The Nature of Love, Storm Warning, An Overdue Match, and Midnight on the Scottish Shore. I've only heard a small portion of an earlier Monzen release, and I haven't read anything from Sara Sundin for some time.

I need to catch up on my Roseanna M White - I'm behind! Also, I'm about to pick up If the Boot Fits, and I'm looking forward to it.

So many books I'll need to add to my TBR now! My favorite Christian fiction of last year was the vanishing at castle Monroe by Jaime Jo Wright. I also loved her newest book, the specters in the glass house.

I agree that "Swanford Abbey" is slow but it's worth it.

I think having both an enjoyment and Christian faith rating is a perfect idea, and one I'll probably use in the future when I read or recommend Christian fiction. I briefly mentioned the book I self published January 1st, "A Hedge Of Fire," but I don't think it would really be a book you would rate high on enjoyability and I don't expect you to read it. 😅 It's a retelling of Genesis 1-11 and Job, taking at least one idea from every chapter in Job and the pre-Abrahamic Genesis story, giving it a 3/3 in the Christian faith rating, but it would also have a -1.5 in the area of how not to treat someone who is grieving and suffering, similar to some of the heartless speech you find from Job's friends in the book of Job. Your enjoyability might also depend on if you like heavy psychological thrillers that occasionally veer into horror. It's getting good reviews on Amazon, but it's not a relaxing read. It's rated PG-16, and about the length of a Narnia book. This is my own rating system used on my book, ranked by readers, going from worst to best: Humor: 1 Romance: 1.5 Secondary Characters: 3.5 Plot: 7.5 World Building: 8 Prose: 8 Main Characters: 8.5 Thought Provoking: 9 Emotional Impact: 10

It was fun to see how you ranked a couple of The Wingfeather books as well as Chuck Black's allegory of Exodus. This might be a bit of a strange question, but would you be able to mention my self piblished book that came out in January in your next video of books coming out in February? It could be a sort of honorable mention at the end that just wasn't discovered till later in January. 😅 It's called "A Hedge Of Fire." Great job, Lou! I agree with so many of these. I don’t put a faith rating, but it does factor into my overall rating. I so agree with Lady’s Guide…loved it. I read The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe for the first time in 2024 and that definitely impacted me the most spiritually.

Thank you so much for this video. I am our church librarian, and took over after the library was already established. There are so many fiction books that we have that I have not read. This will help me determine which books/authors to keep and which I should perhaps remove to make room for new to us books!

Rating for Christian content is a wonderful idea! We are always asking in my church bookclub, "Was there enough Christian content?" So many "Christian fiction" books now-a-days are very low on Christian faith content. 😢 The fiction book that had the biggest impact on me in 2024 was a reread from childhood-- "The Bronze Bow" by Elizabeth George Speare. Fantastic non-Christian book about the time of Jesus and the Zealots. Very amazing story! The best nonfiction Christian book that impacted me was "God Never Gives Up on You" by Max Lucado, a book about the life of Jacob and how we are all Jacobs.
