IT'S HERE!!! Kayak Maiden Voyage! First time fishing with the Hobie Pro Angler 14 360 at Dana Point!

I only had a few hours to take out my new kayak for the first time but I was lucky enough to land a couple of fish in early spring. The water temperature is still cold (56f) so there isn't a ton of lure-based/livebait-based fishing to be done at Dana Point yet, but it's still possible to get some fish!

Love yak fishing in salt. From the the 4 years of doing it, I've learned a few things... Lose the treble tail hooks on lures, never troll and fish a lure at the same time (2 rods), one rod at a time, and go minimalistic. Too much crap is a nuisance.
