- I love TCU football and I don't like making a video like this because it does hurt me. But I do think TCU might be past their prime in a competitive Big 12. Things are changing fast in college football and I think TCU might have hit their peak and it might be downhill from here? Let me know what you think down below!

Huge TCU fan, Gary Patterson was a family friend when he was in Albuquerque. My little brother was a walkon fullback who made the team through tryouts and ended up scoring a touchpad his senior year (real Rudy story) I went to every home game from 08-12 and went to the rose bowl and peach bowl. Go frogs!

When they are perfect, they will always be snubbed due to the fact that they're the second smallest college behind Wake Forest. Even if they spend several years being a damn good team, TCU will always unfortunately get the shaft & I've been a fan for 32 years.

I don't think its a population issue. Notre Dame has less than 1,000 more students than them and Baylor, Northwestern, Miami, Vandy, Stanford and Duke are all similar sizes too and I can't see any of them ever being snubbed if they got that far. Especially if they'd won every game of their season. I think the CFPC just messed up more than usual that year.
This really makes me think about Ohio States 2014 championship. Would’ve loved to see OSU and TCU

Let's be perfectly honest, the CFP got the top 4 teams right in 2014. Ohio State the only team that was really disputed at the time won it all. Florida State was undefeated at the time and defending national champions. You had to put them in. Oregon looked much better than TCU and got to the National Championship Game. Alabama was the top team in the country. Hate it for TCU, but under the CFP format of only 4 teams, they got the right 4 teams

TCU is going to have a breakout year i believe. They got marcel brooks from LSU and 5 and 4 stars. I think they have potential to do good.

As a TCU student, I really appreciate the video. I think that TCU has had 2 really unlucky years in a row. We'll be back soon at the top of the BIG 12 in the next few years--once Duggan develops some more

Being from Texas I've always known about TCU. I wanted to go there for college when I graduated from high school but its a private school and I didn't have the grades or the money to go there. I'm an LSU fan but TCU will always be a team I cheer for.

Good video, i think "downfall" is a little harsh, i think it would be more suited to have this video about UT, especially with TCU beating UT 4 of the last 5 years, but that's another video. You did kind of hit on what makes TCU tick, and that's QB play, without really good QB play TCU is a middle of the pack team, and that's been a struggle since Kenny Hill left, there has been no consistency at that position, mainly because the QB's have been Freshman. I'm expecting a bounce back year this year and for the next several years as the QB becomes more and more seasoned.

Yesterday I would've said yeah, TCU would do well this year behind an improved Max Duggan, but now it looks like he probably won't play. Hopefully he can get healthy and come back to football at some point
This video was great just like all the other ones. I’ll still never understand how TCU fell from 3 to 6. We missed out on some pretty good possible matchups. TCU vs anybody in the playoff that year would’ve been a great game

it’s because the buckeyes crushed top-15 ranked wisconsin in the big ten championship. plus the big 12 title was split between tcu and baylor. they put FSU at 4 because they weren’t impressed with their season, but they were still 13-0 and had to be top 4

I would love to see like a snub video. Going through each year and making a case for a different that should have played in the BCS title or now the college football playoff. I think that would an amazing series l. Taking it back to like 2000. Your edits and how you explain everything would be amazing to teams who were snubbed or could have won a title. Keep up the work

Good video man I live in ft worth and went to Baylor so found this one close to home. Liked the quick style and recap and maybe would recommend using a little more stats throughout. All and all I like the idea of breaking down the current “state” of intriguing programs from recruits, strategy, success and stand out games within the CFB world or all sports. Keep up the good work!
As a Cheerleader ('15-'19), here is a little food for thought:
- Fan Support at games in person is horrible -- it's predominantly older people and students. It is much louder in stadiums elsewhere in the BIG 12. It's never really full or "at capacity"
- Away games were even worse, especially games played at AT&T (Cowboys) Stadium. We had little turnout at very large away games like the BIG 12 Championship in 2017? Just glancing at the stands, you would quickly be able to see the huge difference between purple and the other team's color.
- I think this year will be lackluster from losing Duggan to illness, Blacklock, Reagor, and others to the draft.
Throw COVID into the mix and I'd put us at 4-6 this season but please for the love of god prove me wrong.

The other issue is that most of seats are sold off to opposing fans. As season ticket holder I would like the opportunity to sit lower when some rich snob doesn’t want to show up
Attendance has always been an issue for TCU. TCU has always struggled to get residents of Fort Worth, with no affiliation with the University, to attend games. There is practically no mention of TCU in other parts of FW. Plus, when a university has a tiny student population in a city the size of FW, then it is difficult for them to make their presence known.
I agree, I think ticket prices are would prevent people outside of alumni from attending , especially now with the edition of the new skyboxes, but I can’t speculate too much seeing I’ve never Bought tickets.
Agree fan support is minimal and that means small bowl bids
Thanks Cole. I enjoys these videos and the format. I was at Oregon State when TCU was really big, and I was rooting for them so hard in 2010 the surrounding years. That Rose Bowl with Dalton was one of my favorite Rose Bowls ever dispite not having a Pac 12 team appear. Hope they can turn it around!

Even though TCU has a losing record against West Virginia (WVU) as a West Virginia fan we have much RESPECT for TCU. We respect them even more than Texas.

As a K-State fan, I've had nothing but respect for TCU after they joined the Big 12. They compete and are gritty and Patterson keeps them energized. They've given us classic thrillers like the 2013 game that went to overtime. So cool to hear your perspective on things. Keep up the great work man

Fantastic video! Love that you found the Frogs. We don't get a lot of that, lol. It is frustrating to see the decline but I concur that much is based on simply not having a dominant QB and we usually don't have the 4-5 star recruits surrounding the QB to make up for mediocre QB play. BUT I grew up in the 70's and we would win 1 maybe 2 games each year so it's tough to complain. If you want to do a video on some really BAD Horned Frog football do one on TCU in the 70's! Again, great video thanks for making it! And GO FROGS!

My dad went to TCU in the late 70s and early 80s, when they were abysmal. He went to one game vs Tennessee, and they lost something like 56-7. Every time Tennessee scored, their band played "Rocky Top,' and my dad says he still has that song ringing in his ears.

I think they’re just in a rebuilding phase. 2019 tcu was second in the country behind Alabama in the amount of starting freshman. Give us another year or 2 and we’ll be back challenging for the big 12 title

Loved this video. I'm a huge TCU football fan and I am a Pennsylvania kid. One thing I would like to say though is that I don't think our record last year reflected how good we were. I think we were better than our record showed. We lost so many tough close games that it was painful.

great re-cap of the team history. one area not mentioned ... Patterson’s constantly changing coaching staff, especially the OC position. The Sonny Cumbie/Doug Meacham pairing was very successful. Meacham left the program in 2016 to be University of Kansas OC and the offense
has struggled. Meacham is back on staff but as WR, TE coach. Will be interesting how this pandemic season goes.

Miami is one of the other schools that went to all the BCS bowls. Always great that small private schools make major waves in the CFB.
First time watching, but won't be the last. Good video style! I saw Andy Dalton and Jerry Hughes when they came down to Clemson and beat us back in 09 in the pouring rain. I've really respected TCU ever since. I hope they can mount a comeback, would love to see them contend in the Big 12!

I am also a Midwest kid who grew up as a fan of TCU despite having no association with the school. Your video essay worked really well, the clips you chose fit the story you were trying to tell. It was clear that you took your time to research and that was reflected with the high quality in your video.
Thanks for the video, I've been a Horned Frog fan since 1964, the year my Father started teaching at TCU, well fast forward 57 years, I'm now an Alum of TCU, and still bleed purple! I attended TCU in the early 70's, went through the year the lost every game, and to see what Gary Patterson has done is amazing. The one thing I never understand, why quality players would rather sit on the bench at Texas, OU, or A&M, then play at TCU. I will add, TCU is committed to their athletes, they have educational facilities, and work with the athletes to see that they graduate, and I am proud of that. I've been watching your videos for a long time and even though things have been busy for me personally, I tend to binge a large amount of your videos when I have free time.
I love TCU a lot, they have a history of some of the most dynamic and explosive offensive schemes in all of college football and probably the most interesting use of the air raid offense in college sports. 2014 specifically was an insane year and even though I grew up a die hard OSU fan from my parents, it broke my heart to see then snubbed.
I think there is just too much politics in the college football committee that doesnt give smaller private teams more of a chance to perform. When they do, we can see the naysayers point to what happen to Notre dame and other teams to not give them a chance.
It's a shame they haven't been as good recently and it also sucks to see the only news revolving them right now is about that controversy which dampens the rep of TCU as a whole.
Great job on the videos man and keep at it, the format for the downfall is unique and I think you bring an interesting voice to the college football space. Us long time fans will continue to watch and I have a feeling that you will gain a lot more traction in the future. Keep on that grind and I look forward to your next video.

As an OU fan, I went to the OU vs TCU game in Ft Worth in 2018 and then the OU vs TCU game in Norman in 2019 and TCU is always a great opponent. I had a great time at both games. I always know when TCU is up next on the schedule it's gonna be a big fight. Props to the Frogs for having a great football program.

Was a student there in 2014....nothing hurt more than waking up and seeing that ranking drop....Got a chance to attend the Peach Bowl though. No one can convince me that team wasn't the best in the country that year
