This is a GIGANTIC improvement over the old system. I remember the sound design of firefights being people's biggest complaint, and you guys knocked it out of the park! Keep going!
The gun in first person does sound a little better, but I'm not gonna lie, the whole soundscape still doesn't sound convincing at all. Like if I close my eyes it all I hear is popping noises, not a theater of war.
So, the AK doesn't sound too good in my opinion. But the M16A2's gunshots are music to my ears. PKM is pretty alright, I suggest equalize it to sound louder, so it matches the gunshot volume for the first 2 guns.
Ready or Not is the gold standard for what guns should sound like and feel like in shooters imo. They just feel so punchy and satisfying when taking down an uncooperative armed suspect. Especially the suppressed M4A1 and HK416.
@@backseatswitchyy but the difference is that RON is more focused on CQB areas, places that are small or medium sized which means the volume is differnet than being outside
There needs to be a LOT more recoil. Especially with MG's when standing or even crouched. Rifles and other larger caliber weapons could do with more recoil as well.
i think the best thing they could do is add less rigid animations. rn it looks like the character has steel rods shoved in its arms. also giving the weapons a more "weighty" feel in the first person would be great

This overhaul is great! I think my 1 bit of constructive criticism would be a little more diversity in the sounds. I guess I just mean not just 1 single sound clip playing for a gunshot. Just a little more diversity in the amount of sounds. But hey, you guys are a very small team. And you've already done incredible work. O:HD is already in a better state than quite a few AAA games at their full release.
no, the PKM along with the PKP variant don't use the 7.62x39 caliber the AK series of rifles use excluding the 5.56x45 and 5.45x39 variants, the PKM and PKP use the 7.62x54mmR caliber, the same caliber the Mosin Nagant uses
The weird “blip” sounds while hundreds of gunshots are going off needs to be reduced and changed. It’s too cluttered while in combat. And it just sounds weird.
I like the new system. Sounds are great, the effects need some fine tuning of course, but damn you guys have been making some progress.

The indoor sfx still needs work, Forest is really damn good though
I feel like the flashes need to be a lot brighter, have ambient lighting and the yellow needs to be slightly more saturated.

A major improvement. Listening through my Fidelio X2HR with zen dac amplifier. It's pretty immersive for what it is. Especially the reverb sounds.

I think that the multi sounds that was shown in the Concept was soo much better and realistic
