The freestyle at the beginning was on point.
CL criminally under rated
Oh yes!!!!!! Da 90's, where it all makes sense. And yes, this gem relates to the events of today. We need the essence of this. We will do much better than we're heading, but it's not too late!!!!
💋ma words
Masterpiece... Pete Rock also wasn't no slouch on the lyrical tip and CL needed no intro or definition cuz he was the real deal call him anything but wack and he wasn't ahead of his time he was right on time something different brothers were definitely conscious and they touched everything from politics to relationships brotherhood the streets family or just plain old fun this is where I'm from albums like this are rare when every trak is dope. Thank you fellas y'all are forever in the book of hip hop.
Arguably, this is one the best hip-hop albums ever
HIP HOP at best 🎤🎤👑💯💯🎵🎹📀💪classic 💎 gem omg Pete Rock amazing n cl smooth to
The beat is great
AHHHH when rap was good enough to play it back NOT cause you cant understand what the hell they said but because what they said was so damn slick lol
Dope!
BEAUTIFUL People. Before you ignore this, remember that all of your favorite artists got their start somewhere. Pete Rock, Pink Floyd, 9th Wonder, LL Cool J, Nujabes, The Carpenters, Nas, and hopefully soon ill be on that list. My name is Khari, Im from America, but I moved to rural Japan to really zone in on Music and martial arts.. While here I decided to go back to what inspired me to make music, a lot of which was highly inspired by Pete Rock and CL Smooth. To show the love that I have for Pete's Beats, And CL's lyrics, I decided to make a mixtape influenced by them. I would love to show the world, the influence this album had on us! I was wondering if any of you would be down to talk with me about Mecca and The Soul Brother, and about sending me some vocals about things like "When you first heard the album, where you were, how you felt, what was your favorite track and why"? But really anything is fine. I would be truly grateful if any of you would be willing to help, I would include the excerpts on the intro! y en español y otras idiomas estan bien porque el lugar de nacimiento es El Bronx!! Gracias!
Classic🔥
Real hip hop with a good feel vibe which you just don’t get nowadays
This song is banging, wish it started with out having to sit through that freestyle.
Best

Fukin guff
CL destroyed
Yeah the freestyle was kinda primitive I'm glad they only did that once cuz dude is not good off the top of the dome he sounds like the drill rappers nowadays but doesn't that make him ahead of his time... but in a bad way I would have scorched the earth with an opportunity to bring a trak like that on
Pete Rock, CL Smooth, On And On song is trash LOL. Black man rapping before On And On comes on said funny lyrics LOL. Mecca And The Soul Brother album is good. I like album cover. CL Smooth, Willie D of Geto Boys, Scarface of Geto Boys, MC Ren of NWA, Ice Cube of NWA, Redman, Run DMC, 2Pac Shakur, Tim Dog, Gang Starr, A Tribe Called Quest are my favorite rappers.
Gen Z ought to be embarrassed at how BADLY they've dropped the ball, in terms of carrying on the legacy/precedent set by artists from the 80s and 90s.
They've ruined rap music and have turned it into a BAD joke and caricature of itself...SMH
