I've replaced 3 of them out of 5 installs. A competitor of mine in town has replaced over 10 of them. It's only on the 15's. Not selling them anymore until they straighten it out.
Damnit.....i just changed a board on 15 seer 3 ton. It was dead day after install. This was last month. I have put around 50 of these in ......Bosch better straighten this up ......Kenny and Fred are gonna get bombarded
Did you make sure all the dip switch setting are the same? I didn’t see in the video…nice work Jeff. Those boards ARE crazy expensive glad it was under warranty.
Yea I did. I did film myself adjusting them but I accidentally edited it out.

hi, thnx for ur video. Can you say why my RHEEM heat pump system with ELECTRIC strips, in the HEAT MODE has the indoor fan running continually, and is NOT BLOWING OUR ANY WARM AIR? The OUT DOOR UNIT does NOT come on at all. In the heat or cool mode. In the EMERGENCY heat mode, it DOES NOT blows heated air. What can i do. I am in Orlando. Thnx.
First time watching. I went to the Bosch seminar and they had 26 bad board replacements and only like 12 or 14 were actually bad at the testing facility. That’s what the gentleman that did the training class in Londonderry, New Hampshire training facility told us. so they replaced boards when it wasn’t the board, so how did they actually fix the problem if the board wasn’t bad and they replaced the board and the machines up and running how’s that possible? I wish I asked that question when I was there at the seminar, the inverter class 2.0
This is why I am on the fence with Bosch or any inverter sytems. My company started installing these at the end of 2022 beginning of 2023. I was the first tech to run into this problem. Bosch Customer service sucked. was on the phone for 4 hours and didn't get any answers. Had to have a different tech out there the next day to be on the phone with tech support cuz it was my day off. had to order a new board.
Apparently this E6 issue has been sorted out (they say). And it’s only on the 15 seer units. I’ve never had a problem getting through to Bosch Tech support on the HVAC side. The boiler side does suck and I hate when I have to call them.
get higher cooling seer, but instead of changing a simple contactor or run cap it is a $1k+ board. goodbye savings. worth it for better heating capacity in cold weather, not cooling. i admit inverter is also good for zoning.@@JeffsHVACAdventures
ya the pathetic thing is the common components on that board aren't very expensive. components on that board are similar to those found on a switching power supply. probably costs the manufacturer $150 or less including proprietary processor/firmware to have that board made.
Pretty sure customer didn’t have to pay for that board. It was under warranty. Not sure about labor though. My Bosch heat pump has warranty for 10 years, but only one year labor.
ya - but it is a problem after the warranty ends. when the board fails after the 10 year warranty, entire machine gets replaced due to outrageous repair cost, especially if the part is marked up 100% as contractors usually do. The manufacturers could make inverter drive heatpumps that are affordable to repair if they wanted to - could standardize the controls and have generic boards with firmware that gets flashed for the particular unit. There's no technical reason, it is greed. hvac industry is an f-ing scam.@@oopiestevie4131
Really …. The Bosch unit has a 10 year all parts warranty…. The result of an E6 code… May not be just a board … be careful w/ bad Diagnostic practices… Don’t be ‘that’-service guy… that just changed parts …

You are right. It has only been the 15s.
Nice overview on replacing the board and troubleshooting the fan motor 👍👍👍
Is the bosch 20 seer 3 ton any good?
Very solid unit. Not as many warranty issues as the 15.
Nice work glad under warranty 😂

Great units until they break out of warranty. Can’t beat a simple capacitor or contactor swap!

Too many possibilities to list here. Best thing to do is hire a professional HVAC contractor in your area to trouble shoot the problem.

Good question.
They could have warrantied out multiple components, sometimes they will do that to prevent future call backs or maybe unsure. Just a guess.

its only an issue on the ids light 15 seers, everything else has been absolutely stellar. Get with the times
something like that I put in the city on 80 floor not here in the woods
sounds like the FSD might be bad, i didnt even hear the high frequency switching from the IPM.
the next time it will be the fan, because it"s always the board.
inverter drive compressors are not worth the trouble unless it is a cold climate heatpump application.
🤔

I’m sorry I don’t buy that unit because mother board too expensive. Rip people money.

The first thing Bosch tech support tell you when call them with an E6 code is to change the board. I’ve done at least 6.
I have one of these junkers don't buy one !!!!
Over engineered over priced junk!
