Watching this back now, I think Kanye would have been so much better off starting his own label run how he wants. He clearly seems most passionate about changing the music industry and he just beelined for the most powerful position he could find. He could pretty easily fund this and could grow it. I also think that failing so completely in the presidential race definitely contributed to his downfall after the race and during the pandemic.
He had his own label but it still was under a big label as a sub one, you can’t really make your own label without it being under one of the bigger ones for distribution

Watching this back now, I think Kanye would have been so much better off starting his own label run how he wants. He clearly seems most passionate about changing the music industry and he just beelined for the most powerful position he could find. He could pretty easily fund this and could grow it.
I also think that failing so completely in the presidential race definitely contributed to his downfall after the race and during the pandemic.
