Was trying to play a game with the three new factions. Atlanteans and Aztecs had cards for each other, but the Amazons did not come with cards that work with the other two factions (cards for Atlanteans, Aztecs with Amazon mechanics or cards for Amazons with Atlantean, Aztec mechanics). They're really not supposed to be mixed, huh? Anyone try to just play with the three factions with the provided cards? How'd it play?
The amazons expansion looks amazing, to bad they didn't include cards for Aztecs and Atlanteans, Aztecs did include cards of Atlanteans, so it feels like I am missing out on playing the expansions' factions with the new mechanic. I would have specially loved to try to "deck build" the Atlanteans with Amazons card, but oh well, overall I am thrilled to try it out once I get it delivered to me :)
I’m really looking forward to playing them. Unfortunately i got 2 packs of identical cards in the box instead of 2 different packs and so I only have a few amazon cards but 20 of each of the other factions!! Despite messaging Portal through their website, starting 9 days ago, there has been silence. Anyone else had this problem and this “great” customer service?
I also thought it was cool that unlike the other factions that have the 2 sided board with male/female leaders, this one being Amazons are both female but of 2 different races. I really want to get this game to the table more as I have the whole thing but have yet to play it. >.
You mean the 10 extra cards for the Atlanteans and Aztecs? In which case, no it does not pose a problem. It just "limits" your deck building possibilities, when you play with those 2 faction.
I wish there was good guidance on what to do with the common deck, it's stupid that every expansion adds more common cards but the official advice is DON'T USE THEM! WTF. Does anyone have a good solution? For the factions you can deckbuild... but no solution has been offered for the common deck to actually get use out of the cards you pay for in each expansion.
tigermuppetcut I’ve personally just swallowed the bitter pill of not even bothering with expansion cards in the common deck and only using the base faction decks, things are just less messy that way.
The official rules state to add one of the expansion sets you are using to the common deck. So just pick one to mix in each play. Simple as that! Keeps things good for us.
why's that? I've had some strong games , though admittedly have to draw deep into the deck early - though I've played more single player than multi with romans....
I feel like they're the hardest faction to win with, but that that's what makes them fun. You really gotta get some of their cards early for them to pay off. Maybe with some adjustments from an expansion they can get more consistant?
I have the opposite feeling. I love playing the Romans because of the storing swords since thr inclusion of conquests and fortifications they are my favorite!

to be fair... they are already powerful enough.
The A Team: Atlanteans, Aztecs, Amazons
Can't wait until they hit the "B" faction expansions!.......
@@Silverback67 They have yet to release the Annunakis.
@@DarthNVious and Aliens
@@Silverback67 Nope. They are at "K" for Kainde Amedha.
I'm surprised there were no cards for Atlanteans or Aztecs.
Really liked the game but the text is way too small. :(

Looks awesome! Does not having any cards for the other expansion factions pose a problem at all?

@@StefanoDiSilvio thanks. The compatibility had been a bit weird the last couple of releases. So just thought I'd ask.

You nimbly handle a deck of cards--like a magician.
so fucking complicated
Romans killed Imperial Settlers for me. That faction is just too under-powered.
