The mushrooms that hurt you look a lot like destroying angels. A real mushroom that will absolutely kill you if you eat so much as a bite. That angelica looked legit too. I'm so used to games butchering herbs that it surprised me.
Mycology consultants aren't very common in games, but the little details they provide can be a pleasant surprise
I loved recognizing herbs in Kingdom Come: Deliverance.
Some I knew by sight but not name, and others by name and not sight. So its low poly herbs actually helped me learn. :)
I didnt know this plant actually exists, that's nice to know. Now I checked and it seems to live in cold and wet environments, so it makes sense Ive never seen one. Idk if they chose a plant living in these climates on purpose, but it is interesting to notice the game has something to do with cold. When the witch sends calamities to the player it is said that the air becomes cold
@@tenhayz1889I do love the apparent depth of the design. it's worth noting, though, that mushrooms are fungi, not plants.
@@unbasedcontrarian He was probably talking about the angelica. The destroying angels grow in association with evergreens (pine, hemlock etc.), so they just grow where-ever those do.
Played it for a few hours yesterday. It's like a destiny meets dark souls with rouge lite elements with extractions. Probably one of the best games I've played this year tbh..
Hope you do another video. Like to see what kind of boss is in this area bur that machine gun looks great!

That said, I really don't like the idea of visual impairment effects in games- especially ones this chaotic. Dodging enemy attacks, AoE's, and projectiles is already messy enough without something that'll slow/blind me for a few seconds if I'm accidentally looking at it.

the developers also worked on The Vanishing of Ethan Carter... you can see a lot of resemblances in the graphics and art department.
This game would be amazing co-op, but looking forward to it either way.
Apropos, kinda excited to see what the VR version of Bulletstorm has to offer, sounds insanely fun conceptually, definitely would love another Sairento-like
This game looks like a lot of fun. Very grindy though.
One thing that dosent look good to me, is these specific spawn areas for enemies and how many just plop out of nowhere.
I rather have more danger spread out around the map, makes it less predictable.
The goal is to give the player agency and have us make strategic decisions, which I like

I think Witchfire would be categorized as a roguelite as it has progression outside of your runs. Roguelike only has progression within a run. Correct me if I'm wrong, someone.
Yep it’s rougelite, 70% of “rougelikes” have meta progression which qualifies them as rougelites.
i think the two best things you can say about a game in today's day n age are "incredibly polished" or "microtransaction free" and this game is both so that alone is worth some sort of support

This is the break in the bullet hell/ vampire survivor rouge lite i have been waiting for, i am very excited to see how this develops

I jumped through a video a little so not sure if you figured it out. You have punch indicator in left corner above "mini-map". You refill it with kills.

Wander. The green mushrooms are supposed to be used as traps like the fire barrels. You keep destroying your own weapons
They're like the exploding mushrooms in Deep Rock Galactic, great for thinning out a horde
Yeah people in Deep Rock usually also always blow those up as soon they see 'em, instead of using them tactically.

I waited for this game since first trailer and so far ran first map few times. It's a blast (soured a little by UE5 crash while on my way to extraction after perfect clear of hardest encounter, couldn'teven picked my corpse,as it resetted to previous encounter)
Ive had perma crashes every few minutes before disabling upscaling, after that i had none for 3 hours, maybe that can help
Reminds me of Painkiller, but more polished. However if it is limited only to one location it will get really tedious soon
So the witchfire chunks are just regular witchfire that you dont lose? I feel like it was a long trek to actually getting into the meat of this game. Other than that it looks like a good time. Curious to see if there are any endgame features that would add a ton of replayability.

Any game that puts a stupid filter over your screen so you can’t see and degrades the fidelity so much is Bad and is just an annoyance to the player makes the game worse for no reason. I mean we can see when our health is low burr. The flash bang one’s too, it’s way too excessive.

you do know that you can reload even if the gun is not empty?
Painkiller was awesome and it looks like the creature amd atmosphere have bled into this. PK was ahead of its time. Also, Wanderbot needs to work on aim. Yes it matters in this game. The bonuses from head shots come into play later.

You have a nasty habit of not reloading when you absolutely should....
I don't see the problem of then spawning around you.uf check around and not go in a set direction,you would get caught if fuard less often
The lack of ability to notice thine surroundings is… impressive to say the least… so many times you were looking for a trail 2 steps from you, had an item you went past, or something else similar hahaha. Pretty typical on most of your runs, but still a good bit funny. Also a tad painful

Interesting video. My experience when playing the game is quite unlike this. Mushrooms poison me or blow up. Ranged champions force me to go melee range, melee champions jump at me with complete silence halving my health. I wonder. And not a few of them like here...no, there is like 30 of them.

Not really any different than Steam, one was just first. Someone should publish on a platform that lets you sell your games, then we'd have a real winner.

You're supposed to be invading the "land of the witch" where everything is trying to kill you

Ytied it for a few hours. game is too hard ( I think devs confuse hard with challenging). no potions really (herbs too rare so you save pots), no matter what the map shows, mobs spawn in other areas too. really bad sound (very confusing giving false sound and directions mobs at). all in all great potential but not fun at all.
How do you say incredibly polished when so many others say its a buggy early access?

The only bad thing about this game is not being on steam
Really not liking the lack of weapons and interesting spells in this game it's going to get boring real quick.
There are 7 weapons available for now, each with very specific powers. In total there should be around 15. Each of the weapon is carefully crafted, similarly to destiny exotics. I'd rather have that than hundreds of way less interesting weapons like borderlands. Also keep in mind the game is made by 12 people
