  • Introducing the ’Super Scanner’ brand pickup series from Cream T. Our premium pickup sets are 100% exacting electronic reproductions from acclaimed players known everywhere.
    Our first release, the Billy F Gibbons set, the “WhiskerBucker”, reproduces the sound of BFG's famous 6-string electric, his ’59 ‘Burst, known around the world as “Pearly Gates” which continues to play a starring role on stage and studio recordings with BFG & ZZ Top. Opening with ZZ Top’s First Album, through Billy’s ongoing solo works, the famed guitar sound of “Pearly Gates” is still regarded as one of the fiercest guitar tones in classic blues and rock ’n roll!
    Utilising our patented analog spectrum recorder, developed exclusively here at Cream T Pickups, it is now possible to recreate 100% mirror-imaging of legendary pickups across the board. We now offer our line of pickups with accurate historical response in our ’Super Scanner’ series, delivering the power and performance of guitar sounds of acclaimed performers, studio session players and stage celebrities known everywhere. The admiration shared by us here at Cream T and the many fans of the stars and their rich, warm recognisable guitars, drew us to develop and offer the new ’Super Scanner’ series.
    From pure and simple warmth to the punch of vintage rawness, the range in the ’Super Scanner’ series is sure to satisfy.
    'Whiskerbucker' pickups are available now at www.creamtpick...

    Just received my bridge whiskerbucker today and i have to say. Hell yeah!!! They sound fantastic and what's immediately noticable is how harmonics friendly they are and i didn't played with the amp turned up yet. Yes, they sound like they do in this video. Not too much promised.

    I’d like to add that Billy is an artist, designed his guitar pin striping and drew that logo of himself on the inside of the lid flap of that box

    The off menu Pearly Gates are the only way to go. Production model Pearlys are wrong. These are pretty close to those. I don’t know what you would do with the fancy box after you install the pickups.

      It appears according to Tim and Tom at Cream T. The Seymour Duncan version have nothing to do with Billy Gibbons. Nor do they sound anything like his. As for magnet's? Cream T don't appear to give this information on any pickups in their range.

      @@natrelacoustix I have the Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates bridge pickup and found it to be pretty good. Not too high output, not too low. Gives you a nice grinding sound but not heavy... It would be interested to hear the difference b/w this and the Cream T.

      Spent a year down this rabbit hole, dozens of pickups, a magnetometer to read gauss levels. Readings from real PAFs. In short, Alnico II and 550K pots. Much can be done with just distance to strings and adjusting pickup screws--try it. Antiquities are great, Throbaks look the most historic, but it's all in the hands. Put Scumback M65 speakers in your cabinet for the first album tone. Adjust your amp sound with the guitar on 5, then turn up. Billy has the lightest touch, so I had to refine my playing. He made me a better player by giving me a better ear.

    Shouldn’t you never place magnets near guitar pickups ?? Doing so can weaken the pole piece pull and therefore changing your guitar's tone?

    I will have to have a set of these bad boys when the budget allows! :) One question though, why the use of aged aluminum for the covers instead of the usual (and historically accurate) nickel?

    • @georgemueh3273
      @georgemueh3273 4 роки тому +3

      Nickel and copper although not magnetic do have an effect on the magnetic property of the pickups. Aluminum is the best metallic choice for the covers.
      It's the same reason guys removed the covers. It really is a thing. Some can hear the difference and others don't have a clue.
      It is also why some pickups have a brass base plate or nickel base plate.
      Im sure the (tone wood dosen't matter guys) will jump all over this....lol

    • @RickMcCargar
      @RickMcCargar 2 роки тому +1

      @@georgemueh3273 Did Billy take the covers off Pearly Gates? Or, are all the classic records of his PAF pickups, covered with the historically accurate nickel? Not a big fan of people selling things that are unlike the equipment they used when they became famous.

    • @georgemueh3273
      @georgemueh3273 2 роки тому +1

      @@RickMcCargar Pearly Gates has the original covers on it. But yea a lot of companies try to replicate original pickups without using the original materials. Hell for the longest time Gibson couldn't even make a historically accurate burst.

      Started, i believe, with Apple iPods/iPhones. Because Apple was obsessively dedicated to its packaging as well as its product design. As a designer, i could deal with those initial 'unboxing' things, because it represented a respect for the design effort. In this instance, the pickup manufacturer went to some great lengths to package the product, so, hey-fine. What absolutely kills me, though, is that every goddamned youtuber does an "unboxing video" for every goddamned cheap ass piece of cardboard their product comes in. It's moronic. But, somehow, the youtube 'algorithms' reward it, because-you guessed it-there are enough morons in the audience that it still appeals to them. And even if it doesn't and you're as 'offended' as i am, you're not likely to click out of a video just because it also contains an unboxing. So, basically, we're screwed.
