Some of my favorite contemporary romance authors are Becky Wade, Denise Hunter, and Pepper Basham. Thanks for sharing these books. I've enjoyed several of them.

I have read several of these--and really enjoyed them! I have the Christmas novellas that go with The Secrets of Paper and Ink. I didn't get to them this past Christmas, but hope to this year. It is a shame Bethany Turner dropped the faith in her books. I still enjoy her writing, mostly, but I liked it even more with the faith included. She tackled tough topics in such a unique way. My favorite contemporary Christian romances are Love and a Little White Lie, My Hope Next Door, The Secret Life of Sarah Hollenbeck, The Story People and Dear Henry, Love Edith. I just started reading in this genre again over the last year or two and am impressed with what is out there now. 😊

You mentioned some that I’d like to get to in the future. I’ve heard such a lot about Tammy L Gray and Becca Kinzer 😃

I really liked Sarah Hollenbeck. Several people online said it was to steamy, but I didn’t think it was bad. She’s a romance writer, so that kind of goes with the character. I liked her transformation in the story. I had forgotten about that book by her. You have a good list as well! 😊

Ooohhhh, I read and loved The Secrets of Paper and Ink but had no idea it was first in a series! I thought it was a standalone. Going to hunting those down for sure. Thanks for sharing! I can never say 'favourite' in relation to a book -- they are all my favourites! But I will mention one book that made a huge impression on me this year. Trust the Stars by Tricia Goyer. It has a royal romance element so comparable to Rachel Hauck's and Toni Shiloh's. It has a phenomenal faith thread and such deep layers in the story! A bit of a dual timeline, though the majority of the book is in present day.

Have you read Love & Other Great Expectations by Becky Dean? I really enjoyed that one! Becky is a Christian and I thoroughly appreciated little Easter eggs she dropped in the book referring to the Narnia books and the faith of C.S. Lewis. Her book is technically a Contemporary YA Romance I believe.

Hi Lou, you seem like such a sweet person and admire so much that you spotlight faith books and discussions. I was pretty saddened/disappointed that in one of your videos (not this video), but you said that you DNF'd a book because it featured some Catholic praying. I'm Catholic but I identify first and foremost as a Christian, just as I think most Protestants would identify as Christians, rather than naming their denomination. We are all Christians and I feel like that is what should matter the most, in Heaven both Catholics and Protestants will one day worship together again at the same Altar. In this very divisive world, we Christians need to stay united as much as possible. I've read books where I felt just a teeny bit uncomfortable when the LDS church is mentioned etc...but I gloss over it and keep reading because I'm just so happy and grateful that Christian books are still being read and published in today's crazy, secular world. Anyways, just a thought :-)...might not continue watching your channel b/c of the negative comment towards Catholics, but still appreciate you...God bless!

Thanks for you comment Rebecca. I appreciate you taking the time to share. I can assure you that I don't have anything personal against Catholic Christians. I have worked with people in the Catholic church before who have a genuine faith in Jesus. If you're referring to the book the Rose and the Thistle, the only thing I didn't like was when one of the characters prayed to Mary. That made me uncomfortable so I decided to stop reading the book. I've read other books that have Catholic main characters. For instance, Melanie Dickerson writes medieval fiction which is set before the Protestant church began. I don't really mind which denomination a person belongs to, but if a book mentions something that I believe is not biblical then I may DNF it or finish it and mention it in my review.
Thanks for sharing your perspective 😃

Hi Lou! I liked Wooing Catie as well. All the 80s movie mentions were fun for me. I also liked her book about the TV Chefs. My favorite of Katherine Reay is Escape to Austen. It’s not so much romance, but more friendship. They go to a Jane Austen retreat in Bath for like 2 weeks. My favorite by Rachel Hauck is The Writing Desk, but I agree that 5th Avenue is also really good. I loved her book called Love Starts with Elle. That whole series was good. Oh, I was hoping you’d include Close to You. I like how they both had a deep issue they were dealing with. I plan on rereading it this year. Oh. All that Really Matters was good. I had to pull through at the beginning, but her transformation and growth was worth it. This was a great collection! I always enjoy the spring books by Melody Carlson for their sweet romances often with characters a little older in their 30s or 40s. I also liked Shadow in Serenity by Terry Blackstock because of the Music Man vibes it gave me. Sit Stay Love by Nancy Metnick was so fun. I have so many I like…I can’t forget to mention Every Dog Has His Day by Janice Thompson. We are so lucky to have a good selection with Christian fiction. Blessed! Thanks for sharing your favs!

You mentioned some I haven’t heard of, thank you 😀 I have the whole dog series on my Tbr for the future because I love cosy mysteries. I didn’t realise it had some good romance in it too. That sounds great 😁

@@ChristianFaithAndFiction I read the 5th book first and it has the cutest sounding wedding that was set in a barn. There are like 3 little romances going on in that book of the series. The grandma, the main girl, and the cousin all have suitors. So sweet! You’ll enjoy them for sure.

Thank you for the recommendations! You should check out what matters most by Courtney Walsh, that book was the book that got me started in Christian books that kind of touched base with heavier topics in Christian books, I mainly shied away from those, the romance was good too. Tammy L Grays Love and a little white lie is good as well and then on the lighter side but with strong faith is The breakup project by Carolyn Miller.
