  • How to make a survival spring snare trigger trap that can be used for birds & small animals. You need some cordage, I used paracord for the demo. A spring pole (live sapling). A small toggle stick. A straight stick & a forked Y stick for stakes. And another straight trigger stick. Everything is explained in the video. Always check your local trapping laws. This was just a demonstration.

Thanks for showing good, clear picture of the trigger. Many other snare videos don’t show their triggers as well.

I like putting the toggle from under the “Y” stick. That way it’s always been pulled away from the nooze. With the toggle fed over the “y” like you have it, the initial movement of the toggle stick after its triggered its torwards the nooze. On this setup with the nooze horizontal is not really a big deal. Its hard for the toggle stick to hit the nooze. But on a vertical nooze setup, it’s very likely to hit the nooze and make it miss.

My feet got snared in a similar, but bigger trap when walking in the forest. I managed to free my bound feet, but only just.

Hey man, love the vids. Ohio native here too, what part of Ohio are you in? Do you do any classes or workshops in person? Trying to learn a little more and some hands on with someone like yourself would be awesome!

Thank you. I’m located in Wyandot county. I do plan on teaching some classes at an undetermined time. I’ve got some unexpected obligations to attend to this year so I am unable to plan anything at this time. I will definitely put the word out there whenever that time arrives. Thank you for the interest.

    Why can't people just talk?

I do talk in this video. You just have to be patient enough to watch one minute to hear it. Some of my other videos I’ll talk at the end with explanations etc. This particular video there is talking after the first minute. Make sure that you watch people’s videos fully if you’re going to comment on them, that way you can have a more accurate depiction & your comment has a chance of making sense.
