in bloom.
Wowww... please give me a ❤ 🙏🏻🙏🏻
how painful it is for people like you trying to protect the reef while more people are destroying it. 💔
Viva MEXICO
I just wanna be there!
I salute you! Awesome job. I have a question, there are certain countries busy in developing stages. Which they basically build or create their own Islands from scratch. How does one then move or relocate a Coral Reef?
My dream is to protect the ocean .. Thats why I do coastal clean up everyday ..every single plastic I saw on the coastal I pick it up and put into the sack. Because if we ignore plastic in the coastal area it might go to the ocean and its very harmful to every specie living in the ocean. Please lets clean together the coastal area.❤😚 you can visit my channel of you have time..keep safe everyone❤
Cane I ask is earth last time color purple??

Coral reef are important for maintaining the ocean biodiversity....
Everything should come down to the carrying capacity of the Earth's resources if we wish to survive.
I just love to be someone like you...but dnt knw how to...😪 my dream career is to protect ocean so that is why i am studying geography..gob bless u..and u are so lucky 😍💕
But then you don't attach corals in the ocean with plastic ribbons!
You can protect the ocean by picking plastics in the coastal area. ❤😚
@@jheaziaa yes I will do everything I can do..😘
@Shimy Girl .. That's what Im doing everyday .. I lost my job because of the pandemic that we are facing right now but this kind of crisis won't stop me by doing coastal clean up everyday .. Its time go give back our nature by doing coastal clean up ..
@@jheaziaa ooh really u are so great..I also hope to join a coast guard organization one day after I join university..
well I am so worried about it . well thanks for video

How to contact national geographic any email or phone ????
No big deal, guys; just trying to save the worlds oxygen.🤷🏽♂️🙏🏽
Leave nature alone please and thank you. Don’t be arrogant
hi shout out
its hard to save now...coral bleaching is a major problem, corals ecosystem is damaged due to reasons like global warming...and greed of human beings wont let global warming down...
What I am 14 minutes early
No, not climate change... Fukashima.
The biggest driver of global warming is animal agriculture, as it beats emissions for all of the transportation sector combine. It is also the main driver for deforestation around the world, it is also the main driver of ocean dead zones and species extinction. So if you want to do one thing is to keep meat, dairy, fish, shellfish and eggs off of your plate, and only then will we have a chance of reversing the warming climate.
