I wonder if the 4 banger has the same problems as the 3.5. everyone loved the 4.0. also a manual transmission would let it sling more oil out of the pan. I can't tell if it's hydro locked or a rod went missing. Or both because that would cause a bent rod.
I don't drive a Toyota personally but let's be real this can happen to any vehicle, internal engine failures happen and are sometimes undetectable until the engine fails.
@@jeffhess7130 I have a 2002 F150 thats still running strong, it has been super dependable, engine transmission have never even been opened, all stock components except for some wear and tear items like tie rods, resealed the rear pinion seal once, and replaced water pump once. Even the alternator and starter are stock. And take into consideration that I off road this truck. I dont doubt Toyotas are good trucks, but some people act as if they never fail, as if they are indestructible when they certainly arent. Id still take a Toyota over a Chevy or a Ram thats for sure.
@@adamnelson7067 I have a 2002 Toyota that ran idk how many miles without cooling fluid (previous owner...) and it still runs like a charm and starts with the first crank. Also never had any engine problems at all
Due to the angle oil gets into the manifold, causing the smoking.. the engine failure comes from lack of oil, due to the lack of a baffled oil pan.

This is due to the steep angle at which the vehicle is climbing. The oil gets burned.
Oil pooling at the back. Hopefully an aftermarket fix in the works

Did you install a catch can to help PCV oil re-burn? Any solution to this yet?
you just posted the fix
Toyota, having the highest market share, is good at masking engine failures from the public!
But, but, but Toyotas are supposed to run forever. ☹️
catch can probem solved
It’s not damaged. It just burnt some oil, check his videos he retried
They do run forever, I have a 2003 & still running "Strong" & it has been "Stellar Awesome Dependable" !! 👍👍

High load, steep incline... can happen to any vehicle.
Nope. More like no dry sump. No baffle in oil pan. Poor oil drainage design. They shoved a Camry motor in a Tacoma.
WHAT HAPPENED THATS NOT NORMAL FOR A TACOMA????????
