Yes actually they are if you use a good motor. They also predate ice vehicles. However in 100 years we still do not have a power source to run them in mass production. Lead a is batteries are too heavy. Lithium is a fire hazard, toxic, and use slave labor to mine. We do have safe hydrogen storage developed in the 1970s but the government made it illegal to sell. Hydrogen not only could power evs but also clean ice vehicles. We could build nuclear generators powered by recycled nuclear waste at point of sale. You could bury a sealed unit like they do gasoline tanks as long as you can a water pipe to it. We have had this technology for decades but the government, especially democrats keep it from being used.
How are the rollerbearings lubricated? What kind of bearings are used to resist the firing stroke impact? How long can these bearings keep running before replacement is needed?
Bottom line is whether the brake specific fuel consumption. That number tells you if it’s more efficient than traditional ICE designs. Manufacturing costs will also be needed to determine if this is an overall win.
This is a waste of fuel just for the sake of converting it to electricity, and the electrical system is inherently weak, as far as I can see. You can control speed and torque simply through the transmission, so there is no need for complexity.
Toyota already has a system they call eCVT, which has not much in common with regular CVTs and this bad boy would work beautifully with that kind of hybrid transmission.
Yes well the so called bad fuel economy is because most people don't understand the actual size of the Wankel Mazda calls the 13b 1300 cc four cylinder equal ! In reality it's a 2.6 litre six cylinder analogue ! If you realise that it's fuel economy and power are about rite for that size motor , it's when people mistakenly think it's 1.3 litre and go , wow that's so bad for 1.3 litres !
If it has 500cc - governments will introduce a new method of calculating road registrations costs - just as they did with the rotary engines - and this disadvantaged the rotary powered cars apart from their other shortcomings such as high fuel consumption, oil usage, engine wear etc. But Toyota will win if they can make it successful.
How do you get more efficiency from an ICE? Yank it out and put in an electric motor. Still want it to run on fossil? Build an engine/generator whose exhaust is cooler than the intake.
It must have a poor performance point with the roller idea next would be wear and tear but at the end of the day it’s oil, petrol, filters, plugs, injectors and all that goes with it and of coarse global warming the only low emissions car is one like Fred Flintstone drives?
"Toyota Ceo REVEALS ALL NEW Super Engine That KILLS All Competition!" No toyota "1 Stroke engine" it's 2 stroke engine with no oil. There none in this video. Wtf is this nonsense AI generated content channel, seems like youtube didn't have any protection for AI stuff these days. XD
WOW my pedigree 1980 Donnington GT championship champion .. two months away from my 80th birthday .. this engine design is so simple it is embarrassing .. so simple but of course all brilliant designs unfortunately hit the concrete foreheads of the establishment . The mass production costs might be prohibitive ... roller bearings spray lubricated ( like the gears on the Westland Scout helicopter gearbox .would be my choice for reliability .Exciting video .. fingers crossed .
Before raving about this blatantly plagiarized idea why don't you take the trouble to look up the "DYNACAM" engine which has kicked around for multi decades??
I looked it up. It employs a double roller bearing setup on the piston rods. Some say this might run into wear ability issues. But then, so might this present design, although it looks more robust. BTW, you need only a 10% difference in design to obtain a patent on simular designs.
This is just a variation of the design I created 30 years ago and although it is vastly superior to conventional engines, it is grossly inferior to my latest design.
And the hype around the rotary and the Sarich orbital engine. No, unfortunately, electric is here to stay. They just need a better battery and business case. How much energy is burnt building an electric vehicle? Our future driven by politicians.
It will probably be intended to work with hydrogen as the fuel to kill the emission problem......TOYOTA have a long design expertise not known to the average joe.
@@omaranisthey do but Rambler here appears to feel threatened. Perhaps because he (or it 🤷♂️) is a CCP loyalist. He (or it) will likely be back soon from his Weibo account updates 😅😅
Where did you go school? The only problem with the Engine really is that it isn't a four stroke. It's my bias, that's all. I would like a Revolver Cylinder Engine, it is better than V Configured engines. Two stroke scavenging engines just seem problematic, to me that's all. It will make a great hybrid , going straight to alternator and or motors, and batteries.
THIS ENGINE, as it is, is a fake. INNENGINE is refuses to talk about my patent in Brazil, very similar to his technology, but with little diferences that make it viable
Are EVs more reliable? 👇

Negative! pure EVs is nothing more than a fun car

I will believe it, when i see it!
V/R ,
R.
Fulfill power and torque requirements by pairing it with an electric motor, as current hybrids do with their Atkinson cycle engines.
This is a waste of fuel just for the sake of converting it to electricity, and the electrical system is inherently weak, as far as I can see. You can control speed and torque simply through the transmission, so there is no need for complexity.
Baffles me how neither of you have created this superior design yet.

This reminds me about the hype in the new rotorary engine. Unfortunately it's gas milage sucked even though it was small, light and powerful.
True, though opposed piston engines are generally VERY fuel efficient. (they also used to be used on submarines etc, though those engines are HUGE)

The swatch plate as used in air con compressors is a very old mechanism.
How do you get more efficiency from an ICE?
Yank it out and put in an electric motor.
Still want it to run on fossil? Build an engine/generator whose exhaust is cooler than the intake.
Down fall of engines like this is emissions
If anyone can make it work, Toyota can.
How does it compared with Avadi engine?
It must have a poor performance point with the roller idea next would be wear and tear but at the end of the day it’s oil, petrol, filters, plugs, injectors and all that goes with it and of coarse global warming the only low emissions car is one like Fred Flintstone drives?
Every six days Toyota claims to have re-invented ICE’s. Been there. Heard that. Vaporware. Moving on.
It will be best suited for hybrid cars
When will we see a working prototype of the car? Perhaps never?
500CC'S PUSHING A CAR IS INSANE
Sweet!
Maby a diesel version for a generator
"Toyota Ceo REVEALS ALL NEW Super Engine That KILLS All Competition!" No toyota
"1 Stroke engine" it's 2 stroke engine with no oil.

Love it.
All these new engines just come to nothing
Sound? I like sound from V8
Ill take it
Let me know when it gets into a car
This was invented by Spanish Inventor not japan
That's what I thought too, now Im confused.. anyways Im exited about this engine
This is not new it was built it was built in the mid 1976 by canada ìt was call the K engine
AC outomotive compressor design.

👏👏👏
The rollers and ramps will ensure plenty of metalic contamination in the oil..😂😂 lets see one after 500,000 miles of abuse..
Walk the walk.
It turns straight line energy into rotational energy. Therefore it's inefficient. Enough of the hype.
Don't all engines convert straight line energy into rotational motion?
@@omaranisthey do but Rambler here appears to feel threatened. Perhaps because he (or it 🤷♂️) is a CCP loyalist. He (or it) will likely be back soon from his Weibo account updates 😅😅
It is like the motor that consumes electricity to operate, Does this mean that the electric motor is inefficient ?
Yep, taken as the expesive, toxic hazards that they are.

What, another one?
It will have bad low rpm torque
Air conditioner compasser.

Se você não patenteou nos EUA, basicamente, a sua patente não vale de nada. Só vai atrapalhar essa inovação de chegar no pais.
Toyota?
Bla. Bla only talk from Toyota, new ev batters 950 miles range , hydrogen power cars and more
They have actually released hydrogen powered cars lol, the Toyota Mirai, sold only in California.
Still got a tail pipe = just a bad joke
Copy of the original English Commer engine technology
What a load of rubbish they are only building hybrid cars
