I take care of millions of dollars worth of fish at work. One tip I have is that almost all fish diseases are already in the water supply. The only real preventive is excellent water quality. A bare bottom tank is one of the hardest to keep a decent water quality. If u must keep a bare bottom tank adding stuff with surface area helps add beneficial bacteria, stuff like plants, fake plants, or extra filters.

They are so pretty. I'm glad I caught this video today. We are having trouble with algae and I've never heard of the UV sterilizer before. We woke up this morning to 8 of our 10 fish dead. Such a bummer!

I've been wanting to keep fish again but it can get to be a lot to maintain in my life at the moment maybe later in life but for now I just like watching them and having them, seeing them swim around and all. I want to do it properly next time with sand and real plants and such.

I keep one fancy oranda goldfish. And I follow Luke's Goldies on UA-cam. It's an excelent channel and it is specialized on ranchu and oranda goldfish.

I think its funny because about the same time you got these two new goldfish I had just bought three new baby cory catfish for my tank (my platy died and my older cory was alone), buddies are always a great thing! my older cory loves swimming with his new friends 🙂😊 I'm also so sad to hear about Lagoona she will be missed 😪❤
If you want a canister filter I would recommend either an fx4 or fx6! We have Oscar’s and flower horns and they are wonderful. But do your research as far as a goldfish goes. Ps I love you and they are beautiful
have you considered getting a snail or other algae eater to help keep the tank clean? i have one in my tropical community tank but not sure how compatible they are for goldfish tanks!
Snails and algae eaters won't help. Algae eaters are almost exclusively tropical fish and the cold water varieties don't get very big so are at risk of being eaten by the goldies. Also fish and snails poop a lot so it won't clean the tank at all.

It’s still there, you just can’t see it with the angle! So weird
@@AlyssaNPets well at least with playing with angles you can't see it 😆 Either way the fish look great and they look happy. I can't wait to get an update on them when they've all settled in 😊

That’s the same fish wow she looks so much more different than when you first got her
I lost a 200 dollar gorgeous white oranda last year, just a few months after I got her. I was so upset-- I bought medicines i'd never heard of, took her to the vet, hand fed her antibiotics... in the end, I think the stress of shipping simply myst have been too much for her. I was advised to quarantine her in a plastic bucket, and change the water daily. But I'm probably never doing that again-- I think the dirty water heavily exacerbated her condition, even with near daily 100 percent water changes. It probably would have worked better for a smaller fish, but from now on, I'm going to use the smaller ten gallon tank I have that's been set up with my old tank filter (and bacteria) for a year now... Anyway, all this to say that I'm sorry for your loss! I understand completely what you went through.
I think have a good name for the baby gold fish you can name her GOLDIE!!

I have some name suggestions, For the older goldfish. I was thinking Lemon Scarecrow, Pumpkin Scarecrow. Spotty Scarecrow Spotted Bat, Baty, or Battsy.
For the Younger one I was thinking Striped Zombie, Spotty Zombie. Strippey, Spottsy, Stripped Bat, Black Witch or Whitchy. You don't have to pick mine If you don't like any of my name suggestions. It's totally fine It's fine If you wan't name the older goldfish with any of the Younger goldfish name. Same With the Younger goldfish that's also totally fine.

Cut a water bottle in half long ways and cut it to fit on the filter flow! I’ve done this for about a year and love it, helps my bettas a lot. Can always message you on instagram or (another social media) an example if necessary
