As a guitar teacher of (mumbles massive number quickly ) years id like to praise this lesson for its simplicity. Much of the time we make things more complex than they need to be.
I'll take it as my Christmas gift! You're amazing! 🤘
Holy crap! Why did that made more sense?. . .I've watched SO many vids about major scale and how to navigate the friggin' fretboard and I understood none of them. . .is it just a coincidence that I have a "clear" mind right know so I got it? Or you are just completely awesome?
Anywho, point is, I finally understood the shapes and how they navigate to get to certain "stops" in the fretboard. Before this, I always have a hard time figuring out the boundaries of the scale. Know, I have a mental picture of how it would look like (at least diagonally, for now) on the board. I can now see which notes are "on" and which ones are "off" depending on the scale I'd play.
Gosh, why didn't I recognize this before?. . .
Thanks man, keep it up, stay safe, and God bless. . .
(Btw, I just subscribed and hit the bell icon)
I always wanted to play lead. This just sort of came naturally to me. Embrace the darkness, and you'll hear it in your head. The natural minor scale was just what i figured out that sounded good to me, and from there I made it faster, and after that learned more...especially phrygian and harmonic minor. When I grew up there was no youtube, only vinyl, cassette tapes and ears....now it's so much easier to learn new stuff.
Remember that a scale has only 'X' amount of notes. Once you learn and start to 'hear' those notes, it's pretty easy to start to continue them across and down the fretboard into two and three octaves.
awesome video. you're really good at explaining and this has definetly helped. but please! i need the name of the greenish strat in the back
Perfect video. Definitely gonna watch again tomorrow when I pick up my guitar to practice. 🔥
Great lesson. Thank you!
