Finland have these. Come late and had some serious issues in 2015. Dutch even refused delivery if they are not going to fix them - today Airbus have stepped up and it flies like it should have done at day one.

NH90 - nothing but trouble for the Norwegian Navy...
I have flown on one of them with RNZAF - brilliant aircraft, incredible capabilities, and it looks magnificant.
Whats your take away on why the aircraft gets a bad rap? Australia seems to have labeled the airframe with a poor reputation.
I’d like ten cents from someone who’s flown the airframe.
In Belgium, we use the NH90 at our coast. We have some of them. There's always one standby (24/7). A really great helicopter!
For the Norwegian navy and coast guard the NH-90 is a disaster. Delivery should have taken place in 2008. The helicopter is still not operational. Performance is not according to spec.

@@robertb.3651 that's true. The fact that the German Navy will get the Sea Lion as replacement for the Sea King and the Sea Tiger as replacement for the Sea Lynx has only political reasons. The King Community preferred the Cyclone and the Lynx Community the MH 60R . That helicopter not worth the money.

Good to see our own RNZAF helicopters in this video/ grey with kiwi insignia. We will be replacing our RNZAF SH2 Super Seasprites helicopters in the mid to late 2020's, I hope The Navy frigate helicopter version is selected,it would meen comoonality with our closest allied neighbours, and a commonality with our present lift for the Army.

Any source? Problems in Australia are generally due to poor planning of spare parts provisions. They have same problem with Tiger. Funny that many others use these heli in actual combat environments and do not report these problems. Go figure.

Fake news, this was a bad reporting from Bild back in 2010 and was debunked, because this was only a concern for a prototype and not the final production version.
@@lordtemplar9274 If you cover your ears, hide your eyes behind a large red hat and shout fake news hard enough maybe you can ignore what is going on around you. However outside your safe space soldiers boots causing damage to the floor was a real problem in production models. The dutch had to hault deliveries because of design and assembly flaws furthermore the chopper earned it's place in the australian "projects of concern list" (Ding ding! more groundings) with issues including but not limited to: extremely high fuselage wear, compressor blade rubbing, failure of transmission oil cooler fans, windscreen cracking, an inertial navigation system that is slow to align plus lack of ability to land on uneven surfaces.

I think it was a bit like the Typhoon and Rafale development, certain countries split off from the original project and went in their own direction with it. And at the end you have two strikingly similar aircraft.
No! Merlin it’s a heavy helicopter the NH 90 it’s a medium size.

Does anyone know why they didn't put a fenestron type tail rotor on the NH90?
i was wondering the same thing. IMO they should put all R&D into making a helicopter like the one in the Avatar movie.

@@eacorion Looks like you're right! I always thought the NH90 was designed somewhere in the 2000s but it looks like it's already a 35-40 year old design from its first concepts. I knew that there's some problems with it. Our german bundeswehr NH90s were all grounded because of engine problems and they said they won't buy any more of it cancelling an existing order for 22 more. There's 10-15 countries using them and it looks like they are a lot of trouble. Many different problems with this type starting with delayed deliveries to fleet groundings, corrosion, rotor, etc...

Great helicopter, but at 50 million you could buy 2 UH-60 black hawk.
But then you would have 2 UH60s and no NH90.
Reg regan the UH-60 is a reliable workhorse. Just ask Sweden.

Reg regan my point is the NH90 is a better helicopter than the UH-60, but the price and cost per hour is more. This is why Sweden uses its UH-60 whenever they can. This is a great helicopter and it looks spectacular.
