She was so excited and couldn’t wait to show me. I have a large table and enjoy gathering my family after church for a Sunday meal. I have been in Jerusalem several times on Shabbat and the hotels are filled with Jewish families observing Shabbat. I enjoy your videos very much.
Although I’m Christian, the devotion and kindness that you have is amazing. I grew up in a very disconnected and cruel family. I would love to experience the Orthodox Jewish lifestyle.

I believe we should not indulge in sin of screen addiction on ANY day. I don't think it's Shabbat specific! I'm a conservative Jew, so I will definitely use tech on Shabbat, but only specific to my Judaism learning or driving to a Synagogue. Should I use horses instead, to cross two cities? Can't afford it, living in an apartment 😂 My Synagogue is not close! Yeah.. Shabbat Shalom! 💙
I'm a Catholic, but I have always been interested in learning about Jewish Tradition because that's what I believe, the Tradition Our Lord Jesus would have grown up in!! Thank you so much for sharing with everybody, Jews and non-Jews alike!
Shabbat is one of the religious traditions that I wish would have been kept in Christianity, it’s such a beautiful tradition lovingly given by the Most High.
We have been friends with a Jewish family for many years. I was invited to Shabbat 2 years ago while on a work trip - they live about 5 hours from us now. Had a great time. This past year, my wife came up for the same trip and got to experience it. Always a fun time with them. We've been to two Bar Mitzvahs and have 1 more plus a Bat Mitzvah to go!
I love hearing about your family traditions. I am not Jewish, but what I have learned from watching your channel is how Shabbat is all about family and tradition. We might celebrate differently but in the end it still spiritual and about having family time.
This is so beautiful and very much appreciated. I found myself tearing up, when you were lighting the candles, because I can feel the love you have for God and your family. Thank you for inviting us into your beautiful, peaceful home- and sharing this private part of your life.
Such a beautiful way of life, how different and positive so many things in life would be if we practiced a life a prayer, healthy meals, embracing family and quieting the day in a place reflection and gratitude ❤️ Sonya, thank you for opening your home to us 🙏🏼
Thank you for this video & yes I would like to see a video about "saying good-bye to Shabbat". I was watching another woman who is also Orthodox & many of us asked her to be a bit more informative about Shabbat, but she has never responded. You have answered many of my questions. Again Thank You.
Dear Sonya, coming mysef from a bucharian home and living alone for the pase 6,5 years, iImust say that your videos are good reminders of old times and put much smile on my face. I wish you a shabbat shalom from Germany. Rachmat.
This is just the video I was hoping for. I have learned so much about your traditions from your videos but the most important day was missing. I am a Christian but I think in many of the Protestant churches we have lost the deep meaning and blessings that come from ritual and tradition. After watching this I spent time with my husband talking about how we could incorporate more intentional ritual and structure into our worship and honor God better on the Lord's Day.
I believe the first thing we Christians should do is celebrate the Sabbath on the 7th day, just like Abba told us. How in the world did HIS 4th Commandment get changed to Sunday.???
@@theresahouck3516 You should definitely follow your conscience about what day to worship but the reason most Christians worship on Sunday is because there are a number of Biblical references to the Church meeting on the first day of the week, honoring the resurrection, right from the early days. There are several references in Acts and the Epistles. Acts 20:6 and 1 Corinthians 16:2 are two places that mention gathering on the first day. Ask God in prayer, discuss with your spiritual leaders and then follow your conscience. And avoid judging others.
@@Aiko2-26-9 God will judge. His 4th commandment several times, only about 160 plus times tells us to REMEMBER HIS SABBATH. He knew we would forget. Actually if you check back in history, Constantine, the ROMAN emporer changed his Holy Sabbath Day in 321 because he was a SUN worshipper. Search and ye shall find. It is the honor of kings to search a matter out.
Jesus Christ would be proud. I am a Christian. I was raised in Catholic and Nazarene Christian churches. I always wonder about the traditions we are supposed to keep and not to keep. You seem peaceful as God wants us to be. I always do my best to listen to what God wants. I pray for discernment, ask The Holy Spirit to minister to me and to see God’s face. When I saw Jesus Christ, he said I didn’t know his name. So I looked it up and it was originally Yeshua Hamashiach. I’ve enrolled into The Hebrew University Of Jerusalem and am learning Biblical Hebrew. How beautiful and poetic is the Biblical Hebrew language. I didn’t know how many languages stemmed from Biblical Hebrew. How amazing and intricate are the things of The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit? Hallelujah! May God bless, protect, guide and minister to you and your family in Jesus Christ/Yeshua Hamashiach’s name, Amem 🙏🏼✝️
Thank you for sharing your experiences and thoughts on the Shabbat practice. I'm a Christian and many of our practices are similar. The difference is that we are not prohibited from what can be viewed as 'work'. That being said, most Christians do keep our Sundays free of labor as much as possible by preparing meals, cleaning the day before, and viewing Sunday as a day of worship and rest. Women attend church services in the Christian community; even with small children. But that's made easier because there is no prohibition against driving or riding in a vehicle. I remember Sundays as being a very special, God and family oriented day when I was a child. At Church we practice Communion once a month (some do more), and therefore we have the blessing over the wine and the bread too. Great memories. Now that I am in my 60s I try to continue that tradition.
@@davidleavitt835 Suggestion: Stop sounding self righteous. Even though you put a heart at the end, there was NO Christ love in it the comment only self righteous sarcasm. I’m a Christ follower who also keeps Shabbat, however I also follow Galatians 5:22-25. To quote you, “Try it.” Goodby and take care.🙏🏿
I grew up Christian too and went to church on Sunday. Didn't know anything about Shabbat or the Sabbath until 5 years ago. My parents certainly didn't know. I do observe the Sabbath now by myself and fellowship with another couple in their home. We don't do any of the "traditions" but do love keeping the Sabbath and reading the Torah portions. I enjoy reading how everyone does their Shabbat and/or holy days.
Your videos are such a blessing to me. I am a practicing Catholic. I cover my face and pray the Shema in Hebrew morning and evening, each time with a Jewish prayer (in English). I begin and end each day in prayer. You are a great example of a Godly mother. May the Lord always richly bless you and your family. Thank you for your videos.
Shalom Sonya, I loved your video, your candle sticks are gorgeous and I just love Shabbat. I’m Hebrew and our Shabbat looks much like yours. The only difference is when we as women and our children stay home our time is spent studying and reading Yahuah’s word. Because we believe although it’s a rest day it still belongs to The Most High and our own pleasures are secondary. I don’t have little children but I think I’ll tell my husband I should sleep in on Saturday mornings🤣🤣. I like to see the difference in how we all celebrate Shabbat. Thank you for sharing, I really enjoyed. Also I would love to see how you & your family Havdalah

She was so excited and couldn’t wait to show me. I have a large table and enjoy gathering my family after church for a Sunday meal. I became interested in Shabbat and studied the traditions and meanings. Having done that, I appreciate her excitement about the table. I have been in Jerusalem several times on Shabbat and the hotels are filled with Jewish families observing Shabbat. I enjoy your videos very much.
Thank you Sonya for sharing ...your such a beautiful person.....and yes please do the closing of shabbat...
As a Christian that loves the Torah this was very helpful. Thank you!
Although I’m Christian, the devotion and kindness that you have is amazing. I grew up in a very disconnected and cruel family. I would love to experience the Orthodox Jewish lifestyle.
I’m sorry to read about how you grew up 😔
I am not a Jew but I salute you the way you and your family interact and spending that quality time without any interruption of TV and Technology. I have always believed in that . When you at the dinning table spend that quality interaction with each other.
Sonia I love your multitasking because I am the same. I love when my kitchen is spotless. I really am grateful to my mother for teaching me these qualities and I have continued this in my life and have instill this to both my daughters. Must say you are an amazing cook. I love cooking and love trying new dishes. Thank you for sharing. Stay blessed.
Aww that means a lot, thank you for watching
That was wonderful, thank you Sonya. I would love to hear about the ending of Shabbat as well when you can share that with us.
Will do!
Shabbat is one of the religious traditions that I wish would have been kept in Christianity, it’s such a beautiful tradition lovingly given by the Most High.
Hi Sonya, I belong to Christianity but really like your videos very interesting to know about your traditionals thank you for this video 🤍 blessings
it is very good to understand more about what we have been grafted into.
How fun. So nice that you experienced all of that with them.
I love hearing about your family traditions. I am not Jewish, but what I have learned from watching your channel is how Shabbat is all about family and tradition. We might celebrate differently but in the end it still spiritual and about having family time.
Thank you, Sonya, for sharing your spiritual life experience with us! God is Love, and you prove it everyday with your selfless love to your family!
Amen!!
This is so beautiful and very much appreciated. I found myself tearing up, when you were lighting the candles, because I can feel the love you have for God and your family. Thank you for inviting us into your beautiful, peaceful home- and sharing this private part of your life.
thank you!
I’m so exited about this video!!
Me too. I hope you like it.
Beautiful. Thank you so much for letting us into your beautiful home ❤️🙏
Such a beautiful way of life, how different and positive so many things in life would be if we practiced a life a prayer, healthy meals, embracing family and quieting the day in a place reflection and gratitude ❤️ Sonya, thank you for opening your home to us 🙏🏼
❤️❤️❤️
I worship on Sabbath as well. This is just beautiful. This is how the Sabbath should be. A time for God and family. ❤❤❤Great memories for the kids.
Rachmat.
Beautiful 💗 very similar to how we celebrate the Shabbat in Israel 😘
Sonya, I am brazilian, I watching all yours videos. I Love The tradicional jewish. You have a beatyful family . Baruch Hashem
You are so generous in explaining. I am grateful.
Beautiful. There is nothing like dedicating time to family and God. I believe its the core to a great family unit.
so many of us got soo busy with life that worship and shabbat is forgotten. Thank you Sonia!
I'm so happy you are doing this! I cant wait to see how your family celebrates Shabbat. 🥰
Thank you for sharing your Shabbat practice. You do all things well as usual. Your home is beautiful.
I’m wanting to convert to Orthodox Judaism, and seeing/hearing the steps of Shabbat is very helpful! Thank you!!
Y'shua is Jewish and He kept the seventh day Sabbath. Try it.♥️

Suggestion: Stop sounding self righteous. Even though you put a heart at the end, there was NO Christ love in it the comment only self righteous sarcasm. I’m a Christ follower who also keeps Shabbat, however I also follow Galatians 5:22-25. To quote you, “Try it.” Goodby and take care.🙏🏿
@@gailmiller6333 hi. I spoke genuinely out of love.
You’re so considerate and honest, we appreciate you Sonya 🩵
Thank you for sharing your Shabbat experience with us non Jewish that love your tradition n dedication to God
Thank you for a look into your life on the weekends. The children are so sweet. It was a pleasure learning this!!!!
This was very instructive and beautiful. Thank you.
Such a wonderful Shabbat video! You are just the greatest Sonya!
What a beautiful time to celebrate together. Toda Raba, Shalom!
Yes, please... do a video for Havdalah ❤ thank you
Shalom Sonya, I loved your video, your candle sticks are gorgeous and I just love Shabbat.
Really interesting rituals/traditions and I wish I understood them better with regard to the history of the Jewish culture which I find fascinating. Much respect for you to share this with us. Thank you.
Absolutely beautiful tradition. Thank you for sharing. I love the focus on God, family and food. The absolute best things in life. ♥️
So much of beauty and kindness. Thank you very much for this video.
just today I prayed, asking what to do on shabbat. Praise G-d from whom all blessings flow. Thanks Sonya!
I've sitting here having my coffee thinking about your site which I just found two weeks ago I love that you have visited me with your grace and charm I think a lot of women would say I want that but I think you have to have the intention the grace and love to be able to genuinely take on as much as you have especially from such a young woman as yourself I'm 72 and I'm finally getting it I think have to shake off the charms of what culture has told us we should and learn to see what should be you're in my prayers thank you for my your site please keep ministering to us
You are a good wife mother and a good teacher thank you i would like to learn the good bye of the Sabbath
So sweet thank you
Dear Sonya. Thank you for inviting to your beautiful home and delicious food and blessings of your children 🙏🍰☕️🍷🍾😀
You have such a beautiful spirit. I just enjoy listening to you talk so much. Your little ones are just precious and you care for them so lovingly. I am not Jewish but I have many Jewish friends and you have helped me to understand their customs and their religious practices. I can’t wait for your next video when they come up.
Awww thank you
Her husband is blessed having this "pearl of great price"

Thank you for sharing what Shabbat is like in your family. I’m not Jewish. I feel like I am getting a much better understanding of Judaism from watching your videos. It’s beautiful that you have the special time with your family. I imagine your kids will have fond memories of their childhood Shabbats. You are so kind and patient and so well organised!

Thank you so much Sonya for this beautiful video! I would love to see a video of the closing of Shabbat!
Thank you Sonya , SHABBAT SHALOM .
Fond memories of Shabbos and Passover at my Aunt and Uncles house. I’ve always always been deeply fascinated with Judaism. I used to babysit for a Jewish family that had a lot of texts and 1970’s reform workbooks I devoured.
