- The Stratagems of Helldivers 2 are a hallmark of the series. I feel like they really set the game apart from any other in its genre. But which ones are best to use? In this video, I run you through my thoughts on all of the different stratagems!

An interesting description for thermal vision 💀
In some cases yes, thermal works great for seeing through fog and smoke. Where you run into issues is if the fog is hotter then the target you’re trying to see.
I’d say that through the smoke screens in the game the bots probably run hot enough to be seen from the smoke screens dropped. But the bugs likely don’t put off enough heat to overcome the smoke temperature.
Thermal vision goggles would be so lit for the game though.
anti tank is leagues better than recoiless. doesn't waste a backpack slot, 2 shots, more damage and fast recall
There’s an achievement for killing a charger with a supply drop called “caught you by supplies”
Highly disagree with the stalwart. Not having to stop to reload outweighs the slight loss in damage, especially in the higher levels.
Plus, a ton of people don't know you can up the fire rate and then aim in first person to get rid of the recoil debuff. On PC, hold your reload button, then right-click.
Other than that fantastic list.
For console, Stalwart wins hands down. Easier to aim, reloads while running, and that magazine lasts all day!
I agree with you. The stalwart is much more versatile than the other machine gun as you can always stay on the move. And it basically turns into a minigun if you turn up the fire rate.
I think auto cannon should be S. It takes out literally everything. Bug holes, objectives, factories, the new gunships, hulks. Literally everything
I really do love the autocannon for both bugs and bots. I took it for most missions till they dropped the quasar gun recently, that thing is INSANE
Arc thrower is the best support weapon in the game and it’s not really close. The only enemy it has an issue with is the bile Titan.
A full squad with arc throwers can walk through helldive missions without ever being displaced by the hordes. Just remember to bring stratagems to deal with titans. Even works against bots, probably better as the arc thrower will kill tanks in 10-15 shots and hulks in 6-7.
Arc thrower will be the meta in a few weeks once the popular names get tired of running the rail gun and figure out that the arc thrower is just better.
I agree with you on that matter. Arc thrower is strong and it always saves me from chargers .
The flamethrower being so low after it’s been my personal fave to use gave me necessary whiplash. Thanks for this video, you put me onto the ems mprtar
for context the flamethrower was significantly buffed on the 6th to deal 50% more DPS

Guard Dog Rover is also great for spotting targets in heavy fog/dust/vegetation. Super useful on Malevelon Creek.
i have gotten hit with the rover laser but never got killed nor never killed with it teammate wise. it was what i used till i got the shield pack
I’ve only had it happens time or two so not that bad. I don’t end up using it much since I’m usually the supply pack guy for my group.

the orbital gas is actually lowkey really good. Super short cd and does kill a good amount of enemies.
My problem is my friends always run directly at it for some reason lol. I also think they may have buffed it, but haven’t taken a close look at the change logs in a bit
Kinda baffled how the autocannon and shield backpack are so low down. The AMR is also one of the only non railgun special weapons viable for Haz 7+ bots, so equally bizarre how it’s near the bottom. Same for EATs, though those are good for bugs too. Nothing comes close to railgun or anything but that’s a railgun thing. The ammo replenish and overall utility just can’t be beat sadly.
The Eagle Rocket Pods are actually very good to bring on Bots. It's capable of targeting Factories and buildings and will one-shot bot tanks. It's less useful on Hulks however as they move much faster for all rockets to hit, but beyond that I found it to be a really powerful Anti tank and building buster. Vs bugs however, it's more problematic, as Chargers move way to much for all rockets to hit and the Bile Titan itself is both pretty fast and has a small hit box for the all rockets to hit accurately, some rockets go between the legs for example and hit the ground. It is also not capable of targeting and hitting bug holes.
Trash bagged my stalwart? How dare. Boost the BPM to the max and you've got the bullet hose to end all bullet hoses. Combine it with a primary like the slugger for armor pen and your good. You become the anti-chaff, able to sweep all those little bastards off the field in a second.
The rover is great at clearing out small guys so you can focus on the large targets. It's not as dangerous as you make it out to be either.
Running both mortars can solo some missions.
You get 2 expendable rocket launchers and the cooldown is pretty short.
EMS pretty much stops enemies rather than just slowing them.

Neat i didnt know resupply is sticky. Gonna try some plays.
It’s awesome to take out chargers. It will bounce off their heads though, so try to aim for the back if you can

Grenade launcher and auto cannon. If you figure out the grenade launchers arc you can lob grenades in from more of a distance.
Autocannon you can just aim right and then and blow them up. Still unfortunately have to hit them pretty straight on though.
i never really have issues connecting with randoms
You can close bug holes and destroy factories with the re supply

Rocket pods 1 shot bile titans atleast they do when I use em seems a little low ranked

this is the silliest tier list I've ever seen, oh smoke doesn't do anything once it goes away. duh, you break contact with smoke.
also putting eagle strafe in D is an immediate skill issue
If this guy thinks the Stalwart is bad then he isn't playing on higher level bug missions where not moving isn't an option, or he is using it against bots where yeah it ain't very good. The EAT is better than the Recoilless too.

Mines are not friendly fire mechanics like you describe.
They are defensive bombs that glow red I have never seen someone step on them once.
And the HMG is incredible if you ever need to defend against bugs, it kills everything that isn’t a charger or a bile titan and even then it still melts them if you can get a angle a their weak spots.
You should have seen the last exterminate mission I did. Dropped the mines at a choke point and Iitterly had to keep calling down reinforcements every 30 seconds because people could not stop dying to the mines.
I was able to get to a random game once. But i am a beginner so idk if it even was helpful 😂

Tip for the Guard Dog: The drone will always try to stay on the right side of your screen. If you mind that, you hit yourselves and your team less with the drone.
