This is probably the most comic book accurate version of the Hulk translated to the big screen. Mark Ruffalo's Hulk/Bruce Banner isn't bad, it's just the writers always treat him like a joke and not an actual character
Say what you will about the movie, i actually prefer this version of the hulk to the one from avengers onwards. Much more savage. The only time we see hulk this savage is when he's under the control of the mind stone (Loki's staff and Wanda). I also like the way the muscles are. +Guy R Personally, I think, that the "dull" part was the second half of the movie - when all the action started. The first half - Bruce moving from place to place, trying to gain control, experimenting, meeting the girl (forgot her name) - it actually was very interesting to me, more interesting than most today's superhero movies. Only similar experience I can think off is the first half of "Batman Begins".
I agree that the first half of TIH is better than the second, but I still wouldn't call that half "good". The first half tries to be character-driven, but the problem is that the characters in it are just not deep and interesting enough to make that section engaging. I can think of PLENTY of superhero movies that did that kind of thing better - 'Batman Begins', as you said, but also 'Superman the movie', and 'Spider-Man 2', and 'Iron Man', and 'Thor'... Goddamn 5"7 Emil Blonsky standing tall, fearlessly going up against Hulk will always be the most *SAVAGE* moment throughout ALL of the MCU. One of my favourite Tim Roth performances!
Walks right up to hulk and saying “is that all you got” pure badass. Even Loki an Asgardian (Frost Giant) wouldn’t go near hulk after being smash a little bit into the ground. Blonzsky got kicked and rolled a long while and smashing his head into a tree. And he still goes up to where he know Hulk/Banner is.
the only thing better about the new hulk is a lot better cgi (which is just a product of it's release date) So many epic scenes in this movie much more accurate to the comics
The Incredible Hulk is a MASSIVELY UNDERATED movie that Marvel just wanted you to forget which pissed me off so much! Edward Norton's easily the most faithful version of Bruce Banner/Hulk.
This is actually one of my favourite films from the MCU overall. I don't understand why it garners so much hate. It's one of the more comic book accurate portrayals of a comic book character. It nails the duality and opposing nature of Bruce and Hulk, but also of how the two come to understand they need one another more than they first thought. Abomination is also one of the more terrifying villains the MCU has produced. He genuinely gives the Hulk a run for his money, and actually feels like he could have posed a greater threat to Earth overall if the Hulk hadn't been able to stop him. His power and own savagery is immense. That Blonsky/Abomination has never been used anywhere else in the MCU is criminal, in my opinion.
It didn't used to and I think it's total bs how it does. Before they recast Norton and replaced him with Mark Ruffalo I never heard anything bad about Norton or the movie, but it seems people get amnesia when they like a new performance and suddenly the old performance must've been bad. People are dumb.
@@doingcigs Ruffalo is awesome at playing Banner and you're right his chemisty with Downey is unmatched but Norton's portrayal of Banner is borderline the same as Bruce is in the comics, he even looks similar to him.
I just like to think in the Movies’ story that Banner had Facial Plastic Surgery ( Nortons face -> Ruffalos face ) off-screen before Hulk appeared in the Avengers movie Edit: Idk how Plastic Surgery fully works please don’t @ me
I generally prefer this Hulk over the new one. I think the character development is very in-depth and Norton played the serious and brooding Bruce pretty well. Really fits the tone of the movie, what with Bruce trying to regain control, trying to do the right thing while running awag from others. It gives me a bit of a Batman Begins vibe to it. I like Mark Ruffalo's Hulk, too. I think his Hulk really suits the tone of MCU/Avengers as a whole. I can't imagine Mark Ruffalo being in this movie (can't see him as a serious and brooding Bruce) just like how I can't see Norton's Hulk fitting into the MCU or being in Thor: Ragnarok (funny and fun Hulk).

No clue why a lot of you (including one of my channels) are seeing only 360p. This was uploaded last night, had plenty of time to process. Hopefully, it corrects itself soon.
People love to trash it but this is the best Hulk movie. The best looking Hulk so far. I always thought Hulk screams at the sound of the thunder because it could be his Dad.
I love how this movie basically is a film adaptation of the video game "Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Dectruction". Similar story, same villains, and even some of the fighting tactics are the same like Hulk ripping a car into two pieces and then using them like either boxing gloves or using two pillows in a pillow fight, the sonic clap, and the ground pound sending a shockwave towards the enemy. Love this movie. And I even like the Ang Lee Hulk, despite both of them being critically panned
To think that my favorite Character of Marvel was basically shit on in Avengers. Don’t get me wrong I love Avengers so much, but what they did to hulk just makes me really really disappointed
While Ruffalo does a fine job as Banner and Hulk, I always loved Nortons version of both. The Hulk in this one is more of a force of nature, brutal and dangerous in his attempts to escape(him swatting away the bullets like flies as he runs is one of my favourite shots)and the whole campus fight is insanely crazy with how much destruction he causes and how easily he takes down the military. A deleted has Bruce talk to Betty about how it feels to be the Hulk. Its not that the lightning sounds like gunfire, but he's so sensitive to sound that it hurts him. Its like someone poured a liter of acid into his brain. Visuals and sounds are way more intense. Thats partially why the Stark sonic cannons were so damaging. Another fun thing I noticed, Bruce's mind does poke through in some moments(him using the metal pieces as a shield so he can take down the sonic cannons, him using a thunderclap to put out the fire and strategically beating Abomination by trapping him in the fissure and staying out of his reach to take him down.) Also, double the amount of wins on "Hulk smash!"please.
Hulks actually alot smarter then most versions give him credit for apparently he's either as smart or can tap into Bruce's intelligence he's just either over stimulated or doesn't want to So the way he fights Brute force initially then crude weaponry is simply him figuring things out
6:32 I'm glad someone thought about this. I'm epileptic, and that physical tiring is something I really understand. The Hulk is something I reallly empathize with.
I actually paused the video to read the math that jaredcheeda did for hulks jumps 3:07. Also i didn’t know hulk talked at the factory scene, I didn’t hear it at first.
Snehil Shrey Okay, though when I looked through reviews for the MCU movies, I found more hate for Hulk than either of those two movies, which I felt were met with more varied reception.
For Age of Ultron at least I think most of the dislike isn't so much that people think it was a bad movie, just that it didn't meet the sky high expectations as the second Avengers movie. As for the first Captain America i think its just a weird blend of superhero movie and period piece, which isn't necessarily bad but is kind of off putting while not being so amazing as to get praise for being "different." To be fair though, I think most of the reaction I've heard to this movie is just that it seems to completely overlooked in the mcu universe rather than people not liking it. Sort of like, most people don't even know its part of the mcu so the automatic reaction is just, "oh didn't know about that one, must have been bad."
Neil Briggs The problem with the first Avenger is how rose colored it makes the 40s look as well as the inconsistent technology. The best part of that movie is the ending when Steves decisions are shown to have consequences. If it were just a tiny bit grittier like Saving Pvt. Ryan or even Band of Brothers, it could have been really really good.
I'm sorry but... The eyes of Hulk who become glowing when he gets mad even more... +5 wins The thunderclap... +10 wins The soundtrack... +10 wins And the fact that they make it clear that the more angry Hulk is, the more powerful he is ... + 10 wins All the other Hulk appearances in the MCU, with the exception of Thor Ragnarok perhaps, are big jokes.
Hulk is meant to be a monster ruining one man's life. The MCU treats him like a joke. The only fantastic scene with him is the transformation/punch in Avengers. And even that is only meaningful because of this film.
better late than never exactly they runied the hulk badly it was already bad it looked like a gorilla n the avengers buh now n the endgame he takin picture wit kids n a suit
In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2: During the scene in which Rocket, Groot, and Yondu are space-jumping. There is a short scene of Stan Lee in a vintage NASA space suit talking to the watchers. He specifically mentions his cameo from Civil War "I was a Federal Express man..."
Here's my hot take: I like this Abomination design more then his design in Shang Chi. Yes, I get that it's more Comic accurate, but I just like the sheer, brutal monster form here, where it looks like his muscles are about to burst out of his skin.

Actually the clap hulk did is called the thunder clap. A technique only the people who have gamma radiation in them can perform. It can completely extinguish fire, deafen foes, and destroy mountains, if i remember correctly. A badass move that is never used in the avangers films sadly.
I liked how Abo was a lot bigger than Hulk, and talked to Hulk like he was some sort of bully. And Hulk had to kind of stand up to him, and it was blatantly obvious that Hulk wasn't nearly as strong as Abo, either.
TyphoonZebra You finding the movie online, skipping to the scene with Betty walking in the hotel and playing from there to verify would be even better.
I've always loved the totally "savage" characters. No crossing lines, no holding back. just pure, raw, 100% power to smack the opponent into next week.
So refreshing to hear a positive review about the 2008 Incredible Hulk movie. I'm sick and tired of hearing people make this movie out to be worse than what it actually is.
The thing I like most with the new version of the hulk is his stance and the way he moves or whatever. In earlier versions he was basically just a super big and super strong green human. Now you can clearly see in some (just a few really) scenes that his movements resembles those of a gorilla. Makes him look and feel more menacing and brutal to me... and also less human.
kett Arnesson no...the way he would resemble an animal is wrong...yes he is a big hulk of strength but he still has those Bruce characteristics like in the comics (the way this movie did)
man, I really love your videos, you're awesome, keep the good job :D also, I wanted to know if is there any chance that perhaps you could make a video about megamind, I really like this film, but it seems to be very underrated :/
one thing i like about this movie is how much green color we see before Bruce (pun intended) hulks out. it's like a foreshadowing that tells us: "oh yeah, he's coming." and when he DOES show up, it's frightening and brutal. but awesome nonetheless. :)
The vast majority of this movie is played more like an old fashion kaiju movie (And i mean original godzilla style) then a traditonal super hero film, which is great. It even has some later kaiju tropes thrown into.
This movie was one of my favorites as a kid, hearing him start screaming hulk smash sent so many chills throughout my body, I haven't seen this movie in years and I'm not surprised that I had that kind of reaction to it

EDIT: I meant the offer to send my fan edit to the uploader personally, not to post publicly
Alright how do I get it.

No clue why a lot of you (including one of my channels) are seeing only 360p. This was uploaded last night, had plenty of time to process. Hopefully, it corrects itself soon.
CinemaWins hmm, I’m not having a problem
It's corrected now!
You didn't give Rickson F***** Gracie a win.
That's why.
That's why that is happening.
Do Children of Men please!
It probably had something to do with different regions.

This is him now *Endgame Hulk* feel old yet?
FUCK!

@@RH_Collective *Goes back to Hulk*
People love to trash it but this is the best Hulk movie. The best looking Hulk so far. I always thought Hulk screams at the sound of the thunder because it could be his Dad.
Nice theory!
Damn, I’ve never thought of that…good observation!
Other people: "ugh I hate big, third act, CGI fight scenes."
Me: "I love epic final fight scenes in superhero movies."
I know with CGI you can do whatever you want in the fight and can make it as brutal as possible without actually hurting the actors or actresses.
imo this is the best *visual* representation of the hulk
@@bagboygino you're*
Nemesis Not counting the slightly dated CGI, but absolutely yes.
Nemesis They couldn’t use this hulk for later movies as he was very expensive to create.
@@jackmitchell9548 they could afford it they make hella money there just being lazy
2003 hulk still looks good as well in my opinion
I love how this movie basically is a film adaptation of the video game "Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Dectruction". Similar story, same villains, and even some of the fighting tactics are the same like Hulk ripping a car into two pieces and then using them like either boxing gloves or using two pillows in a pillow fight, the sonic clap, and the ground pound sending a shockwave towards the enemy. Love this movie. And I even like the Ang Lee Hulk, despite both of them being critically panned
The Flying Jew Productions Well technically, it isn’t.
To think that my favorite Character of Marvel was basically shit on in Avengers. Don’t get me wrong I love Avengers so much, but what they did to hulk just makes me really really disappointed
Big Mexy shutup
@@masonwright7700 get the fck outta here bitch, he's 100% right.
Big Mexy I know I agree
Right
Professor Hulk is complete shit
Still to this day, that “HULK... SMASH!!!!” gives me chills, my favourite hulk voice in the movies by far
I never realized; during the storm scene, every time the lightning flashes Hulk goes from classic green to original grey.
That's pretty cool.
I'm glad you tackled this movie. I really like this one, it's among my favourite MCU movies.
SpawnRevenge92 same
I mean, there are a lot better movies in the mcu
Nizarfakhrei Fakh and?
THE FIRE RISES hella true
there are avengers, dr strange, quardians of the galaxy, captain america winter soldier, captain america civil war,
thor ragnarok...
One of my favorite MCU films, The Incredible Hulk deserves more praise.
Preach!!!
Everything great about the Incredible Hulk: everything
ikr ?
It's rather incredible.
If this movie had come out in like 2010 and the cgi was better this would be even better
It came out too early but I think it has aged pretty well
While Ruffalo does a fine job as Banner and Hulk, I always loved Nortons version of both.
Another fun thing I noticed, Bruce's mind does poke through in some moments(him using the metal pieces as a shield so he can take down the sonic cannons, him using a thunderclap to put out the fire and strategically beating Abomination by trapping him in the fissure and staying out of his reach to take him down.)
Also, double the amount of wins on "Hulk smash!"please.
Hulks actually alot smarter then most versions give him credit for apparently he's either as smart or can tap into Bruce's intelligence he's just either over stimulated or doesn't want to
So the way he fights
Brute force initially then crude weaponry is simply him figuring things out
You forgot the best line:
“Give me a real fight!”
Nah nah.... HUUULK.....SMASH!!!!!!!
420Prophet Like yours more.
My personal favorite version of hulk when it comes to visual the hair looks great and CGI holds up surprisly well
HOLLOW MAN Are you kidding? The CGI is terrible. Rubbery, blurred, waxy texture. Its horrendous.
T E. Just like your face then?
@@nope5657 if u not a hulk fan jus say that
I thoroughly enjoy this movie. While it may not be the best Marvel movie it definitely gave us enough Hulk to be epic.
I liked the way this Hulk looked
6:32
I'm glad someone thought about this. I'm epileptic, and that physical tiring is something I really understand. The Hulk is something I reallly empathize with.
The best hulk version...
8:54 I would have actually had a heart attack at this point
Best live-action Hulk.
Pretty sure Avengers is generally agreed to be the best one of those.
Kal-El fan 49 listen, Why is it that whatever video I watch you have commented on it?
Kal-El fan 49 thor 3
Does Thor ragnarok count as a hulk film.
Kal-El fan 49 hell yea.
Tim Roth's/Blonsky's, fight scene was my absolute favorite part.
And it's also kind of a sneak peek into how Captain America would fight given Blonsky was given a (failed) Super Soldier formula.
I actually really enjoyed this movie despite me hearing that it was bad I still watched it and liked it a lot
I just don't get how it was bad
It was a damn good movie.
@ Well sometime it was slow. But I still like it
I actually paused the video to read the math that jaredcheeda did for hulks jumps 3:07. Also i didn’t know hulk talked at the factory scene, I didn’t hear it at first.
Most underrated MCU movie.
Yeah, I never really understood the overall "meh" feeling people seem to have towards it.
As for the first Captain America i think its just a weird blend of superhero movie and period piece, which isn't necessarily bad but is kind of off putting while not being so amazing as to get praise for being "different."
To be fair though, I think most of the reaction I've heard to this movie is just that it seems to completely overlooked in the mcu universe rather than people not liking it.
"Tell that to Vol 2, Age of Ultron and The First Avenger"
Yep, yep, yep. Especially volume 2, that one is a masterpiece.
yes , do a Wes anderson movie!!!!
if you do Grand Budapest Hotel, I will wach that video at least 10 times
and also, I think you could have used one of those generic shots from the moving scene from the begining of the movie, for next week's freeseframe.
on a second look, this could also be a movie with the minions, and that would be a lot less exiting.
Oké i was all wrong, I was 100% sure that it was Inside Out, but it was Coco
Please do Everything Great about The Fantastic Four / Silver Surfer
I just want a win for young and tiny Captain america
I'm sorry but...
The eyes of Hulk who become glowing when he gets mad even more... +5 wins
The thunderclap... +10 wins
The soundtrack... +10 wins
And the fact that they make it clear that the more angry Hulk is, the more powerful he is ... + 10 wins
All the other Hulk appearances in the MCU, with the exception of Thor Ragnarok perhaps, are big jokes.
Apparently most mcu fans like hulk in endgame because he is funny..... which is why almost every mcu cast is a comedian
Marotte Jeffrey wrong
@@azmirjohari609 mcu fans like hulk in endgame, true hulk fans hate professor hulk in endgame
One of my favorites! I actually really like Edward Norton as the Hulk!
Will you ever do a EGA video on the John Wick films? Sure they're rated R but when has that ever stopped you before.

"Now that we know he's a Watcher[...]?"
Was...something revealed recently in the MCU that I'm not aware of?
In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2:
During the scene in which Rocket, Groot, and Yondu are space-jumping. There is a short scene of Stan Lee in a vintage NASA space suit talking to the watchers. He specifically mentions his cameo from Civil War "I was a Federal Express man..."
Hes not a watcher althought he most likely helps them out.The watchers cant interact with what the watch. But stan probably helps with that.
Guys, he's not a watcher, he's a skrull working/reporting to the watchers. Or so the theory goes....
@@montypigofthedoodleclan8659 nope, he's just himself
Here's my hot take: I like this Abomination design more then his design in Shang Chi. Yes, I get that it's more Comic accurate, but I just like the sheer, brutal monster form here, where it looks like his muscles are about to burst out of his skin.
At the end, when the 'days without incident' counter showed up, I would really have liked to see the counter NOT go down, as it isn't an incident.
The point is, it's not a concern anymore. He no longer needs to keep track.
@@TimedRevolver yup.
The first MCU film I’ve seen in a theater. REEEEALLY underrated.

That second hulk fight is why you don't join the Army, kids. Imma work on a submarine.

I really liked this film. Think it's in my top 5 MCU films
My whole family held our breath when he shot the dog until I saw it and yelled “IT WAS JUST A TRANQ! IT WAS JUST A TRANQUILLISER! WE’RE ALL GOOD”
Fun fact:
When comic Hulk gets angry enough, he can literally split the world in half and cause earthquakes just by walking! (I believe)
Yes the world breaker Hulk. He also starts leaking a lot of radiation
5:16 that scene still has one of the best sounding roars in any of the movies, if you have a headset on it properly echoes
That hulk smash line is my favourite moment in the entire mcu
“I’m not saying I ever expect to get a live action Maestro Hulk…”
Yeah, about that… 😅
Yuusharo maestro movie would be awesome I hope marvel will do that in the future
This hulk vs avengers hulk from the future as maestro
Dj Jones This Hulk.
3:53 I think that is martin starr, who also plays the teacher in Spider-Man homecoming. if marvel purposely did this in continuity, good job!
13:09 William hurt isn't the only one to return to the mcu, Robert Downey Jr returned from the end credits
6:41 nice joke but he was actually making himself vomit to get the usb he swallowed.
TyphoonZebra Im pretty sure a joke was all it was since bruce flat out said why he was vomiting a few seconds later.
DarthUchiha17 when?
TyphoonZebra Right after he came out the bathroom.
DarthUchiha17 a time stamp will do just fine.
TyphoonZebra You finding the movie online, skipping to the scene with Betty walking in the hotel and playing from there to verify would be even better.

No, it will still go on.
Makes him look and feel more menacing and brutal to me... and also less human.
kett Arnesson no...the way he would resemble an animal is wrong...yes he is a big hulk of strength but he still has those Bruce characteristics like in the comics (the way this movie did)
8:10 “Leader-Shadowing”
Everyone in 2020: “Any we never saw him again!”
Everyone in 2022: "you all can say that again "
man, I really love your videos, you're awesome, keep the good job :D
also, I wanted to know if is there any chance that perhaps you could make a video about megamind, I really like this film, but it seems to be very underrated :/
one thing i like about this movie is how much green color we see before Bruce (pun intended) hulks out. it's like a foreshadowing that tells us: "oh yeah, he's coming." and when he DOES show up, it's frightening and brutal. but awesome nonetheless. :)
I love that the Hulk and Bruce have more in common with Jekyll and Hyde or the Wolfman than any other superhero.
hearing hulk say hulk smash, genuinely made me smile
4:44 This makes me think of how captain america in infinity war was able to do this.
This version of the Hulk is way better than the Avengers version.
I don't think so but that's probably because I'm growing up with the new MCU movies
Like when Abomination says "watch her die" Hulks eyes glows abit more green that gives him more strength 🔥
The vast majority of this movie is played more like an old fashion kaiju movie (And i mean original godzilla style) then a traditonal super hero film, which is great. It even has some later kaiju tropes thrown into.
Where is "Everything Great With How To Train Your Dragon 2" you did one for the first but haven't done the second
