After the BAD tour, MJ never truly toured the U.S. again. He focused more in other countries and continents around the world. He was more loved everywhere else while the media in the U.S. were constantly throwing dirt on his name.

And London too, I remember listening to a tape of a short interview from 1999 I think and he says he would love to live in London but the press was so horrible with him :( he sounded soo hurt as if he was about to cry and it's so heartbreaking to listen to 😭 I think the clip is still out there

Unbelievable, the album was the only one to have 5 number one hits, Michael was incredibly popular, definitely they didn't want to give him more power after the 8 grammys for Thriller

It's sad cause Michael was always very lonely despite of all the money and love from the fans, I think his fame was like a curse for him because he couldn't go anywhere without being chased around :( I think I remember him saying that at the height of his success he used to cry from loneliness and used to wander the streets just wanting a friend to talk to 😢 seems like he struggled with loneliness his entire life especially when there was so many people trying to use him and deceive him and he didn't know who to trust 😢

Damn it's like he couldn't be himselt and live his life, he couldn't go anywhere or do anything without them scrutnizing his every move like damnn let the man breathe, no wonder he became so reclusive and isolated I don't know how he was able to deal with all that, I wouldn't wish that level of fame to anybody

That ending of showing your admiration to MJ saying you hope he’s up their singing and dancing in the heavens best believe he is Seph it kinda made me a bit emotional cause for you to not know anything about MJ to only scratching the surface and now you’re gaining lots of info on how the actual man was you’re realizing how truly one of a kind he was and how much of a down to earth human being he actually was and folks to advantage of that MJ truly had no malice in his heart or soul and that was the biggest part that made him so special and this world of sin they took him for granted and took advantage of his pureness and kindness.😭🙏🏽👑💝🕊️✨

That Dirty Diana story is sooo funny 😂 bro Michael was so huge he was the celebrity of celebrities lol seriously, everyone wanted to meet him and work with him, Will Smith told a story of when he finally met Michael and he was like "I GOTTA MEET MICHAEL" and then Michael was like "hi Will, do you like comic books? Wanna trade this and this" and then Will was like "I knew nothing about comics but I couldn't say this to Michael Jackson" lmaoo 😂😂 I thought this was hillarious too such a Michael thing to say

at the time of it's release , BAD was actually the 2nd biggest selling album ever , right after thriller , which shows how disingenuine for them to say that it didn't sell well !

Take into consideration, This is a report comparing the combined sales of Thriller which was at 35 million by 1987 (5 years worth of sales here) and the sales of Bad which at this point was out for 3 months, What a ridiculous comparison, It's even MORE INSANE, when you realize AT THIS POINT, within the first 3 months, the album had already became the Largest Selling Album of 1987, it would do the same with 1988. It also went down in HISTORY, being the first album EVER to spin 5 consecutive #1 hits & 9 out of the 10 tracks made the Billboard Top 10. It's literally considered one of the best selling albums of all time and here the reporter would have you believe, no one will ever remember this. It's actually laughable how clear the bitterness from the British Media was.

You gotta realize, there were no black mega stars before Michael Jackson who could generate this much hysteria with white audiences worldwide and who had MJs level of global success. That's why MJs success was massive because the world had never seen a black artist this big. And even today, there are still no black artists that got as big as the Beatles or Elvis was except MJ. MJ was just unparalleled stardom. If you check the biggest selling artists of all time worldwide, Michael Jackson is pretty much the only black artist in the top 10. And he's number 2 behind the Beatles/Elvis. His record sales has since surpassed Elvis but has yet to be updated by his estate.

It's horrible the way they treated him and what angers me the most is that they spent the next 20+ years of his life tormenting him constantly, in the early 2000s more than ever and then when he dies all of them call him "king of pop" and "oh so sad that he died he was great" as if nothing ever happened and they hadn't been largely responsible for his suffering and pain 😡😡 and not even after he died the man can have peace, 10 years after his death comes these 2 guys making a "documentary" about abuse even though they have defended Michael publicly numerous times for years and one even TESTIFIED under oath in his defense as a 22 year old grown man, ughhh makes me soo angry what people can do for money, that's what you get when you're too kind...

Around this time Michael distanced himself from his family which was the start of him becoming vulnerable wanting to be around different people/families which led to the accusations. Michael father although tough, truly cared for his children because there were a lot of predators after Michaels fortune and by the early 2000s Michael owed the music industry quite literally. Also people started blocking his family from reaching him and Michael got pissed in one story. You couldn’t deny his family not caring the way defended him so heavily despite having their disputes.

Hi, Seph! Great reaction as always. So yeah, the bad tour was supposed to be his last, but then he set up a charity foundation called heal the world foundation and went on another tour just to raise money for it (the dangerous tour, by the way). And later on he even went on another tour! Each tour was bigger than the previous ones. However, he never toured around the US again.
Also, if you like these videos in which he's just being himself in an informal setting, you'll have many more later on :D. There are great videos of him joking around, telling stories about neverland, talking about his creative process and so on.
And if you're already pissed about the tabloids and sensationalist headlines, you'll be even more pissed as you go through the 90s and 00s. Unfortunately this takes a toll on him, which is comprehensible, and just like in the 80s the way he best addresses this is through music, which is why there'll be more songs like leave me alone and why you wanna trip on me.

Also Seph in the last video you asked about the hyberberic chamber thing and I'm not sure if anyone answered your question yet so let me explain, it was an equipment used to treat burn victims he just wanted to know what it felt like in there, but someone took the picture leaked it out and sold it to the tabloids and they twisted the whole thing and said that he "slept in the chamber to never grow old" and of course that lie went all over the world, it's just an example of how nasty they were, they wanted to make him look weird and crazy, just know that he was the most famous person on the planet and anything with his name on the headline sells and make money, so the more scandalous and crazy the stories were the more money and ratings they got, no matter if it was true or not, no matter if it was hurting him, they knew people liked gossip because he was very private and didn't do a lot of interviews, and yes it would only get worse, especially after 1993,he didn't wsnt to give them the attention or the reaction they wanted and he tried to ignore it but how long and how much can you take it?

Michael's statement about the "Bad" tour being his last turned out to be partially true; it was the last time he toured (or even performed a full concert) in the U.S. I was at the last two dates at the L.A. Sports Arena in January 1989 (rescheduled from November because he got sick.) In hindsight, I guess he knew he could get "more bang for the buck" overseas because he could exclusively do stadiums (seating upwards of 70,000 people). U.S. audiences don't particularly like stadium shows and his U.S. leg of the tour only played arenas (max seating of 20,000). He's also on the record saying that he HATED touring, so he could simply satisfy more fans (with less of a toll on himself) overseas.
EDIT: It didn't last 36 hours, but I did camp out overnight at the Forum for Prince tickets in 1985. It kinda felt like a rite of passage when we were 18 lol. We'd heard about other people doing that to show their dedication, but it really wasn't necessary for us. We worked in a record store with a Ticketmaster (promoters routinely threw seats back into the mix at the last minute if they hadn't given them away) and my friend's father worked at the Forum, so we ended up getting tickets to FIVE other "Purple Rain" concerts besides the ones we got from the all night adventure... but it was SO fun to hang out with likeminded people (and winter in L.A. isn't that bad lol). By the time the "Bad" tour came around, they'd pretty much done away with camping out (in L.A. at least); the wristband system had begun, so you had to show up at an ungodly hour to get a wristband, and then the number on it determined the order in which the tickets would be sold at whatever day or time they actually went on sale. Any warm body would do, so we brought people who couldn't have cared less about going to a Michael Jackson concert lol. We ended up with tons of tickets in the first ten rows and sold the extras to ticket brokers (perfectly legal); that financed my travel back home from college in Tennessee TWICE to see those last two shows... and then some 😁.

Heyy Seph🔥 The Bad Tour was supposed to be his last tour but at the end, it was just his last tour with US as a destination. I dont know if you remember but you heard about this when i made you watch the video "Why is Michael Jackson's BAD TOUR: His Greatest Tour". Michael did the Dangerous Tour to help raising funds for his Heal The World Foundation founded in 1992. It was still a world tour but he just didnt go to the US.🔥

1986 is really the year where wacko , elephant man bones, and the narrative of weirdness was introduced by the media, the british media to be exact. 1985 is the year Jackson purchased the ATV catalog (Beatles, Elvis, etc..) from multiple bidders who are high end executives within the entertainment industry... Its not hard to put two & two together. The destroy the public image of michael jackson initiative began the second Michael Jackson, A Black man, became the most powerful executive in the music industry in 1985. Destroy his character & you can take away his power (catalog) eventually. Thats exactly what happened.🎯💥❗It's incredible how Michael with a monkey can be seen weird by the media in 1988, than 26 years later Justin Bieber with a monkey (clearly inspired by MJ) is seen as cute and priceless by the same media, not only does it stink of racism from their end at the time but also jealousy and greed, the real narrative behind the writers room of these tabloids was "How could a 30 year old american black man OWN the rights to OUR #1 musical export, The Beatles!", so Wacko Jacko was created kind of out of spite by The British Media🤦‍♂️

Ah, welcome to your birth year in MJ history. :D That's always fun for those of us who came late, haha. (Mine was the previous one.)
That said, I'm sure this has been pointed out to you before but be...careful, I suppose would be the right word, with watching videos from the channel that made these decade in review compilations.
While they originally were regarded as a trustworthy source of information and shared happily among MJ fans, in the last few years this has shifted and without saying too much, it's safe to say that a lot of people stopped linking their content for good reason.

I agree, some videos are good and then others full of false unconfirmed information, tabloid stuff, don't know what his deal is honestly

I don't agree. The detail makes great videos. It's just that we fans have become overly sensitive sometimes in defending MJ from ridicule
