Hi I just got a 22 Niro EV but my biggest gripe about this car is unavailable LED headlights. Now after you switched them out, are there any danger of LED headlight burning too hot and melting plastic housings??? I had that happening in mid 90s on my Maxima after I put in LED lights... P.s.. can you use that same LED bulbs on headlight and fog lights as well?
It's a good idea to park the car in front of a wall or garage door. With the old bulbs on, mark the light level on the wall with masking tapes. After the replacement, adjust the light to the previous level of the masking tapes.
The same Dome bulb is also used in the trunk for my Niro LX standard Hybrid. not sure about the EV but id image its the same. Great tutorial i used it this evening.
I did the same upgrades back in Aug 2019 and all bulbs are still working. I did replace the 20W LED HL as the NiroEVJ but had that replaced with 40Watt version of the AUXITO earlier in 2020. 20W version is little brighter than halogen when it warms up but 40W version is as bright as the OEM Corolla/Camry single LED lights so I am super happy with the new 40W version of AUXITO. I have replaced, all halogen/incandescent bulbs to LED which includes DL, backup, interior/cargo and even the turn signal. AUXITO makes bulb with load resister so it's plug -n-play. I think turn signal bulbs are "too" bright IMHO.
Thanks for the video, getting the Canadian spec Touring trim . Saw another video where the dealer replaced the KIA front and rear badges with a prettier stylized "K" one.

Nice vid!! Do you know if the front parking lights can be made into a turn signal and use a switchback bulb [would work in unison with orig bulb amber turn signal?
Much appreciated and stoked to see decent LED bulbs available. I made the mistake of trying some of the first gen bulbs on the sides and tails on our '08 Prius a few years back yeah didn't go so well. Started flickering out after a month. But then again I think we might have an electrical issue in general with that car in the headlight system because I seem to burn through standard halogens about every six-eight months. At this point though it's not really cost effective to have it diagnosed. In my '04 Matrix the lights seem to last for years. Does this mod actually save you energy output as displayed in the road trip video?
I don't think they make that much difference in terms of power savings. They save about 80 watts. I just like the way they look and how much brighter they are. Any range benefits though would be hard to notice.
What about the interior trunk light? I had popped the cover of the light off... but then the light housing fell completely out. Anything I can do to rescue it?

Nice job on this video! I only wish you would have spent a little time talking about why a Kia EV owner would want to do this. Do you know if the reduction in the use of electricity is substantial? Also do you know if doing this ordered nullify your warranty?
The reason I did this was to make all the lights in the front the same color. The Led running lights were a different color from the headlights and fog lights. I didn’t think it looked good. Electric savings played no part in my decision to swap them out. Don’t know why it would void the warranty. I have the old bulbs in the glove box in case of failure but have had no issues with the new bulbs.
@@niroevj3477 thanks for this niro ev bulb installation video--- is there better visibility with the LED headlight bulbs now vs the stock halogens? Thanks!
For nullifying the warranty read the Magnus and Moss Act. Mostly that is BS from the manufacturer that X will void the Warranty. By the act the manufacturer must show that the modification was directly responsible for the damage, in court, and they cannot just void your entire warranty for any single modification. Most parts aside from the drive train don't have that long of a warranty. They are going to have to do some gymnastics to prove that changing a bulb some how did damage to the drive train.

There are a lot of illegal LEDs installed in cars in the Uk which dazzle oncoming drivers which I wouldn’t want to do.
J P as long as you install them in the proper orientation they have the same exact footprint as the original bulbs. I have been using them for a few weeks now and no one has flashed at me. Thanks for the question!
NiroEvJ thanks for that. Does the angle adjustment of the bulbs still work via the 1-3 roller knob thing near the steering wheel so you can adjust the aim up and down depending on the car’s load?
J P that is built into the housing the bulb sits in and has nothing to do with the bulb so it should not affect that feature at all. As long as it is installed properly you will not notice any difference other than the brightness. In the US version of the car the high beams work by the housing tilting the bulbs up and it works perfect with the new bulbs

Dan5ta Dawg you should not need relays. The only thing I can think of is the polarity was off. You need to flip the connector around and reconnect. That is typically the problem when they do not turn on. It would also explain why you are getting a check bulb message. Give it a try. You may just have them plugged in backwards

I noticed that the NiroEV with the factory LEDs have a a different projector housing than those with the Halogen bulbs. I was wondering how have your LED's held up these past 5 months in the Halogen housings? Thanks for a great and informative video.
Work just as good as when I installed them. While I agree with some others that led's do not do as well in a projector housing, as long as you have the right led made for projector housings then it should not be an issue if installed correctly. Thanks for the question!
paulie3jobs there is only one dealership in NJ that has them that I know of. Coleman Kia in Ewing NJ. Las time I checked they had 2 in stock and get more every so often. That’s where I got mine. Will be a drive for you but it’s worth it.
slickAfoe G check the link in the description. That is the one I used. The actual bulb housing adjusts the beam when you set it to high. You can hear the actuator move when you hit the high beam
Sumir Uddin no errors. The only errors I got were when I changed the fog lights but that was easily fixed. The 2020 Niro is almost exactly the same so I would think they were the same but cannot be sure unless I saw one
It was worth it to me because the running lights and the headlights were two different colors. You had yellow and white. I did not personally think it looked good. Now all the lights are white and I think look great. Plus it saves some energy but that is not a good enough reason to change them out.
This is what i have done to 2019 Niro HEV; * AUXITO 9005-LED Headlight Bulbs [Amazon] * AUXITO 912 921 LED Backup Light Bulbs. [Amazon] * CIIHON H11 H8 H9 LED Fog Light Bulb 1800 Lumens 6000K. [Amazon] * all interior LED conversion [Walmart] for AUXITO 9005-LED, lock mount come as high-beam because it's intended as DRL. For Niro, rotate 180 degree so it will mount as low-beam [match the halogen]. author did a good job explaining the shape and intended focus but didn't show the rotation. All said and done, it was very easy and any novice can do it. for the brightness of AUXITO 9005-LED, it's little brighter than halogen that replaced. like typical LED, it looses some brightness after it warms up so it will look much brighter first 5-10 mins and it settles to little brighter than halogen it replaced. front side marker in Niro is 163 series, using 193 will not be bright enough. also using white LED color bulbs will reduce the brightness in amble cover. in other words, match the color to amble for best performance. tail lamps in NIro are LEDs except for FE [base model].

You can not just relay on your garagedoor to ensuring the right way of LED lights. You must not only concern about other traffic from cars, but also cyclists and motorcycle! Changing lights on your car, must be done by professionals and check't by the traffic authorities. Daily I'm mad about all these cars, who give me a lots of hinder on my rear mirror.
I tried this message, but unfortunately I didn’t get too far because after I took the circular caps off, I noticed that I wasn’t able to unscrew it at all, and I looked inside with a light to see why only to find out that they had screws on them, and it is impossible for me to get to those screws without taking multiple other things apart which I do not have the time for Really wish I had the EX version for this purpose alone. My situation is a bit weird because I don’t even know why my light is out. I took it back where I got it from and all they did was put another battery in there and that fixed it now today about 34 days later now the front right headlight is out this time and I’m like WTF🤬😤😤😤at this point. Electric vehicles are fun/cool at times some of them but because of small all of a sudden issues like this out of nowhere, this is what makes me miss a gas vehicle, which I never had these random small problems with at all not once. Any problem I’ve ever had with a gas vehicle it was always normal and because of something either I did or something someone else do you or whatever the case is at least shit didn’t just happen right out of the blue and just stop working like it does in these damn electric vehicles

Btw I'm in California and my car has stock halogens I hate the yellow light from the halogens and I havent got any leds to work. Please help I tried everything.
Dan5ta Dawg you should not need relays. The only thing I can think of is the polarity was off. You need to flip the connector around and reconnect. That is typically the problem when they do not turn on. It would also explain why you are getting a check bulb message. Give it a try. You may just have them plugged in backwards

Go info, and he didn’t even say thank you. I will though thanks 🙏 🇬🇧
Thanks for the vid!
I just got the same LED headlamp bulbs from the video, and they honestly dont illuminate the roadway as well as the stock Sylvanias. Any other LED bulbs I can put on my Niro?
Are you sure they are installed in the correct orientation? Mine are super bright. You can put any bulbs you would like as long as they have the some connector. I would stick with good fanless led's however.
Hi, I have the Kia niro 2020 ev will these fit my car NOVSIGHT 9005(HB3/H10) LED Headlight Bulb White 6000K, 2Pcs 10000LM 50W Car Headlight Bulbs Conversion Kit, Super Bright Waterproof Replacement for Halogen Headlight on Amazon uk thanks
Hi Iam in the uk and purchased these lights on Amazon from US. But the plug connector is different and the locking ring on the bulb is different . Any ideas on the UK spec. My car is a 2019 model
I’m really sorry but I do not know the spec for the UK Niro. Maybe check a UK Niro forum. Wish I could help. Niroevj
These only cover the low beam correct?
Trying to find them as they’re no longer available on Amazon
There is only one bulb in the Niro 2019 EV. The "high beams" are just adjusting the direction of the low beams, and refocusing them.
@@jeremyharris2998 thank you for the help!
Do you have any night shot? I'd love to see the difference at night! :)
I see that you are in NJ. Where did you purchase the car? I am in Bergen County and there are none to be found up here.
paulie3jobs there is only one dealership in NJ that has them that I know of. Coleman Kia in Ewing NJ. Las time I checked they had 2 in stock and get more every so often. That’s where I got mine. Will be a drive for you but it’s worth it.
I am in NJ and had to go to Yonker NY to buy my Niro EV
Odd this car in ev version would use a halogen bulb. Too bad there are zero youtube videos about the niro HID variant (2018 niro touring).
Anyone got a new link to the bulb?
Hi,I have a niro phev, but the main headlights are hi/lo hb3 halogen types,my question is,does the EV version have separate dip lights?
The EV has a single bulb for Hi/Low
@@niroevj3477 yup,so does my one.The one that put in your niro is a hi/low bulb, right?
slickAfoe G check the link in the description. That is the one I used. The actual bulb housing adjusts the beam when you set it to high. You can hear the actuator move when you hit the high beam
Do these work on the PHEV LX trim?
Same as 2020?
did you get any error on the dashboard and is all the bulb same on 2020 niro plugin hybrid
Sumir Uddin no errors. The only errors I got were when I changed the fog lights but that was easily fixed. The 2020 Niro is almost exactly the same so I would think they were the same but cannot be sure unless I saw one
@@niroevj3477 thanks mate
Did you have to get resistors for the main front lights?
Not for the headlights. Only fog lights
@@JellyMoto Thanks!
Are these any batter then the originals?
Better in the sense that they are all the same color. Also use less electricity.
@@niroevj3477 I see thank you
I found that LED in projector housings aren't as good as HIDs.
Can you expand more on this? Why? Pictures?
is it worth it to change them?
It was worth it to me because the running lights and the headlights were two different colors. You had yellow and white. I did not personally think it looked good. Now all the lights are white and I think look great. Plus it saves some energy but that is not a good enough reason to change them out.
@@niroevj3477 saving energy is good enough, thats why we drive electric.
This is what i have done to 2019 Niro HEV;
* AUXITO 9005-LED Headlight Bulbs [Amazon]
* AUXITO 912 921 LED Backup Light Bulbs. [Amazon]
* CIIHON H11 H8 H9 LED Fog Light Bulb 1800 Lumens 6000K. [Amazon]
* all interior LED conversion [Walmart]
for AUXITO 9005-LED, lock mount come as high-beam because it's intended as DRL.
Hi I can not see which bulbs these are
I put links for them in the description

Sorry 😐 looked properly now ! How are they compared to the halogens originally in? Can you see a lot better spread ? Thank you
Im going to be possibly ordering in September when facelift will show in one of the car shows in Germany
@@kevinotten5820 I think personally that they are brighter and have the same spread as the halogens. Hi Beam is much better and overall I am much happier having all of the lights on the front of the car the same color.
Those led's are horrible comparing to NOVSIGHT 9005 on Amazon. Try and thank me later
