- Hey there! I'm David Mays and am excited to announce my invention has come to life in what is now known as the SideStasher™ Bag System for the Jeep JLU and JKU Wranglers.
We all know that organizing a jeep is challenging particularly when you do overlanding but also when you are just using it as your daily driver. We have stuff and need to put it somewhere. Active people have a lot of accessories and how great is it to have somewhere you can place these to keep them out of the way until you need them.
That is what the sidestasher is all about. Utilizing dead space in the jeep to get you better organized where you can carry more without having it all over the place in your jeep.

I love these bags. I told the owners that they should use soft pulls for the zippers. I changed mine out and they are a great mod for the interior.
I typically just recommend adding paracord to the zippers if you hear the "dinging" of them. but changing them out all together is certainly an option.
Just received my bags and installed them. Love them so far. aMAYSing bags! One feedback for future versions - rubber or cord zipper pulls so that they don’t jingle while driving.

Obviously you can add them yourself but yes I’m hoping to add that soon - trying to get a few more sales coming so I can do that.
Just got mine and installed it yesterday! Such an amazing product! We love it! Easy as pie to install. Best addition ever! I unzipped the subwoofer side bottom storage and stuffed gear in it and put it in the upper storage. Don’t hesitate get yours today!!!

Wish they made things like this with locking zippers. For us soft top guys who run top off a lot. Ours were emptied twice over a year.
I am working on a solution that would make it a lockable cage hidden inside with molle throughout. So it would look soft but would be hardened

Do you make a storage bag that fits in the ceilingbetween the bars,maybe one that has a side that drops down for entry? And doesnt sag.i have a rt.hand drive 09 jeep 4door wrangler
Not yet! This is our first foray into bag creation but certainly not our last!

@@TrailNewbie no wont make it that far west this year. I’m currently on the east coast and I’ll be in eastern Canada all of august so just too much crisscrossing to make that make sense 😂. I hear great things about OX PNW though..

I’m really digging the @teren clothing. Those pants have built in big repellent.. amazingly I got no ticks while wearing them when shooting that video.. changed clothes the next day and picked off 3.. so based on that very non scientific test - works pretty good!! That shirt has a strike fire starter in the collar stays!!! Not even kidding!! How cool is that?

It looks like you only sell it as a whole set. It would be great if one could buy just 1/2. In my case, I would only want a driver’s side.
we have had a few request this. I'm still struggling to get enough inventory to justify splitting them up. Right now they still sell about as fast as I can have them made since I'm making them by a small shop here in america. This is something that I will likely add at some point in the future. Right now best to find someone who just wants the other one and then go in together. Once you get one though, you will definitely want the other. I have so much gear stuffed in mine!
Did you do a overview of how the tent has worked for you?
I need to do a new walk around video as I am now 3 years and 90k miles on the jeep, over 110 nights in the camper/tent and I still absolutely love my setup.. I’ve been in torrential rain pours and stayed dry, hot Savannah GA weather and stayed comfortable, 20’s and stayed comfortable.. best investment I’ve made on the jeep.. so I haven’t done a recent one since the walk around but I still love it!

Hello, I have a hard top with the removable rear side windows, can you tell me if your product will work?
As long as you can access the mount bolts that hold the hard top to the frame (or the removable windows (I'm not familiar with that model) then it should work. The bag sits atop the window frame where you see the OEM mount bolts (there are 3 we use the front 2) to hold it on to the frame. If you can see those then it should work.
How would these fit with an Ursa Minor with the rear quarter window inserts for RotopaX containers? This causes the Ursa Minor shell to be closer to the roll bar. Is it still possible they could fit or is a definite no? Thanks, the product looks great and I enjoyed meeting you and seeing your rig at Overland Expo East last year.
As long as the base allows for the plate to screw into the the OEM holes it should be ok. We have an Ursa owner who has them installed. So should be fine. The upper area might just be a little squished
Just had the following testimonial from an Ursa owner who recently installed the bags.. Hope this helps!! - "The overall quality of the bags is top-notch. The mounting holes in the metal plate did not match the bolt holes on my '22 JLU with an Ursa Minor top. Slightly enlarging both holes in the plate solved the issue.”
I'll likely change the design to increase the hole size a bit to accommodate in future but will use these existing stock up first. but nothing a drill bit can't quickly fix.
@@aMAYSingLife I am specifically wondering about the Ursa Minor with the rear quarter window inserts. These storage compartments are recessed several inches into the interior so a RotopaX can mount in the window location from the exterior. Would this cause the mounting plate to not be able to be used do you think? Thanks!
@@brianrice6717if you have the rear inserts they will take up the room inside the vehicle where the bags reside so that likely won’t work. Sorry about that
I'm interested in these for my 2024 Willys. Will the straps interfere with the rear curtain airbags that come out of the second seat side roll bar?
No they won’t. I have verified this just recently!!
The airbag comes out directly from above the rear passenger seat whereas the straps attach to the roll cage behind the seats in a different section

i looked into it but discovered that the roll bar is in the way from accessing the front access port so it would be a complete redesign. At this time i'm working on a different product that can work in conjunction with the existing sidestasher. Sadly there just aren't enough 2 doors out there to focus on a specific design for them at this time.
One concern is how it affects ability to check back windows for blind spot on the highway?
i've had this question a few times but ultimately i dont notice it at all. That said, i use mirrors and rely on the lidar built into the mirrors that warns of blind spots. i apologize for delay in response!
can these work with a soft top. I bought bags from another company and they don't fit anywhere with a soft top
unfortunately they utilize the two oem mount bolts that the soft top utilizes to hold the soft top plastics in place. you can still use the bags but they will swing like the cheap versions and you can't benefit from the hard aluminum plate that provides so much stability.
@@aMAYSingLife Can this be solved by just buying the bolts for it?
@@thebush6077 if someone who has a soft top take a picture of the location where the bolt holes are located with the soft top installed we may be able to determine a way to do both. i know on the JKU (i had one) used the OEM holes as a way for the plastic structure to hold itself in place not with bolts but with dowels that protruded from the plastic pieces that surrounded the doors and framed up the soft top attachments. So they weren't "bolted in to the bolt holes but they were using the holes for support. with those holes being used and not bolted down there isn't a good way for the plate to be secured without interfering with the soft top mechanism. if you are seeing something different on the JLU then we need to talk becasue i haven't verified it being different.
@@aMAYSingLife Had to go out and take a look and I see what you're saying now. Hadn't noticed it was like that (came from the factory with the top already installed.) Dunno if a future idea could maybe do something with any of the unused holes that the hard top would have normally bolted into, though that might not be feasible with how they're positioned 😔

Does it work with the Jeep 2024 4xe?
I'm going to say yes but lately i have had a question arise as to whether the plastics in front of the seatbelt behind the rear seat is in the way. I recently had a 2024 willy's customer call and he had to wobble the holes a bit but was able to get it to work. That said, he had been given the v1 of the plates that were not slotted. (I was out of the others and he knew it was the old version). At this point, I have to say yes but I still need to go by and test it. The lower bag on the left side wont go under the plate but can still be attached, just not tucked away underneath. for whatever reason they have plastics covering that area that dont do anything.. If you order them and it doesn't work i'll cover shipping to get them back to me..
These work with soft tops?
Unfortunately no because the holes are used in a different way to hold part of the plastic pieces that hold the jeep soft top on.

$350 for this wow.. it must be made with high-end luxury leather like Louis Vuitton.
Our intention was to make them 299 but cost of the powder coated aluminum plates as well as fabrics have gone up significantly and shipping on raw materials is up as well. Welcome to 2023. And for the record you could buy a knock off Chinese Louis Vuitton for that, not a real one. That’s the very reason I developed these bags was to provide a quality product that wasn’t made in a sweatshop.
Will it fit in a a TJ ?
That’s a good question.. I need someone to measure the distance between the mount bolts and see how close they are to the JKU and JLU.. if the bolt holes work I would think the roll bar mounts likely would.. the rear I am a bit concerned about but not sure.. mind measuring for me?
I measured the bolts for my TJ It’s 19 and half from center bolt to center bolt.
@@maryf7230 wow that’s not a little different that’s a few inches.. I’m going to need to find a 2 door JL and JK and see how close they r.. technically you could just bore holes in the plate and likely make it work.. not sure where the straps would fall on the roll bar.. might work might not… no idea.. could be modified to work though, just don’t know
