I saw Blade Runner on its release in the summer of '82 at the transitional age of 19. The score by Vangelis transfixed and transported me into the world on screen. When this piece came up for the end credits I remained rooted to my seat, barely noticing most of the audience already shuffling out. How could anyone possibly leave while this driving, enveloping, sonic cocoon carried one into another dimension of timelessness? Vangelis is to me The God of Synth. This rendition is a masterful and faithful homage to a piece of 1980s magic that will be appreciated for many decades to come. 😊
Never ever leave the cinema before the score has come to its end! You will miss in many cases the coolest outtakes and other funny stuff … For my wife and me this was our golden rule in cinemas back in da good‘ol‘days
Same here. I couldn't leave, and this wasn't even my kind of music! I was into heavy metal rock ( and I still am), but this had me hypnotized 42 years ago. The only other time I stayed after a movie ended was for the closing credits of " Law Abiding Citizen." I had never heard that song until then.
Certainly, this musical theme is epic. I also don't understand how someone who has followed the film can leave the movie theater while these final bars are playing. They are chilling...
Beautiful, just beautiful arrangement. I remember watching BR at the local cinema a few years ago. The movie ends and the end titles come on. People are leaving the theatre while the credits are rolling. I'm, of course, glued to my seat and not going anywhere until the house lights finally come on to witness this musical masterpiece in its entirety. 😉
I was fortunate enough to see BLADE RUNNER on its first weekend, in September, 1982, at the ABC Shaftesbury Ave., in 6-track magnetic, and 70mm. I'll never forget it. The score remains not only my favourite Vangelis record, but an all-time top 10 score, for me. The film is my second favourite, ever, and, yes, I stayed glued to my seat, through the end titles.
@@richardconnold5207 That is really incredible - to have seen it on the opening weekend! Thanks for replying to my comment. I got a notification and it made me watch this incredible performance by Kebu one more time!

It was twice re released recently (last time in November) and I took the full experience. Hearing the end titles blast in a large hall was something amazing!
I watch this movie since i was a kid, and i'm 43 years old now. holding tears like a fucking idiot right now. First time ever seeing this song being executed live magically and perfectly. Vangelis' Blade Runner soundtrack, Kanno Yōko's Cowboy Bebop Soundtrack, Nujabes/Tsutchie/Fat Jon/Forces Of Nature Lo-Fi Chill Hop soundtrack for Samurai Champloo are my top 3 soundtracks, the 1st Terminator and John Carpenter's The Thing are also up there.
