Hahaha 🤣 thanks I’m sharpening that thing now. Tight Lines Mark 🤙🏻
@@FishAholicTV you too Rich
I like the surprise of saltwater fishing. Never know what's going to bite or , what you're going to get.
also, when bottom fishing with the heavier egg sinkers (1 to 4 oz. depending upon the current that day), we drifted (did not have an electric motor) and dropped to the bottom and then left the reel in free spool thumbing it for probably 20 to 30 yards, if something grabbed it, it would run off and you wait a few seconds and then nail them, if not, you engage the reel, reel up, check the bait, and do it again, you cover a lot more ground that way and have a better shot at encountering more than just bonito
I have been offshore fishing for over 40 years and I think there seems to be a new trend of toll trolling a little too quick sometimes . we used to catch a lot of super big kingfish trolling 3 to 5 miles an hour with feather Jigs and cigar minnows . and we'd also catch a lot of mahi that way something to think about.
Love you man……..It’s genuinely heartwarming to watch your channel……such variety, your very entertaining.A great guy.
Thanks so much Tony!!! Tight Lines!!
Here from Instagram… love the offshore stuff so sick to see mahi in that close.
I've been watching for like two years
Nice to see you're doing big things thousands of miles away with the same "just happy to be here" attitude
forgot to add that we used whole frozen sardines (i guess the fresh mullet would be a better alternative) with their tails cut off to help reduce their spin and you dropped them to the bottom, hooked through both eyes, also, if you are going to use a lighter weight, try chopping up some bonitos into small chunks and chum with them, it could bring some yellowtail or other stuff up off of the bottom to your baits (we had success doing this too with the endless supply of bonito around)
Great Mahis! Looking forward to catch some of them. Greetings from Germany!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed!! Tight Lines over there!
We caught Mahi just outside of Moriches inlet, just off of Cupsouge a few years ago. We also got Spanish macks that same year. We were shocked, to say the least.
That’s the best time lapse I’ve seen. Nothing like an early morning on the water
Thanks Colin, I'm glad you liked it! I almost didn't add it because I didn't like it. But I can be my own worst critic haha. Tight Lines!!
That was so much fun watching!!! Trying to learn how to offshore fish for upcoming keys trip. I don’t know where to start
Thanks so much!!! Hope you have some success down there. I'm going to try and get out offshore again soon!
Another great episode of 'Fishing with aholic " .. Great Stuff. Always enjoy the NY Series. Thank you Sir!
Hi Rich...Love your film editing and as always, great fishing trip. Thank you for bringing me along!!
Hi Andrew, glad to hear and thanks so much!!! Tight Lines!
More blue water fishing please!
Who else wants to see some more blue water videos!!!
Man rich… i really love this offshore fishing as well as the snook. Amazing video bro. Jus picked up a new stradic for my inshore setup
Super action, great video. Thanks Rich!
I found myself binge-watching every episode so far. I live in Florida and love our fishery, and as a bayou fisherman I am wanting to catch a Mahi Mahi. Can I charter you, and what is the cost. I will save up.
Hey subscribed after seeing you fish the 7 mile bridge in a kayak! Rad stuff brother, visited a friend in Ft. Lauderdale and we decide to take my 16ft stinger bay boat out to fish the 7mile caught lots of stuff. This was a week ago. Did some chumming, only had a mangrove snapper to keep! Weather got bad on us had some big seas had to come in.
Anyway keep up the good work looking forward to some more great catches!
Hey what kind of boat are you fishing? Feel like it’s a perfect mix for flats and offshore. Cheers 🍻
I would try a bit more weight to get to the bottom for muttons, aj's, etc. I fished off of Jupiter on my cousin's boat many times and if you can get the baits past the bonito to the bottom, there is a variety of fish (we usually fished 80 to 140 feet) such as porgies, sand tilefish, toros, muttons, other snappers, and various groupers.
whenever i go offshore i rig ballyhoo on one of the plugs and that one tends to be the one to get the bite before the bare plugs do. sometimes they prefer it
We miss you fishing on Long Island!🐟
Sorry Michael! I’ll be back haha
I wish I could go offshore like this more often but I don’t know anyone that would take me and I don’t have a boat so I usually just go during tournaments and other than that I stick to inshore (hence the name, referencing tarpon)
Great stuff loved it bro👍👍💯💯
Mannnn I want a mahi SO bad. Awesome catches y’all!
We want a sailfish jejeje, I hope you got one soon, boat fishing excellence 🚤🐟
As usual awesome video !!@@# mann I think I enjoy your fishing videos more than u enjoy fishing lol it's crazy...... keep them coming loving the offshore videos never really saw people use mullet tho different 💯💯❤
great viedeos !! hi from la paz bcs MEXICO
You should link up w Adam from moving weight and get on some more of the offshore stuff
Awesome vid. So are you trolling on top water in hundreds of feet of water? I'm not an Ocean guy so just trying to learn/understand.
Nice video - congrats on the Cobia
Love the offshore vids!
Awesomeness
Consider zig-zaggen a little when trolling, it will create speed diffences and variet movement of the lure. Also depth changes of your planer or kuusamo is good way to intice a bit. Also have you ever considered getting a Panoptix transducer, gives a whole different view for both trolling and jigging.
Thanks for the tip but yeah we did a lot of zig zagging haha. Tight Lines 🤙🏻.
@@FishAholicTV NP, if you ever consider coming to Europe, more precisely Denmark, I love take you out on the boat for some fishing.
i love ur boat its so nice
Love it thank you
Bonita is good eating broski
Wonder when the b triple tail were going to get noticed! Lol
As usual, GREAT Stuff! Your production quality and especially your productivity really put you at the top of fishing UA-camrs! I like to support other YTers but getting real tired of once a month content providing. Keep on rocking it Dude; you’re the best! Ps great to see your buddy get his first Mahi.
I wish I could meet you ur my fishing idol I love your videos and all ur content
Thanks so much!! Maybe I can think of a cool way to do a channel meet up!
Is there a difference to the Bonita you were catching and the albies that run up to Rhode Island and the sound in the fall?
They're the same species just using Florida lingo.
Good Fishing
Hey bro awesome video and catches! Have you considering fishing outside of USA? Maybe in Asia?
A stainless steel public cleaning table ! Nice. What ramp is this ?
Palm City Boat ramp. I think there was at one point a wood or plastic cutting board on top of it but during a storm it blew away.
Great video bro, thank you.
Thanks so much Gerard!!! Tight Lines!
man when was this? been looking to go out of SLI for past month but forecast has constantly shown 3+ ft waves
Fun video!
oke... nice
Do you fish on east or west coast
yay offshore vid
I’ve got it on my mind! Hopefully I can do it!
Massive jack are the best
Hate it when people say they are trash. Iam a chartet capt and absolutely love them. You nailed it
Yeaahhh I’ve got a pretty cool video coming up catching some big ones.
Why do you never bring enough ice? So frustrating lol
Haha idk if I’m going keep fish sometimes.
Dude, Rich! What's with the "Jack the Ripper" gaff attempt?
damn im early to this one
Are bonito fish big?
Nobody:
This man’s videos: uhhh uhhh uhhh

Microfiche 😁
Lol they call them slingers at that size for a reason
Where are you from ❓🎣
Bonitos are really not worth releasing. Because of their really hard fight theur veins in their gills usually pop and they bleed out.
Hey🇯🇲
10:27... Hungry?
Up
Mmmmmmm,, Mahi 👀👅
Noob. Still, count it as a good day out on the water! 😎
Bro turn that clicker off
Yeah I was being lazy. Normally I do. Sorry for the annoying noise. Tight Lines!
Uh
Such a pity your using music to, I’ll have to delist from your programs
We wont miss you !
Wow man your buddy got lucky with that planer line. When you asked him to reel it in he was wrapping the line around his hands. If a Wahoo or King sock that thing he is screwed. Good stuff man. I sent you a DM on Insta
It already had a Bonita on it. It just didn’t look like much because it was on the heavier rod and I edited out a chunk to when he was pulling it in.
Hmm I’ll check me DMs sorry If I haven’t gotten back. I haven’t seen it yet.
You ever cut up the Bonita's and use from for chum square great to bring fish around you
Uh
