Other points I forgot to make: -Agent Mason should have been the person to tie up the subplot of clearing Indy's name, whether she died or not. -They probably didn't do the cross-fade of the Paramount Pictures logo into the background because Disney owns Indy now. Must be some a legal thing, which is unfortunate. At the very least they should have kept the subtitle stating where they are and what year it is, because I completely forgot they were in the French Alps. -Mutt going off to war and dying sounds like a very Mutt thing to do. He had no interest in academia.
I thought the film was decent when I watched it. When myself and Dad talked about why it flopped, I had no idea why but Dad said that it was caused by bad writing and is probably why the WGA/SAG-AFTRA strikes occurred because of the writers not being allowed to write what they wanted without the studios having an influence over it.
I thought I read somewhere that they were in the French Alps rather than Berlin during the opener. I could be wrong. But I'm certain it's not in Berlin.
