In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.
No Taskmaster musical number will ever beat "I'm Always Seeing You (Do Cool Stuff)" / "Rosalind's A Fucking Nightmare"
Not even “Tree Wizard”?
How about "Facts about animals" - Mike Wozniac

So Tim Vine carries a cupboard door off its hinge as his scary kitchen item and a cat skeleton toast rack as his pleasing cat-sized item. Makes perfect sense.
And gets 1 and 5 points for it!

@@MyNameIsNeutron lol...just for that I liked it myself!!
Probably he just really wanted to use it for the same size as a cat prize, since I’m pretty sure they find out all the prize tasks at once.

How come Tim Vine swore on the "pop the bubble" task but not when he spent 15 min looking for a damn hook?
I was genuinely anxious when he couldn't find the damn hook. Thinking that he somehow placed it in the bag amongst all the other stuff. I was on the verge of yelling at the screen.
I laughed so hard during that task I belched... And now I've got a hiccup
Laughed to tears
He came pretty close when he found it. “You are joking. You are fu..." And then he cuts it off.
The sincerity with which he said " It's a tracksuit"...
He believed in his soul that it was in fact a tracksuit.
I thought it was a train wreck!
This has the perfect 666 likes. I won't ruin it.
But is a drawing of a pineapple a pineapple?
What makes me laugh even harder, is the fact that the entire on set crew knew Tim had the hook on him, they just knew to say NOTHING
If anyone ever asks you to explain British comedy, that's probably it! 😆
i think alex knew right away that he had comedy gold on his hands with that
I always enjoy those solo tasks, the moment the realization sinks in they were the only ones to do that one is delicious.

Tim Vine at his finest!
I did the exact same, man. That guy is a legend!
GET OUTPLAYED! In real life I decided on "Train Stationary" a moment before Alice revealed her guess, and then Time Vine just comes in like the Kool-Aid Man on a rocket sled and says
"You're a normie, and I'm on another level."
And flies away. I yelled. I'm still marvelling.
Im two months late to the party but I thought he’d say his outfit was a “train wreck”

well, when interviewed together they continually claim they feel like father/son in the show, but also continually make deeply sexual suggestions to one another - its almost intentional
@@pemo2676No almost about it!
Alex was originally aiming for father/son but leaned more into unrequited love after he got told that's what it seemed like
Genuinely surprised that Alice, who seemed like one of the strongest competitors when the series began, is well at the bottom. I still look forward to her tasks because her endearments for Alex are low-key one of the sweetest things on the show, right alongside Heron Man Mark Watson, Positive Mel, and Mark & Nish Pairing, among others.

Russel being a git to Alex during the bubble task and Alex's slow burn revenge of 'chewing gum not bubble gum' was just gold.
I think Tim Vine is hilarious, but the hook accidentally falling onto his uniform, may be the funniest thing he has ever done.

Fun fact: you can already see it in the footballing task of series 4 episode 6!
I have to say; moments like 35:16 speak VOLUMES to the effort of the sound engineers working behind the scenes on Taskmaster (that one was for Tim Vine). The whole editing team does a fantastic job at telling a story from what I have to imagine is hours of seemingly random footage of strangers. Love the show!
If they tried that hook thing again they could try for 200 years and it would not happen again :)

I've been waiting 9 episodes for that ridiculous outfit to cost him a task and it at last came true.

In case you missed them the Tim Vine Chat Show is available on BBC Sounds. He is a master of timing the quick punchliners.
For the first task, how mean would it have been to put a penalty for popping the bubble wrap.
I thought the task was going to be something like "pop the fewest bubbles on the bubble wrap this was enclosed in" lol
Just like in the fishbowl task in series 4 with the penalty for eating the chocolate.
I thought _for sure_ it was headed in that direction. Clearly, as it turns out, I was wrong. Hahaha.
@@radlee974 "Clearly." Snicker.

Remember when they had to write songs about Rosalind and both attempts were shockingly good? Yea, this musical task did not live up to that at all.
yea but did the rosalind task have an Aryan Tupac
" ... Look at that tree" it was a masterpiece
....Rosalind's a fucking nightmare
I get "Rosalind's a fucking nightmare" stuck in my head all the damn time.
That's the first task that popped into my head!
The moment Alice and Russell started singing I immediately went "welp, they lose". Then Alex walked out and I realized I was a fool
Their song was pretty catchy/high energy by itself. Alex's cameo was just the cherry on top. Perfect.
I love it how Tim Vine does the tasks. The hook thing is the absolute best :)
He is my favorite as well
Not that it matters, but the results for the plastic bag tasks were all over the place :D Asim took the second place with only 16kg, while Alice only got third with 20.5kg.. and don't get me started about the handle of Lisa's bucket :D
Exactly, what even happened with that scoring??
@Mel RoI agree. it said the bag must hang unassisted. Liza should have been disqualified.
The bag is hanging unassisted - the bucket is just also hanging on the same hook. Nothing in the rules against that, she could have just hung the bucket beside the plastic bag
This is why I came to the comments! 😂 we listened to the announcement of Alice and Asim’s bag weights 3 times, so confused
D Mentia Good point! But does it really count as “making the bag heavy” if the content and weight of the bucket aren’t carried by the bag but by the bucket itself? Pretty sure they wouldn’t have counted the bucket had she hung it next to the bag, but weight-wise this didn’t seem different.
I think it was Terry Pratchet who defined funny as when you sit alone and "read" and still have to laugh out loud, I mostly watch this on my own, cant keep myself from laughing out loud. Such a funny show with the funniest people in it, thx UK.

She got unfairly positive judged this show. She didn't pop the ballon, nor did she do it with her nose, she did it with toothpick and yet got 5 points. Should be disqualified.
@@jaimy_games but unfairly negatively judge the previous shows in my opinion
@@jaimy_games no thats completely fair, thats popping the bubble, popping doesn't mean bursting only, popping can also mean making a hole. and she did used her nose to push the toothpick . so those are completely fair and within the rules.
@@Andy-ru2eb yeah thats true, specifically the task where greg has to give points. he gives her the lowest very often unfairly.
@@zeuxlaught2797 that's why series 6 is the worst series of Taskmaster to date. Greg is so openly biased towards Liza that it's not funny anymore. All the arbitrary point tasks gets scored exactly how Liza Tarbuck has approached it. If she half arsed it, then points will be given for half arsing. If she goes into it following the rules then everyone thinking outside the box will be disqualified or mocked. Unfortunately Alice and Asim are completely opposite to Liza. So they get scored the least in every one of those tasks.
Honestly, one of the last joys in life for me is when someone makes Greg geniunely laugh.

Exactly
Joe was cheated out of 5 points, he deserved them
Yeah, they just wanted Liza to win is the problem.
I find myself just not able to like Liza at all. I was abit meh on these guys at the start of the season but most have been able to endear themselves. Liza is just bland and lazy, she's not got the quick wit or charm of the others but whats worse is just just coasts by on mediocrity and often just has a bad attitude or cannot be arsed in doing the tasks as if its beneath her. I wish Greg didnt give her so many favour points, she does not deserve her place. Live task is a classic example of her bad attitude, just grab a few and give up, what a lame boring attempt.

I love how Russell immediatly asks Alice if she had to do the Tim Vine task probably cause they filmed all their taskes together
Alex did say they were groupedtogether because of their filming schedules so your theory is absolutely plausible.
@@stambayheere1283 But very unlikely, they are only on set together when the task requires them to be grouped, there's no way Alex would ask a busy person to sit around twiddling their thumbs while he did tasks with someone else. Russell was just turning around to the other three because he was as confused as they were.
@@krashd Oh wow, someone found my comment from a year ago. Are you enjoying the series? :D

This episode had one of my favorite bloopers:
"And we've grouped her all by herself, it's old-pointy-nose Alice Levine!"
*Alex dies a little inside*
This is solely a guess based on her last name, but I'm pretty sure Alice is Jewish; if that's true, then the joke could have been taken as a shot at her ethnicity, so it wouldn't be surprising that it wasn't broadcast.

Tbf Alex never told Russel he was trying to blow chewing gum not bubble gum
Tim's lost hook also makes for better television.
@@rovielgalang1199 Correct, people forget that this is a comedy show and Alex is a comedian.
I wonder if they maybe misinterpreted Greg after the bubble task. "It would be pretty mean spirited of me if I didn't award her the 5 points, so that's exactly what I'm going to do." And then she assumed he was using a double negative (he didn't) and thought she won, but then Greg just went with it.
While your point is correct that it is ambiguous, I don't think he meant it that way but indeed wanted to give the five points. Though we'll never know.
2 years late, but that's exactly what I thought. Announcing he was going to do the mean thing is such a typical Greg line, and he knew it would be awkward to backtrack after it didn't land so just carried on.

It's so hard bearing through the intro ever since the "where is my mom, where has she gone" cover
Definitely 😂
Alice is the exact type of person to immediately associate the word "bubble" with "economic bubble". I'm not surprised at all by that at this point in the series.
It reminds me of... I think it was a short story by Karel Čapek; definitely a famous Czech interwar writer who worked in a newspaper. If I remember correctly, it features a psychologist who demonstrates word association and claims one can learn a lot about a person from it... A member of audience is called up, and keeps giving loads of immediate associations of phrases of this sort... turns out he works for a newspaper.
I think Alice's work for radio may to some extent be at fault here. 😁
Tim Vine is an unusual man. I do like how this show encourages different types of problem solving skills and creativity.
funny how Greg's joke about Alex's neck applies to him too lol
I just discovered there is such a thing as a toast rack. Is this a British thing? As a house painter, I’ve been in the kitchens of many American houses and I’ve never seen one. I usually just make toast one or two pieces at a time, as needed. I’ve never made toast in large enough quantities that I’ve had to find a way to store them.
I don't know if it's just a British thing, but it's definitely not an American thing. Maybe we should give it a try, up our breakfast game. Though Americans definitely win with pancakes. When I lived in the UK, we taught our mates the true potential of pancakes and that you could just make them at home easily - and eat them ANYTIME, not just on Pancake Day!
Pretty sure the toast rack is more of a posh thing.
There used to be toast racks in households all over the world, including in the USA, but they’re rarer now since the invention of the electric toaster. A toast rack was a cooking implement, not a storage implement, and you’d load it up with bread and hold it over the fire - or later, place it in your oven - and then remove it for many delicious slices of toast! I turned up _many_ toast racks at my grandmother’s house!
Side note: in most of the world toast is serious business, and could be a side-dish any time of day or a meal in itself (similarly, see the French and their omelettes), and can also mean simply warmed bread, not necessarily browned - so it’s conceivable there are also toast racks meant as serving dishes, such that a table of four would pluck their dinner toast from it, or something.
@@danopticon @Ricky Tenderkiss I worked at a artisan bakery in sales for years. Never figured out the right answer to "what bread makes the best toast?*". Never ever heard any question about a toast rack.

Davis, Noel fielding (mighty boosh got pretty big a while back) and (i know he hasnt been on taskmaster, to the best of my knowledge at least, but hes part of the same circle) Jimmy carr, whos stand up got a good amount of air time on comedy central.
@ Erica Kriner I also want to know the name of the podcast. Maybe it is Revisionist History it drops every Thursday. Please put us out of our misery and tell us :)
The track suit task is genius. It feels a bit like they're picking on Vine, but he enjoyed it, everyone enjoyed it, and the pun at the end, brilliant. Great way to tailor a task to the players, hope I see more of that!
Of course they were picking on him, you’ve seen individual tasks before right? 😂
I literally cried laughing at the hook incident
I was howling and my BF watching it with me hadn't seen the hook.
My stomach hurt, this series is fantastic
