They can't. Once they sign up, they're literally schlaves to their 0wπ€rs. 💪😎✌️ That's just how it goes. Wealth is health, might is right, profit is POWER.
but for some this is their one and only chance to be an olympic medal winner, that they've spent a lifetime training for. That's a pretty big ask.
@deborahgarry9363 France should have provided an alternative. This is unacceptable.

I'm just noting down the idiots who rank Paris Olympics LOWER than Munich Olympics when 11 people were murdered in the Olympic village.
Public relations are more important than the athletes
This is how you can permanently foul up public relations. We are holding Olympic games in France again in year 2xxx -- Olympic athletes respond with, "Nope, I'm out!".

How is Paris not liable for putting athletes' health in danger?
So gross. Maybe they can all check in with RFK for advice on treatment 😏
Because they're not in danger? low-levels are e-coli are not dangerous and it's been closely monitored. You think the country of Pasteur would not know this?
Simple, you simple 🧠 person. It's the athletes decision to swim in it. Nobody is forcing them to swim in it so u r just spewing nonsense
Is that why 4 athletes and counting are sick?
@@c.r.p.968 with e-coli? We already know that at least one case was not related to the virus. There is a PlanB should the levels not be acceptable. Comments here treating this like it's out of control with zombies walking around Paris.
Disgusting top tier athletes that don’t get paid anything are forced to swim in the sewer 😡this years Olympics was one of the worst in history
Wouldn't building a pool be cheaper?!?
Cost cutting measures
Olympic triathlon is traditionally an open water swim event
@@jyc313nope. Triathlon swimming is always held in open water. There are many other places to swim this event where they could have found clean open water. They didn’t need to swim in the Seine. Big boo boo.
Now deadly tradition, what parasites are they packing for the rest of their lives?@@cc.runs3
I don’t understand your question. Yes it would be cheaper. But keeping the rivers clean shouldn’t have a price tag.
Not the athletes fault that Anne Hidalgo developed tolerance to bacterias 😂😂😂. Doesn’t mean all the athletes can 😂.
Can they use for this? This is some bull and someone needs to be held accountable for subjecting them to such dangers.
Countries should sue the Olympics and France for this mess! These entire games have been a disaster! I really feel bad for the athletes from all of the nations.
American losers only go for sue, wanting make money from others, without knowing the true.

There's so much wrong with the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Started with an awful opening ceremony and it still managed to go downhill from there.
Let's see:
Opening ceremony
Accommodations (beds, lack of AC, too many rooms to a shower facility)
Food
Decisions on the female boxing event
Decision to FORCE international athletes compete in a s*** infested river...
Don't forget an aussy women was RA%ED just days befor games started, I believe she was visiting for the games as well.
@@Freedomcustom I'm sure the athletes could add many more items to the list.
The Paris games will certainly go down in history. A lot of people have a lot of explaining to do.
It’s disgraceful to expect anyone to swim in that pollution. Are there no clean lakes or river within an hour or so of Paris?
They let swimmers compete in the polluted river. This is not acceptable.
Any river flowing through a major city will not be very clean. Definitely not clean enough for world class athletes to race in. Who came up with this idea?
I can't believe no Health and Safety company has got involved in this day and age
I hope some lawsuits take place after putting peoples lifes at risk
That river is so polluted. It’s like swimming in the Chicago River, which no one in their right mind would ever do.
Take it you have fact checked that ?
I think the main point here is that it doesn't matter if it's the Chicago River, the Hudson, the Thames, or the Ganges or the Seine, you just don't have humans swimming through rivers running through densely populated cities.
So the locals will never swim in it but they allowed their guest to swim in it !!
Never should have been in that river. Terrible idea from the beginning. I hope all athletes recover soon.
If they can hold the surfing events halfway around the world why did they choose the Seine?
Maybe flying a million plus athletes & fans to Tahiti would be a tad problematic
Swimming in that river…INSANE!
The IOC has failed miserably. They prove daily they don't have the athletes wellbeing at heart. Paris is the shame of the Olympics. I saw the press conference earlier today and I was shocked to hear some of the things they said, it's as if they weren't even in attendance themselves.
You cannot control nature but you can control which cities get the Olympics and which venues are appropriate for the event.
Billions to clean water screams "enter at own risk"😬
Well at least they have their priorities right...maybe money should be rather spent on arms?
@@richardkennard8485 that's billions of dollars laundered. like most "green" initiatives. you aren't even a little upset that billions of dollars was spent to clean a river and the river was not cleaned? that seems to be a running theme with these green projects. they spend 10 to 100 times what a private entity would spend and almost always fail spectacularly at fixing whatever issue they set out to solve. and people still clap like seals because "it's the thought that counts" i guess.

I suspect there are cases of food-poisoning and tummy bugs every Olympics but that doesn't get clicks. Who is in hospital? They don't even say
@@bridgetc7640we investigated ourselves and found no problem we had no intention of whatever happened like they don't have a script writer to even write something that sounds reasonable
The Belgian Olympic Committee has formally denied that a Belgian athlete was hospitalized. This swimmer suffers from gastroenteritis caused by E coli. Another Belgian swimmer suffers from the same disease while not bathing in the river. Gastro enteritis is a common, highly contagious condition that is usually benign to healthy people. The E coli bacterium is usually transmitted by food products: milk, cheese, and poorly cooked meat. No serious evidence has been provided to support the claim that this disease was transmitted by river wate
So the stories about locals protesting by taking a dump directly in the Seine aren’t true?
I can safely say that this is the worst Olympics ever
I totally agree
They tried so hard to make Sochi 2014 sound like the worst Olympics, but now looking back on it, Sochi was great compared to this. And at least they had a nice opening ceremony unlike the Paris abomination of a ceremony.
@@SerbiAna47you worry about a opening ceremony we worried about people here smh
The West did that 🙄

Media : Paris the city of happy athletes swimming in a sparkling cleaned up River . Olympic swimmers : I puked 10 times !
The difference between the mayor being in the water and the athletes is that the mayor (based on the clip) did not dunk her head into the water. Athletes might ingest the water and have more severe effect
Should have arranged to have the marathon through the exclusion zone of Chernobyl.
The politicians where barely in the water compared to the athletes, and not even head under.
2 athletes got sick and it proves a point?
If it was Ecoli like it happened before it would have been 50+ athletes.
Throwing-up is not unusual after a competition. No chance to throw up because of contamination that fast. And only one person?
Come on I m not saying the seine is clean but stop misinformation

As far as I'm concerned the whole concept of the olympics is as disgusting as this filthy river
Mankind sure is classy. History has certainly demonstrated that over the past thousand years.
It's ridiculous.
I did this race in Long Beach harbor where we had a 2-mile swim in Open water and when I got out I was just covered in green slime, kind of the color of radiator fluid.
Kept rinsing and rinsing and it wouldn't even come off. Head to toe.
Man this make me furious for those poor athletes that swim in that nasty disgusting sewer water. That is sooo dispicable. I hope the ones that got sick recover and everyone needs to sue the French Olympic for putting their lives in danger... :(
So they knew that storm water and sewerage were flowing into the river. Then they expected human beings to swim in it! That's the most disgusting, reprehensible thing I've read in a very long time. I'm so grateful that I live in a Country where sewerage does not flow into the rivers, but into treatment plants so it's cleaned up.
