    My bestie from high school suffered one of those at just over 40 & wasn't supposed to survive. Many surgeries on her brain & 4+ yrs later she's walking, writing novels again & able to drive. We have to remind her to stop writing & nap when she doesn't listen to her brain. So cool ur reading that book!

    Singing is recommended for all sorts of breathing issues because it gets you to control your breathing but without putting all your focus on it. It has the benefits of controlled breathing exercises but you don't have the manual breathing zone thing so much once you're done.

    Oh man, that quote you busted out at the end so gets the whole 'trying to be upbeat as a spoonie' situation to a t. definitely writing that on one of my bullet journal pages for when i need it! I always love seeing your weekly vlogs, they're so slice of life and lovely, especially to a fellow zebra. hope you have more "some days" for the next few weeks.

    Thanks for the update :) Oddly enough my neck has been bothering me for about the past week but fortunately it's mostly just painful when I lie down, plus headaches but not nearly what you're feeling. Hope you've been doing better this week!

    Always look forward to your weekly vlogs, we're amazed at how positive you are! 😊 Hope the amitriptaline works for you, I've been on it for 3 weeks now and I'm mostly feeling better for it (getting some "hangover" type symptoms tho lol)!

    As someone who is a trained singer and was for about 6 years before I had to cut it out of my life due to $$ I can say singing and your diaphragm is hugely linked! When you're taught how to sing by an instructor the first thing they teach you is the difference between singing with your chest, your stomach/diaphragm and your head voice... After all of my years of singing my abs around my diaphragm are so intense lmao I look like iron man (but the rest are pillsbury dough boy LOL!) - if you're more curious send me a message on fb!

    Hi Christine, I wanted to ask if you ever dealt with depression or anxiety due to your issues with eds? I deal with chronic pain and it really affects me mentally. Not sure if you've talked about that before or are comfortable talking about it though so if not just ignore this!

    I'm on Amitriptyline too. It didn't help with my Migraines, moderate help with nuropathic pain, but I'm on 3 other drugs for that too, fantastic help with sleep and coping with general pain and appetite. (I have no appetite without it) Helps me cope with my chronic illnesses.

    Hi Christina and Elke. Thank you for this video, I really liked it. I especially liked your singing, it was very beautiful. I am glad that singing helps your breathing. You said that for you some days are better than other days. So I pray that God will grant you many more BETTER days and many fewer OTHER days. By the way, it is only about 20 weeks until COTW, but who's counting?

  • @jeallen7
    @jeallen7 7 років тому +2

    yes singing is great because it pushes against your diaphragm depending should be able to feel it, if you throat sing won't feel it. professional singers sing from their diaphragms.

    I take 100 mg of amitriptyline every night. it's a really good medicine and it's also used as an antidepressant as well which is why when it first got prescribed me as a pain med my psychiatrist took it over and raised it to 100 mg and then my pain management doctor took it back and started working with it on with my 150 mg Lyrica

    I love that song! Is that the one Taylor Swift song with The Civil Wars for Hunger Games? I miss The Civil Wars, one of my favorite bands, and you sang it beautifully! I am on Amitriptyline (along with many other meds) at night, and it works well I think. I cetrainly notice a difference if I run out. I hope it helps you as well. Hugs and lots of love- Chelsie

    Cute hair! I chopped my hair off last year and it helped my neck ALOT. Hard to believe the weight of my hair was making me hurt so much. It's growing out again and I might have to cut it again but I hope not. I would love to be able to do cute things with my hair like you do!

    Sorry you've been feeling worse again lately, same here I'm afraid. Nausea, stomachaches, neck pain and knee problems have unfortunately only gotten worse this week. I have been in bed a lot as well and have been reading and watching netflix and such. I'll definitely check out that book, 'Hope heals', was it? It sounds interesting.
    I fortunately (or maybe unfortunately, depending on how you look at it), have no problems sleeping the entire day away. I sleep between 12 and 18 hours a day at least every other day. If I don't, I just pass out, get migraines all the time, can't think, and my vision'll blur very badly so I won't be able to even watch tv. Luckily I like to sleep, even though I'd like it if I didn't need quite so much of it. It kinda makes you feel like you're missing out on life.
    Well, I hope the amitriptyline can do something for you. Maybe you'll be able to do a bit more next week if it helps. It's no fun being stuck in bed all day. Your strength and positivity have helped me out more than you can imagine these past weeks, while I've been able to do less and less. So thank you for that, in any case! Looking forward to your next video.
    Seeya next week!

    Hi! The Amitriptyline is something I took to help me sleep due to anxiety and depression. If you have started to take it, that may be the reason why you are so sleepy. I take another med now, but it did help me a lot. I was able to take a low dose. Please feel fetter. I heard how bad the blizzard was up north and I know the feeling of being ready for Summer!!!

      I'm on Amitriptyline myself mixed with my other medications myself, it definitely helps for helping add that extra bit of sleepiness I need before bed... I have to be on a 25 dose, anything higher than that turns me into a ravenous beast I found however! My doctor wanted me to go up to 75 last summer and when I did that I literally had a side effect of wanting to eat constantly and I lost all ability to sense feeling full and satisfied- I was constantly Hangry it was awful! But being at the low dose is a wonderful balance for me and my other meds!

      I found amitriptaline was okay for pain and for getting me to sleep but I got a LOT of daytime sleepiness/foggyness with it. I would take it at about 6pm and still be feeling like a zombie at about 12pm. I took it for a really long time but when I came off it in 2015 when my I was undergoing investigations for what turned out to be POTS it was a revelation. I got half my day back!

    • @InviDoll
      @InviDoll 7 років тому

      I'm sticking to 10-20mg myself for as long as I can, otherwise I'd definitely be asleep an unreasonable number of hours!
