Howdy, couple questions. I’ve seen people say to do a short (1/2 inch to 1 inch) high density foam on top of the pocket coils under the latex comfort layer - I believe to protect the latex and help keep the coils from accordion’ing? I’ve also seen people say to do a high density foam on the very bottom under the pocket coils, again to keep the coils in place (specifically leggett and platt). Do you think that’s necessary? Is it more necessary if you plan to use the mattress on an adjustable base?

I have the birch by helix. Love latex. Slept on a full latex as well...was alright but I like the give in the coils. Thinking of getting their topper as well

Are you a side sleeper? And how firm is the Birch mattress? Thank you.

@@erinryan5358 yup...side sleeper. 6ft and 205lbs and athletic build ...it's great for side sleeping. Slight cradle but not the sinking hug. I don't like sleeping in the mattress.

@@erinryan5358 also just just ordered the topper. I love the birch as a side sleeper but also love a plush top, and had the money and saw the reviews were good! Most reviews have it as a medium firm. I would say that's fair, a touch on the firmer side. The latex offers wonderful pressure relief. Most put it at a 6.5 or 7/10.

    Just a question.
I noticed there are latex mattresses with through holes, vertically, from side to side, especially in the shoulder support area (considering a mattress divided into 7 support sections).
This type of hole should be more effective for ventilation compared to what you see in a "classic mold", which goes partially deep, describing a sort of thin cone.
However, I doubt it's just a marketing ploy to raise the price.
Would it make sense to spend more to buy a mattress like this?

    Great video guys…
I’m in Australia and there is not much choice … but do you think Zoned latex is better than not?
1 company here (peace Lilly) says zoned latex is not needed, the other company, (zenna) says it’s needed and sell their latex in a 20cm solid block..
    What’s better?

Great explanation, BUT… one question you didn’t cover: which one is better suited to an adjustable bed?
THAT will determine which one we get I think. So, could you add that to the next update please? Other than that, the info was solid! TY!

Glad to hear that! In our opinion, you can't go wrong with either one. Both work great on an adjustable base!

Excellent presentation, very informative. I'm in PA, how would u ship a hybrid mattress?

I am an odd duck, I feel the coils on most of the so-called hybrids.

I did much research on mattresses, so overwhelming. Maybe getting a mattress with 4 inches of latex would solve the problem. I believe Wink is one brand. Or get a topper since u have the bed. Various heights and feel what's used

@@sdmattressmakers @M_ondo I am thinking about going for an all Latex Mattress. From my teens to early 30s I slept on a waterbed, that was the best sleep I had. Really don't want to go back to one, so all Latex may be close to what that was like.
