Gram for gram, matcha has more caffeine but because 5 grams are used to make a cup of gyokuro and only 2 grams are used to make a cup of matcha, the amount is lower. Matcha also has it's stems removed, which increases the caffeine content even further. I know it is confusing haha

I don't mind the bitter taste of tea, you'll taste buds will learn to adapt to it over while - thus it will began tasting more sweet.
