I'm excited for this series! I don't know many alt brands, so I'm looking forward to hearing about more of them and also about their quality, sizing, etc. I don't have the disposable income to purchase from here and there just to get a feel of the quality of the clothes, especially because some of these brands are pretty pricey, even when I wait for sales. like, I don't want to pay 50-70 euros for bad quality polyester. so for now, I just lurk longingly on the websites of the couple brands I know (mostly disturbia and lively ghosts) and make shopping carts I never buy 😅
I can't figure out whether or not you meant to make the writing blink so quickly but it took me three tries to read "As punk as a brand can be I guess" which was surprisingly entertaining.
Unfortunately if its a case of "this is so cheap that I hope they're not taking advantage of the garment workers" then it's a definite that the workers are being exploited without a doubt. Doesn't mean that its like automatically child slave labour, but even in the best case for fast fashion brands the workers are still on a tiny fraction of what we would expect of minimum wage in a country with more robust worker protections. And speaking as someone who of course has purchased fast fashion and used it until it's falling apart, that doesn't change that it is fast fashion, fast fashions issues are there regardless of whether a consumer gets their moneys worth, be it the ridiculous amount of waste from overstock, the environmentally damaging textiles and production methods used etc. The problem is most consumers (I've also been guilty of this) find it hard to see that them not buying a t-shirt could change anything, it's the individualistic approach to these issues that I think has dampened any positive change a population can have over corporations poor ethics which is a shame
So far, have been loving Dark in Love. I only have 2 dresses and one over/underskirt, but for those pieces I can say that they are rly nice AND YES the lase is the best part. Overall, I have high hopes for the brand. But what I can say about the length, they do indeed run on the shorter side on the skirts. To me that ain't a problem since in 158cm myself but for someone taller I can see how it can be troubling. The busts to me also are perfect, since I always have a problem with more western brands being very targeted towards bigger bust sizes (especially in bigger sizes like even L which I usually get) and my chest just ends up looking empty since im abt an A-B cup with no cleavage. But overall, tnx for the video, since it does give a good insight into the brand itself :)
Dark In love definitely has some of the best designs I have seen recently. I actually wound up finding your video by trying to search who designs for them. I live in a major EU city and while some shops have some of their products, the stuff I like and wear is more on the romantic/victorian/literature inspired and those pieces can only be found online. The ethics of their production is definitely sketchy, but we can't thrift everything, and getting each and every piece of clothing sewn and fitted would be madly expensive. I can't find the sewing patterns under your vid, though. Also, how much do you know about Dolls Kill line 'Widow'? Is that a separate company, just one of their projects, or something else? I really like their designs, too, but I can't find anything about them. Dolls Kill isn't exactly among the most ethical companies out there...

I'd absolutely watch a series of you reviewing these brands!

Maybe you could do some tutorials on making some gothic clothes? How to sew things etc?
are you going to cover dracula clothing????
Maybe do something like Forest Ink next?

Punkrave or Foxblood, maybe? Their sizing is a mystery to me
