I am huge fan of Kanye West, I'm from Zimbabwe in Southern Africa and would like to explain this. "Kanye" is a Ndebele/Zulu adverb. Ndebele and Zulu are languages. These languages are part of the broader umbrella of languages known as "Bantu languages" which are native to Africa. "Ka-nye" basically means something done "once" or "only one time", and i think is the more befitting definition of his name, not "the only one" as the given meaning in this documentary. "The only one" is actually the definition of the word "Mu-nye", not "Ka-nye". Foreign interpretations of such words tend to miss the mark as these guys don't understand the ins and outs of our languages as we do, and as said in this interview, the name was simply taken from a book of African names. I bet you 100% the author is/was not African. Stay woke my brothers.
