In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.
Of the 5 contestants, one measured with inches, one with feet, one with meters, one with miles and one with lobsters
They used to english currency too.
I just love that for all the people who pick on the US for using feet and inches, they sure use them often on this show 🤔😁
Don't you think it is a bit scripted?
This was the one that had the label on it with the length written on it, im pretty sure they showed that tag to them after the task but it's not shown here

At least Greg acknowledged her contribution and how she pulled it off by herself
Im surprised Greg didnt just give the points to Liza and give 0 to the other two
@@JohnSmithJane If he had, Tim would not have won, but she would have. Dammit.
The fact that Tim chose the most mental way of going about the entire string task... and was the most successful is beautiful and oddly inspiring.
Not really mental. Find something you know the length of roughly then wrap the string around it. you would atleast get very close that way. Most people know the length and width of their hands, id say
@@AStrategyGameDev yeah I would have just used my forearm
@@alexortiz9777Back when I was a trainee at work, I was told, that holding your arms out at an 90° Angle (T-Posing) and then bending the right arm at the elbow so it's in front of your chest gives you about a meter between your hands. I used to meassure Cables like that when getting them from storage.
First few times I meassured them afterwards and was baffled how accurate it is, especially useful when you need about 25 meters of cable and don't have time to slowly meassure.
It was even more impressive because the guy showing me the trick used it pretty accurately aswell and he was way smaller than me.
Might be faster than putting it next to your forearm and also meassures approximately in a widely used scale. Forearm lenghts were used widely in history aswell, before standardized meassuring. Some historic buildings still have the "standardized forearm" mounted to their wall, it there was a market selling ropes or fabric in front of them, way back in time. That was used, so the seller wouldn't easily profit from having small forearms or mismeassuring. - people could go up to that standardized thing and meassure for themselfes, no foul excude of "my forearm is shorter" anymore.
I would have done that but with my elbow

@@deejeh9494 it's quite a common thing to say in the UK so it's easily understood. The idea isn't so much that it's easier or quicker to write. It's just one syllable instead of two. I have no idea why we say it, but that's slang for you
Alex trying to be mean to Russell is so excellent - “I’m not sure about your hair” is a slam dunk insult
His stupid frosted tips 🤣
It's funny how Russel tries to be the "bad boy" of Taskmaster. Sadly that's the only funny thing about him.
"I don't understand your dress sense"
The more subtle the insult the more believable it is. If he called Russel the worst competitor they’d ever had, it would be an obvious lie. But ‘I’m not sure about your hair’ is perfectly plausible.
Everyone did so well at the egg task that i thought there would be a second part to the task where they had to eat their remaining eggs.
Honestly, that would have been absolutely great to watch 😂
Damn, now I always have to wonder what if.
You could say that the final task was just that.
Eat all of them? You've got a flair for the sadistic, don't you.
they technically all failed it the task said they couldn't tamper with the tablecloth and they all tampered with it
The fact that Assim's guess at the string came in second is so funny. Everyone else tried to be clever and he was like "realistically, it's gonna be a few hundred feet innit" and got 4 points for it.
Same happened with Charlotte in the similar 'Find out how much Alex weighs' task in series 11
that final scene of Tim feeding a donkey with Russel's brother showing his calves while Greg hops on Alex is truly something.
A wild episode all around.
A farce is often the hardest thing to write well... but that ending felt like a masterstroke of tv entertainment. Anyone tuning in then would've been bamboozled as no explanation could surely could justify it. But it all made sense and was wonderful.
And then he fell off and breaks tiles the chair over, oops 😂
“I’ve absolutely no idea; I can’t help you, and I’d be wrong to pretend I did.” Tarbuck got me rollin
It's amazing how well she's doing considering the number of tasks she puts minimal effort into or outright purposely does poorly on.
That’s what Greg’s bias gives you
27:11 Look at alex's face when Asim says "You know what this could be!? The Alphabet!"
This had me dying. I was gonna point that out because I literally went back and watched that bit so many times, it was so funny.
He said, “OOP” 😂😂😂
I was laughing so hard at that bit 😂😂
Just goes to show we don't get nearly enough reaction shots of Alex, *especially* when he is breaking character.
Well spotted
Liza figuring out the task instantly, but the boys prattling on about H and trying to figure it out, Liza eventually giving up on waiting for them and just doing it herself and then them being like "wait what just happened" and she's like "I did the task..." made me genuinely a little sad 😭 Liza is so clever and one of my favorites this season
She didn't really figure it out instantly (but was pretty quick), and was very none committal when mentioning her idea "I keep thinking it's something to do with hopping" and then she went quiet. She didn't point out all her clues or explain herself (people can't read minds, we all need a little explanation). When everyone else was in a figuring out mode shouting out ideas she did nothing to differentiate her hoping idea from the noise. So I don't blame the boys for "prattling on" cause they were clueless and looking for something to grab on to. Liza needed to be more assertive if she wanted to be listened to, be she with males of females, staying quiet isn't how you're heard
I think they thought "hop" was a clue, not an answer, they acknowledged hop at the beginning, but we didn't see her saying "we are supposed to hop 100 times", so they probably thought there was no way it was that simple and were trying to figure out the other clues. I personally wouldn't have figured out because it would take me a while to realize "hop" means jump since I'm not that familiar with the expression "bunny hop"
@@nicosmind3 "I think it's to do with hopping"
"...this clue means zyx blah blah blah"

As someone currently watching the series in order, 4 and 5 had such incredibly top tier casts, but lizas my fave contestant yet by a mile
She said "we have to hop", "it's hop", and "were supposed to hop", all whilst the boys were arguing and ignoring her.
I love the flit of confusion across Russel’s face when Greg reveals that he has gotten a piggyback ride from his brother before
Alex is breaking character more and more with every episode of this season and I for one think it makes this impossibly hilarious show even more enjoyable
for the first 4 series he got more and more into his character and established it, now he is breaking it and I'm totally fine with that
I think every woman has had the Liza-hops-moment at some point in her life. 😄 Brilliant episode!

I like to think that he spent the entire length of the taping being trained in donkey handling for the dramatic arts.

I actually gasped and applauded Russell but then I realised everyone did it perfectly.
It's a perfect setup, because usually he's the only one to nail a straightforward physical attempt. This show's editor's know what they're doing, it's a well cut show!
"Ring your agent.."
"Funk that!"
Liza's quips specifically to Russell are just too perfect.
"What was that?"

I'd guess the egg task was supposed to be a tie-breaker, since it was so short. But was rendered useless since everyone succeeded.
EDIT: In hindsight, I should have been more specific. The tablecloth task.
I thought the piece of paper at the end of the string in the "string measure" task would have the actual length of the string. Like that's a very Alex Horne thing to do I guess...
Tbqh when they read the task I looked up the standard length of string balls, which took less then 5m and gave me 100m
Asim's vegan announcement is such an incredible achievement because he created what seemed like one of the most awkward, badly timed moments in taskmaster history and then revealed it to be an absolutely genius slow play.

How did Tim Vine manage to crawl through that tunnel toy? 😂 It looks so small even for Russell or Alice
Most importantly, he did it as if it was the most natural thing to do in this situation, certainly not intending to make a gag out of it. I love it when contestants just throw common sense out the window at some point.

Liza figuring it out the hops puzzle and her team not listening to her gave me soooo many flashbacks to my engineering group projects in college! I also spotted the hops immediately and though "oooh those must smell great!" then Russell went and asked why it smelled so bad in there. Doesn't that guy like beer? He must not be into hoppy ales.
Yesss, Liza getting ignored like that made me so unreasonably angry. Just because I know exactly how this feels!
I live close to the Heineken factory and trust me the hops smell horrible.
When Tim and Asim got the full five points, I said, "If Tim wins this episode now, I am going to be livid." Then he won the episode by *one* point (after Liza crushed the final task). GAH!

"Until I distribute myself across Alice's mother's poly-tunnel" omg hahaha
Only innocent word of the sentence was 'distribute', despite the effort.
I so want a Liza Tarbuck detective series
She solves every crime 5 minutes in and the rest of the episode is about trying to get the male detectives to listen to her
Units of lobsters make just as much sense as units of feet to me!
It's funny, my guess, when I heard the task, was 100 yards... obviously, I meant yard the unit of measurement, not yard as in the back garden... my yard is pretty big, probably, 61 lobsters long.
They literally said that the lobster was 30cm/1ft long. Tim’s guess was spot on and also I do think the whole world should use lobsters
Well not everyone has a lobster
The best part was that each lobster was twice as long as a lobster because he counted one as he went ALL the way around it. :)
I can go in on a lobster based measuring system the question is which lobster... Different lobsters come in different sizes. Bit like measuring distance in dicks. You think it's a measurement of at least 6inches at first as that's pretty much the average everywhere. But then it turns out the guy who made it had a micro penis and now the standard unit of measurement is about a singular inch.
"What if... It was a woman who made the dick system thus the standard unit of measurement becomes 0 thus all forms of measurement become invalid..."
love how so much stuff is going on in the ending, that one could almost miss Greg hopping around on Alex back, only to fall off and make a crash landing back into his throne
that was a great fall, truly
He sure has a strong back
But I'm sure for legal reasons they had to show in the last clip that it was actually just a box
What's the time?
Oh lol found it at the very end
The fact that Russell asked if the face shield was a health and safety thing then instantly threw it to the side is both concerning and hilarious
UA-cams recommendation algorithm is dumb as fuck. Its like "I see you're watching series 6 episode 5, would you like to watch series 8 episode 3 next? Or perhaps series 6 episode 8?"
Half a year later they are recommending the Episode 2 after this one, so they'll maybe get it right in like a year.

A lovely demonstration of a theory as to why eggs are egg shaped. They are smaller on one end so they will roll in circles, rather then rolling away and getting smashed.
23:13 One of the items on the list is "1 bag dry cat food (Patatas)" referencing the cat stuck in the tree from S2E04!
Also 2 tubes of cheese spread (teeth), because Alex mentioned he brushed his teeth with cheese (since he's an adult) one episode.

Everyone hating on Tim and Asim for getting the points and that task. Two things:
1) It's a team task, in other tasks Liza gets carried, everyone does, giving points out based on contribution defeats the point of a team task.
2) They could have been more open to her, but from the start she was basically working on her own, and her just saying, it's hops at the end wasn't really an argument. They thought hops was a clue to get to jumping, and so her just saying "it's hops" with no explanation wouldn't have convinced them. Also, Tim says about jumping a hundred times, then turns and sees her hopping, thinks she's jumping, and immediately joins in.
Tim at least, looked like he was trying to work with both of them.
I'm glad it's not just me who noticed Tim was at least trying to contribute to hopping (plus 'hopping' doesn't have to be on just one foot, it's kind of open to interpretation). Also yeah, Liza barely did anything in the charades task, Tim and especially Asim carried that.
Tim and Asim did not deserve any points for the hops task. All they did was hold Liza back for 7 minutes!
Did anyone else catch Alex calling him Lord Greg Davies as he introduced the prize task, a reference to a prize task in an earlier series when someone officially purchased him a Lordship?
It was a nice reference, but the Lordship thing is a total scam (you’re just paying a Chinese company to send you a fancy piece of paper, you do not actually get a title or a piece of land).
After 6 series I have finally realized that the room in which the contestants usually open their tasks is actually downstairs and not on the top floor.
Yeah, they run between the kitchen on the ground floor and the room a lot.
The floor plan of the house is online from when the house was available for rent. It really helped me understand the layout. I was surprised there wasn’t a top floor!
That fact that you thought a 1-story house somehow *HAS* a top floor is boggling enough XD

Hope Greg wasn't hurt when he fell from that stool at the end of the credits. Long live The TaskMaster!!!
When I heard the opening task I thought the sturdiest thing Russel could bring was his mom. You know she’s tougher than her boys. Funny he brought his brother, but I still think his mom is sturdier. And I love seeing her show up on his gigs.
I think Alices solution to the string task was awesome. This show always encourages you to think outside the box, so I think she should have won that task.
Cutting the string to something that I knew the length of was my first guess, because of the saying "how long is a piece of string? Depends on how long you cut it". But I guess the wording of the question was "this string", not "a piece of this string"
I always try to choose 1 person to support at the beginning of a series but by the end of every series I will end up loving every single one of them.
Goddamn waking up to taskmaster is a blessing
Russel;'s brother's face at the end is like "why on earth am I holding a donkey"
Liza saying Scramble when Greg asked what would happen if you drop a man on an egg and Russell immediately loosing it, was great
So Liza got it the fastest, no one listened to her for a long while, then she just finish the tasks, her teammates are mad at her after and then everyone in her team gets the same amount of points? YEP. That seems right.
That was magical, and I loved the Eggs, Lobsters, and Donkeys contained within. This show is genius, and I look forwards to watching more!
I think Liza is my favorite contestant yet across the first six seasons. Just an absolute surly icon.
Lisa Tarbuck instantly becomes my ideal woman with that line, "...but I do often have a tool on me."
Everytime Alice smiles, my heart melts
Alex has had some pretty good laughs in this series, its nice to see that even he can lose his composure because he's having a good time in this show
Makes me unreasonably happy every time Greg says "That is a lovely bit of kit."
