The camouflage on the Bradley (and Abrams) is not meant to fully hide the vehicle, just to break up it's silhouette. Nature doesn't make straight lines so the human eye is automatically drawn to unnatural shapes. The cammo netting simply helps hide some of those straight lines so it's not as easy to spot. It's difficult to hide a Bradley or Abrams because of their size and noise but if you can make them harder to spot, you give the crews more time to engage the enemy first.
Dead on, on top of that the Bradley driver would’ve been taught to terrain Drive to keep the hull of the vehicle out of the line of sight of the enemy.
Not only what everyone has already said but with the sensors it has, the first engagement won’t be until it’s kilometers out so for enemies with inferior optics (everyone other than US in 2024 (at least for now)), that camo means a world of difference in the real world. There are paper statistics and real world combat experiences and the difference cannot be understated You can’t just watch a promo video of it less than 10 meters away is all I’m saying
It’s useless. The freaking exhaust comes out the top of the Bradley so it doesn’t mask the thermal signature even a little bit. It also doesn’t break a single straight line on the vehicle by hanging it off the side of the straight edges of the vehicle. The only way to camouflage that huge sucker is to use terrain intervisability lines and the skill of the crew to maneuver. We also dismount a lot to survive unless we’re in a meeting engagement"

The HIMARS rockets had a 25 mile range. The ATACMs missile flys at Mach 3 or 2000 mph and had a range of 190 miles or 300 kilometers. The new Precision Strike Missile which we just developed has a range of 500 miles.

The 50 cal machine gun has several types of bullets. Some are armor piercing, explosive, and many others. They're usually used to take out vehicles, APCs, and other moving vehicles. They aren't that great for taking out tanks.

Two rounds that is no longer used called the SLAP (saboted light armor penetrator) and the RAUFOSS (multi-purpose anti-material armor piercing/incendiary round.

The most effective round for the M2 is the Raufoss, an armor piercing, high explosive incendiary round that can easily punch through 1" or up to 2" of armor. It's used to engage anything from helicopters to lightly armored vehicles.
The 50 caliber round comes in a varity of selections, standard solid ball round, armor piercing, explosive, tracer and some combos like armor peircing high explosive AHE.

The camo netting is to break up the smooth surfaces of the vehicle to help prevent detection by satellite radars that are trying to locate them and direct fire. They don’t care about people on the ground.
Bushes are for extra camo, so if you are hiding in bushes, or a barn, or trees giving you shade you will not be seen by soldiers or enemy armor passing by or to stay hidden from aircraft above if those aircraft are doing a ground attack mission.
Those tanks lined up at the beginning are just spares stored at a facility near where I live. The .50 caliber rounds can be armor piercing but on only light armored vehicles, won't pierce tank armor.
Himars missiles launch at 85 km/h and travel at 3,063 km/h, Mach 2.5 (internet info cited is rarely highly accurate, but will get you somewhere close enough to imagine.) Bradley isn't fully camouflaged in that footage, but generally, any breaks in solid lines and unatural shapes help to confuse the Human eye and prevent objects from being recognized as easily.

Those red rounds you see from the Cram at 6:13 are tracer rounds, they are used to help guide your shots in the dark, they also are usually space out about every 10 regular rounds. So you are basically seeing every tenth round, and it still looks like a solid line of red. That is a lot of rounds that was fired.
Modern weapons are mainly operated with thermal sights so even tho it is really visual, camouflage helps concealing and make the vehicle’s shape unrecognizable in thermal sights.
The bushes or camp netting on the side of the Bradley is for a different purpose. If you are in the forest or the edge of a forest you put that OVER the Bradley and from high altitude drones its will blend in with the forest. It works quite well I assure you.
The m2 has multiple types of rounds just like any other gun such as FMJ (Full Metal Jacket), incendiary, AP (Armor Piercing), IAP (Incendiary Armor Piercing), etc. It also shots a 50. Caliber round
The reason behind the camo netting on the Bradley is to break up the man made "lines", and mostly to hide the line from aircraft and long distances. Perfectly straight lines are very rare in nature, therefore easily picked out by almost anybody without any special training
No they aren't. The newest thing is the Rangers getting a new and pretty gun with a fancy range tracking scope and maybe a new helmet to integrate with it. The m2 50 cal has armor piercing rounds as well as other types, however a tank has heavy armor that a the 50 would not penetrate reliabley. Its best for suppressing infantry or taking out lightly armored targets.
50bmg military uses 4 types of ammo. Standard fmj, Armor piercing (black tip) armor piercing incendiary or api (silver tip), or apit armor piercing incendiary tracer ( silver red band ) they are not for tanks( 30mm cannon do that or the 120mm ). They are for trucks and light armor vehicles.
also the point of camoflauge netting, isn't to cover and hide something. The way it works is by disrupting an objects outlines, the human eye detects the things it is searching for by looking for silhouette's against the background, not color patterns. So if you can disrupt the lines the eye uses to make identifications, the human mind will actually paint an illusion in that the thing it is looking at is actually part of the background scenery.
From a distance it's enough camouflage on the Bradley. As a Soldier I was in Bradley's the most and they really are top tier. Apache helicopters and Bradley's can win a war by itself.
John Browning lived from 1855 until 1926 and was responsible for many guns, including the M2 50 caliber and 30 caliber machine guns, the 1911 45 pistol, the Browning high power 9mm pistol, and even semi auto shotguns.
Interesating little fact about the M2. Carlos Hathcock had a rig made up in Vietnam and used the M2 as a sniper rifle and recorded one of the longest sniper kills in history with it.
Those tanks camouflages pretty good if your looking straight at it yea of course but once you park it by hills lil bit of bushes it’s blends in really good especially from the sky pov which is who they are hiding from cause those can fuck em up
I served in West Germany during the Clod War along with around 200,000 U.S. troops. At that time the Vietnam War was happening and we had around 500,000 troops there plus around 75,000 troops in Korea on the DMZ. Back then ALL of our military branches were larger with more bases, troops, planes, and ship. I think our military is smaller now than before WWII and the majority of our forces are not combat ready and under manned.
Smaller does not mean weaker. Modern mechanization and computer communication among all branches vastly increase efficiency. Furthermore, we have a robust corp of NCO's that can pass training to new recruits 24/7. The US military is highly supported, highly equipped, highly trained and highly motivated. Fornicaris Et Invenies. (FAFO)
I think it's a camouflage net, when the vehicle is at rest , you park it in the woods and cover it completely with the net, just my thoughts on how it looked in the picture.
The M2 Armor Piercing Ammo doesn't penetrant tanks, but does penetrate lightly armored military vehicles. Which includes a lot of military vehicles. The Bradley was just camouflage d from sky attacks. You missed what they were saying about the HIMARS. They said they can be fired from 5 miles, too 190 miles.
.50 cal does have armor piercing ammo but its useless against tanks. Its only useful against light armor like an up armored truck or something like that. Theres also API (armor piercing incendiary) which pass through light armor and then explode. Its a tiny explosive charge but when youve got a bunch of them punching through the side of your vehicle and exploding, the effect will be devastating for the people inside.
8:48 Sometimes I think that it really wouldn't make a whole lot of difference if we painted all our $#!+ in hi vis florescent green with reflective tape. When we come in... we are the only ones doing the shooting. Then there is the stealth guys. It's like that old Batman and Robin joke. "Badman.. why are you dressed all in black but you have that yellow symbol on your chest?" Batman replies.. "Well that's where I'm the most armored.. so my opponents will shoot there". The interviewer then asks.. "But why is Robin dressed in red, yellow and bright green?" To which Badman replies... "I don't like getting shot at... ok?" lol
There are 8 types of bullets for the M2 .50 Caliber Machine Gun 1. Blank .2 Ball 3. Tracer 4. Armor Piercing 5. Incendiary 6. Armor Piercing 7. Armor Piercing Incendiary 8. Dummy. If I remember correctly the rockets for the HIMARS and the MLRS are the same rockets and missiles. I believe the top speed of these rockets is 2.5 Mach. The ATACMS speed is 3 Mach. As for the Iron Man suits they're working on it.
Yes the mama bear has armored piercing capabilities most common one used is the Raufoss round but that gun originally in world war II was meant to shoot down fucking fighter planes
So fun fact the Abram’s tanks that were shown before the JLTV can withstand nuclear fallout and blast to some extent. The seals are so perfect in can operate in a highly sensitive environment
If u shoot an enemy with caliber capable machine guns, it is considered a war crime under the geneva covention of international law for rules of engagement in warfare. Same thing with chemical weapons against civilian population and softening of the battlefield. Some asymmetrical weapons can be used for warning and evacuation purposes before demolition of enemy's structures.

The speed of those HIMARS missiles are mach 2.5, just over 1900 mph. That's at top speed. They launch at 600 mph which is subsonic.
camouflage is only meant to break the silhouette from a distance, this in returns makes it more difficult to distinguish the victor.
@19:29 Command of the sea with a Navy. Can't imagine where we got that from? "clears throat 18th century British* lol
@10:15 there is a military term for this phenomena "bologna mist"
Great video guys! Love from the USA❤
That’s a camouflage net that gets spread out after they park in a hide for the night
.50 cal does have armor piercing ammo but its useless against tanks.
My dad took great pride in using what he called the red eye
I believe a shoulder launch anti aircraft missle
They do have Save-O rounds for the 50 cal that are armor penetrators
yes we have them , armor piercing and heat , wont penetrate tank armor but everything else is game :)

Sometimes I think that it really wouldn't make a whole lot of difference if we painted all our $#!+ in hi vis florescent green with reflective tape.
When we come in... we are the only ones doing the shooting.
Then there is the stealth guys.
It's like that old Batman and Robin joke.
"Badman.. why are you dressed all in black but you have that yellow symbol on your chest?"
Batman replies..
"Well that's where I'm the most armored.. so my opponents will shoot there".
The interviewer then asks..
"But why is Robin dressed in red, yellow and bright green?"
To which Badman replies...
"I don't like getting shot at... ok?"
lol
Served proudly 3 years in the 3rd Infantry Division.
The camo on the tanks is to break up the silhouette for aircraft
So fun fact the Abram’s tanks that were shown before the JLTV can withstand nuclear fallout and blast to some extent. The seals are so perfect in can operate in a highly sensitive environment
Dude those rockets are well over multiple 1000s mph
15:40 NHRA Drag Racing Top Fuel in 1000' reached 338.94 mile(s) per hour
The rockets can precisely hit targets up to 150 miles away depending on rocket varient.
Sometime interesting, if you live near a military base, you see all of these driving on the freeway once in a while
With in 500 ft. that missle hits 1000 mph!!!
They make all types of explosive bullets, and armor piercing.
against tanks there is a round today for the 50 that can pen a tank on the side or rear.
A 50 caliber bullet can’t penetrate tank armour. It’s a 12.7 mm bullet but can oenetrate light armour and concrete walls.
Theyre not the only army in the world they are big but mean there mighty
Proud to be an American my forefathers were badass people 😎
That's carried camo, once it's parked there's other camo added, mostly to obscure airborne attack.
My dad was an anti aircraft specialist and certified to drive tanks I have pictures of my dad next to his mobile air defense vehicle loading it
Ofcourse my dad was in the 80s but that shit was wild😂 for the times
Those rockets are going faster then most fighter jets on the planet
The camo is strategically placed. It hides the straight lines. Bo straight lines in nature.
I am very surprised they did not cover the angel in the sky
Going Through? Nah... Going Frew!.. lol
Not sure on the exact rockets you were asking about, but some of the rockets from the HIMARS will strike a target at over 3000km/hr
There is a prototype in the makeing for our soldier it’s all I can say but there’s a lot more fun toys be made that will shock the world 😂🎉😮
The m2 uses anti tank rounds, anti armour rounds, anti personel or high explosive rounds depending on the task
the m2 has no anti tank rounds. its got blanks, ball, tracer, AP, incendiary and AP incendiary
