Elvin Bishop is a very underrated guitar player. Love him. Saw George with Tom Petty at the State Fair in Salem Oregon so long ago I don’t remember the year but it was one of the best shows I have ever seen in my life.

"One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer" was written by Rudy Toombs and recorded by Amos Milburn in 1953, John Lee Hooker in 1966, and George Thorogood in 1977. Amos Milburn's version strolls around a piano. John Lee Hooker's version rocks a full combo behind his real folk blues. George Thorogood's version growls all the way through to the end like a triple shot of that stuff!

Had the pleasure of catching him in concert. Best concert ever and after the show he told the audience what bar he was going to hang out at. This was in college so every college kid with fake id was at the bar.

YESS! My dad always sang George Thorogood to me as a kid, it was literally the same as a nursery rhyme for me. The song he usually sang was "Bad to the Bone". Im new here but if you haven't heard that one I recommend it!! Specifically the album version, not live

Elvin Bishop (aka Pig Boy) is now 82 and still touring with Charlie Musslewhite. They were nominated for a Grammy in 2020.

I remember them from the Anvil Inn in Kennet Square, PA, a long time ago-back in the 1970s. They were the Delaware Destroyers. Pro football HOF member Joe Klecko used to work the door. Every time the Destroyers were at the Inn, I would try to get there. Memories!!!

Yes, when George called out each of those greats one after another, Elvin played licks in each of their styles.

I was lucky enough to see him in his first major exposure to a main-stream audience when he opened for The Stones in KC in 81'. Man I can't think of a better opening act for The Stones. George kept the crowd on their feet for his entire set, with every song just flat out cookin' grooves! By the time The Stones came on the crowd was so full of energy it was almost unbelievable. Killer show by The Stones as well. Thanks for your reaction.

George is great, but I always love this video to get a chance to see Elvin Bishop again. -- As Charlie Daniels sang in "The South's Gonna Do It Again" "Elvin Bishop sittin' on a bale of hay
He ain't good lookin', but he sure can play"

Brings me back. When my classmates were listening to Duran Duran and Boy George, I was the unpopular kid listening to George Thorogood's entire catalog of music. It's good to be right, even at eleven. 😂👌🏼
    Cheers from PEI Canada.

George's version is a combination of "House Rent Blues" by John Lee Hooker and "One Bourbon, One Scotch and One Beer" by Rudy Toombs.

You really, really, need to listen to Robin Trower. After Jimi Hendrix passed away, Robin Trower filled the void IMHO.
