Wow! I have just taken out the interior of my hyundai galloper and watching this really made me think that you have done what I should do.. Great job! Impressive result 😀👍
Great job, I have an 89, 3.0 V6 manual. I got some creases in the vinyl when fitting seatbelt anchors in the rear door posts and used a hairdryer to make the vinyl flexible and smooth them out. You may be able to do the same on the tops of the door cards.
que trabajo más meticuloso y con mucho deseos q quedé perfecto, como salido de fabrica el Mitsubishi Montero, felicitaciones son excelentes carros para todo uso , saludos de Ecuador
That's an awesome job on the restoration on your Gen 1. Got a few ideas from your video as I am planning to start restoring the Gen 1 I saved earlier this year.
great job mate. i am drving a 1990 NG Superwagon LLWB Auto petrol. it is in superb condition. no doubt you love your mitsubishi as much as i love mine. japanese engineering at its best and simplest. i get alot of comments and jealous looks i can tell you......
Your hands is made of gold. I love your work. I wish I have a skill like yours. Is it hard to outsource the parts for your montero in the U.S. ? Is it affordable. I wish you well to finish your project. God Bless you!:)
I'm trying to upgrade my fiancee's radio in her 1990 Montero. Any advice on which would work best for wiring, fit, quality, etc. This video was awesome, thank you so much for sharing!!
I put a 2018 Mirage radio in it. Modified the wiring to work with a Metro 70-1743 adapter. Works pretty nice! Any double DIN radio can fit. The radio bezel breaks really easily but you can 3D print a replacement. You can get the file off Etsy
Pacific Blue Leather Dye from worlduph.com (it works for plastics, fabrics) and DupliColor Medium Blue Vinyl & Fabric for the carpet. The carpet needs to be brushed in each direction, before and after spraying. Then once it's cured a few days later. I used a dyson brush roll on it to groom the fibers so it didn't get crunchy
Great work.. well done sir! Did you use a Mitsubishi head unit 😅? Looks similar in the layout of the newer models.. also I was wondering if something could be done to color the steering wheel or why not..
Yes it’s from a 2018 Mirage. I got it super cheap and it wired up without too much hassle. I plan on replacing the wheel with a wooden Momo or Nardi wheel. The dye could probably work on the original just fine. Mine was too far gone to try.
This was great; very informative. I have just acquired a 1995 Montero which was owned by a field heavy mechanic - he's a nice guy and the vehicle was well maintained, runs great, lots of spares (e.g. came with 2 O2 sensors) but the interior is pretty rough given its life as a working vehicle. I'd love to do the same to its interior as you did. Your chemicals list is much appreciated. Your engine rebuild - was it needed (eg burning oil or some such) or did you do it simply because it was a high mileage engine?

@@evanbmartin6332 thanks a lot for replying. i did mine too like you did yours a year ago but fabric and dashboard didn't touch them. after watching your video i was surprised that i could actually repaint the carpets. thanks again

Great job!!! I should do the same to my Pajero...
Kinda odd, but I have exactly the same year same everything. Loving it 100%
lovely work!! did the sound proofing make much of a difference in the cab
Yes, it helped quite a bit. Some more padding / insulation in the doors and rear panels would improve it more. I plan to do that next
Almost "brand new" now.... sick
Super job
Awesome!!!...
Pajero's blue interior is so special, I love it! Great work
impressive

May i know how did you dissemble the parts of the a/t lever? Is it from the bottom?
Awesome job by the way❤

Clean..its a beauty....How do you remove the gauges ?...my 1990 speedometer cable broke and Im trying to replace it...thanks.
The rear cover lifts up and away. Then there's a couple screws holding it down, and two on the front under the switches.
..Thank you .
Currently cleaning my Montero, any idea on how to remove rear bench? Thanks!
Good job...

Very impressive! I'm about to do an interior resto on blue. I was wondering what paint you used for the dash and carpet?

Excellent job, well done. How long did it take?
I focused on it and the majority of it was done in about two months
Where did you source those cup holders? I have an identical gen1.
They’re called “Marine grade Stainless Steel cup holders”. Amazon and eBay have them
Wow…

Hello friends, what’s that put on top sound insulation. black, can be pasted, what's the effect ?
It's mainly for heat insulation. Enhances the sound deadening as well
What did you use to adhere the new plastic moisture barriers inside the door panels?
It's called Butyl Sealant Tape
Hey what’s the fuel mileage youre getting on one liter of petrol?
I haven't calculated it yet. I've been fine tuning the engine these past few weeks
