Yes piston wrong and it's not a proper head gasket as it should have a copper or metal rim on the inside also they used the same bearings seen a bit of rust or some thing on them and they went in to easy

Isso q ele fez é mais q suficiente, ele jogou bastante óleo, até terminar a montagem, deu tempo de molhar bem, mas se puder, deixe os 30 minutos banhando no óleo. 🤙🏼

The piston position is fine. If you are in the northern hemisphere, the arrow points to the exhaust port, if you are in the southern hemisphere, the arrow points towards to the reed valves. 😂

Nice restore, glad to hear you corrected the piston direction. One other thing, you should soak the new clutch plates in oil, for at least an hour.
Or, at least, oil the disks one by one
And it should be better to uninstall the bearings with an extractor (never use the hammer with bearings)
I like to soak clutch plates in oil for at least overnight

Wrong piston direction... that arrow must set to bottom/exhaust... Engine will run like normal, but piston ring will not last long

If you ever put a piston in and there's no arrow, the 2 small notches for rings to grip over are always at the back of the piston 👍

Piston installed wrong way. And most important thing don't use screw drive in gear to hold or tight nut. It causes to damage gear and make nose.

Yeah they are presoaked while in storage 😄, I've got them like that in the 80's.
if you are refering to a wet clutch its very common on motorcycles, they take alot of abuse.
