The departure views from SFO can make it one of the most picturesque airports in the world to fly into and out of. Southwest has a great culture and they really do make a lot of extra effort to provide travelers with a positive flying experience.
My family always fly Southwest for the reasons you showed. Great customer service, cheerful flight crew, affordable fares, and no change fees! The last time I flew Southwest was in February 2022 on the 737 MAX 8 from LAX-OGG (Mauii, Hawaii). The MAX also had Southwest's newer Heart interior. It's worth checking it out on youtube, and is much nicer than the 737-700/800 variants. With blue and orange mood lighting and newer seats with bendable headrests. Though in a few weeks I will be flying on the 737-700 coincidentally from LAX-SFO. Looking forward to it! P.S. I am learning Spanish, and I like the Spanish subtitles. They allow me to practice and watch my favorite videos all at once!
I love Southwest Airlines! The flight Crews are happy people that it make your flight enjoyable and have you leaving the plane in a good mood for a good day! It's a very good company, with excellent customer service. Often this flight flys right over downtown San Francisco and tourist spots, and then heads out over the ocean where it flies all the way down the coast line where it comes inland closer to LA. Then the entire trip you're watching the California coastline on the left of the plane. Very nice
Yeah, that's exactly what I wanted to say. I think I will add an extra text on the description so it will be more clear. (If not, the text on the thumbnail wouldn't make any sense :) )
Southwest bases your position based on when you check in, but you can pay to be at the front of the line, and those who pay full fare and elite frequent flyers are at the very front. It works surprisingly well. Also, since this video was filmed, the United States repealed its mask mandate.
Thanks, Tom. Yep, that's correct. I was already in the US without the facemasks restrictions. This video was filmed just a few weeks before they removed it. Have a nice week!
Gorgeous lovely views super Amazing beautiful filming captured as always great trip report content vloggs keep it up Sir have a wonderful blessing weekend stay safe Merci
Thank you for another great review ! I am a big fan of South West, and always enjoy the light-hearted announcements by the onboard crew. In contrast I find Ryanair very institutional, and no fun at all. Their crews speak to passengers like naughty schoolchildren ! It was very typical that your South West B737 was continuing to Chicago, and shows how intensely used are the South West fleet. I think EasyJet are a better comparison. Many thanks.
I really found Southwest much more interesting than Easyjet 😅 Ryanair started to grow a lot by following the Southwest model. Then they had to adapt themselves to what the European market demands, and that's why they have allocated seats... etc. I like Southwest and im looking forward to fly something longer with them (ideally on the MAX). ✈️
thank you for this video! well done! I just dropped of some friends at LAX this morning for a flight to Mexico! I hope they finish construction one day...haha! Southwest is a profitable airline; good for short domestic flights!! Cheers!

Great report! Since it’s a lazy Saturday morning and I don’t have anything better to do, I want to make a couple of minor corrections. First, your boarding position doesn’t necessarily depend on your fare. Unfortunately it’s more complicated than that. If you pay the highest fare, you can get a boarding position in the first group of 15-30. Or, no matter what fare you pay, you can pay an extra $15-20 for priority check-in, which usually gets you a position in the first group of 60. Otherwise, online check-in starts 24 hours before departure, and your boarding position depends on when you check-in. You need to move fast if you don’t want to get stuck in a middle seat!! My other comment is that that’s not downtown LA at 14:10 - I think it’s Century City, which is like a “secondary” downtown. The real downtown LA is near Dodger Stadium, but you wouldn’t have been able to see it from the left side of the plane. Anyway, thanks for another great California trip report!
